Hotel NH Jolly Trieste - Trieste

I've have been staying at this hotel since 2003 and have never experienced problems and incompetence as I did with this past stay. The weather in Trieste during September was unusually hot with temps in 28-30 C range. I confronted the front desk regarding the lack of air conditioning and was told that management decided to turn the AC off for the season. I complained that the room was too hot, especially on the afternoon sun side of the building. I was eventually lied to by a young male receptionist saying that the AC would be turned on later that day or at the latest, the following day. This never happened. The hotel is surrounded by heavily trafficked roads and sleep with open windows was impossible. The next day after again complaining, I was moved to another, larger room, still hot with no AC. I did note that the lobby AC was functioning and comfortable for those checking in. NH Jolly will not see me returning to this hotel. It is unfortunate as we have made several friends there over the years.

Great location for those accessing bus and train lines and short walk to main square. Didn't spend long enough at hotel to give full assessment, but for what we were looking for it was excellent. Came in on the train and left on a bus - very convenient!!!

I've been frequenting this hotel since 2003. They recently completed remodeling the public areas and restaurant which now provides a more modern, updated appearance. The service staff in the restaurant remains excellent, especially our friends at breakfast, Aida and Sonia. The rooms located on the main road side of the building remain noisy with street traffic and the beds are too firm for my liking. Same goes for the tiny, flat pillows. DO NOT DISTURB signs placed on my door went unobserved and maids disrupted my nap. I complained to the front desk and was offered an apology. Most embarrassing because my sleep clothing is quite limited. Clean towels are usually delivered in mid-afternoon, which was the reason the maid ignored the do not disturb sign. Trieste has only a handful of decent hotels and this is the reason I return to the NH Jolly. Excelsior Savoia will reopen in June 2009 after a 2 year remodeling

There are two elevators , but one was out of service.Some cups,forks and spoons were a bit dirty in the breakfast.

We found that the Hotel Jolly in Trieste to be excellent in every way and suited us as a family of 4 perfectly.

not enough space in bedroom and not very quiet , restaurant low quality cuisine with little choice menu and expensive , car parking expensive ( 12 euro / 24 hours ), view from windows not attractive for this hotel category.

We loved our hotel Jolly, Trieste is a great city and this hotel is close to it all.

This was a very good hotel within easy walking distance to the tourist areas. Our only disappointment was to learn that we could not claim Star Alliance points with the rate we had. We would certainly stay there again.

Lovely property, great amenities and super staff. We had a wonderful stay here.
