The hotel was nice and the staff was friendly. It was also in a great location, but there was no parking available. The only complaint we have is that we indicated that we wanted a non smoking room and when we arrived (2 hours before check in) they told us there were none, but to come back at the normal check in time and there would be one available. When we returned, there were no non smoking rooms available so, they put us in a smoking room. We were allowed to go in the room before we accepted it and it did not smell like smoke, so in the end it all worked out.

It is an excellent hotel in the beautiful place of the Bruxelles!!!! We are a young couple with my husband and we spent beautiful 3 days in this hotel in March of 2009. A staff is very friendship and qualified, a breakfast was rich, abundant, a room wa very clean with a beautiful view on the squear and cathedral. We are both very satisfacted. I reccomend this hotel to all types of tourists.

El hotel estupendo, servicio muy amable, se habla castellano, nos han guardado las maletas antes del check-in y después del check-out. Situado en zona muy centrica, pero tranquila, rodeado de tiendas de arte y antigüedades, a menos de 10 min andando de la Grand Place y de la estación Central de tren. Habitaciones amplias y buffet impresionante. Acceso a Internet gratis desde una sala en recepción. Altamente recomendable.

We got a great deal for this hotel, since we only had to stay in Brussels for a night. Found a sale of 85 euros for a triple room. Wish we could have stayed there longer.

The room my sister and I stayed in was huge!! Not the norm in Europe. But I have to say the only problem was it was so noisy outside. We didnt sleep much due to all of the noise! The hotel is great they just need to sound proof the windows. Oh yeah and the blow dryer didnt not work well we had to leave the room with wet hair. It looked like a vacuum and didnt stay on long.

I came to this hotel at the end of my trip, rather ill, and it was very welcoming and comforting. Very nice.

Perfect place to stay. They have made a small mistake. The hotel ran out of extra beds for our daughter. So they immediately offered us an upgrade to a jr suite for no extra charge. Ous stay was a very pleasent experience.

We got a deal including breakfast. The best breakfast we have ever had in a hotel - vast selection, and nothing ever ran out. Plus juice glasses that weren't the size of thimbles. Great location, easy to get to the centre and the area around the hotel has everything you need too.

Nice double room. Unfortunately, it was very hard to have an acceptable temperature in the room (it was always too hot!). The staff was not very competent.

For the amount of money, I expected a quieter room. Lots of noise coming in from the hallway and the rooms above and beside. The fact that the rooms have hardwood floors probably makes them easier to keep clean, but you hear every footstep from above. At least no street noise. Good location. Lovely breakfast. Staff apologized, sincerely, for the noise, but what could they do?

This place is the best! We LOVED it! The room was large with hard wood floors, a well appointed bathroom and windows that opened and made the room airy. On the down side: The airconditioner was useless and the breakfast was 25 Euros (so we just didn't eat at the hotel) We would definately stay here again

We received the weekend rate 89 Euros which was fine. The square is wonderful, lots of restaurants and bars. There is an excellent cafe almost right next door where you can have breakfast since it costs 25 Euros a person in the hotel. The cafe serves great coffee and pastries - we spent 7,20 for two people: cappuchino and pain au chocloate (excellent quality).

Our room was very poor for this class of hotel but all the rooms were being upgraded while we were there. They emptied every room on a floor and left the doors open so we has to pass dozens of spooky empty dark rooms on the way to ours and fight for the lift with the removers! The staff act as if they are doing you a favour by acknowledging your presence. The breakfast is a rip off at E25 if it's not included in your room fee. Great location though and our friends said the new room decorations were attractive. A very 'corporate' place for beaurocrats on expenses.

The hotel when I booked is was a Jolly hotel, and in the few days before I went, became the NH hotel which was confusing to me when I arrived and tried to find the hotel. The rooms are still a bit shabby. The hotel staff are professional but rather more interested in their own conversations than in hotel guests.

This was a perfect hotel to stay in. Lovely surroundings, great placing... The only thing I can think of complaining about was that the breakfast cost 25 euro! Then you are (and I was) much better off going out to a local café and eating yourself half to death for half the price...

After checking in nobody cares of you. so you do not need to pass in front of the reception so it looks like being ina shopping center. But the rooms are OK, spacious, clean and the bathroom very nice.

Good location plus nice hotel and room. Main drawback is that the venere price doesnt include breaksfast - which costs an extra 25Euro per person at the hotel. However there are lots of nice places around and about to get a good breakfast for less than 10Euros. Also reception seemed to be a bit chaotic.

I used to travel to Brussels very often for work and Sablon remains my favourite place to stay. I love the Jolly hotel because it is located in the Place du Sablon, which is a lovely little piazza with lovely restaurants and my favourite chocolate shop Marcolini. The hotel is beautiful, with gorgeous, perfectly clean rooms and good service and is close to Parc metro station on Rue Royale.

This was my second stay at Hotel Jolly Du Grand Sablon. The Hotel is very well located and with easy walking distance of mostpoints of interest in the city. The staff this time around were more helpful than last and a lot more welcoming. I would not eat at the hotel as there are many other venues in the square that are far better value for money, especially breakfast. The free internet was one of the draw cards in booking at the hotel.

A very nice hotel. Definitely 4 star category. he hotel was fine, but the decor in the rooms could stand a minor update. Teh bathroom was spacious, but the hot water pressure was iffy. The mattress was a bit soft and worn for my taste, but the room was quite quiet and that's always a good thing. I'd hoped for a fitness room, but it is an older property and they don't seem to have a space for one. It is in a pretty, quiet, upscale location between bustling historic center and the royal palace and museums. Maximum 10 minutes walk to the center and the central train station. Lots of great restaurants in the neighborhood. I didn't try the food, as many reviewers pointed out it was too expensive. There is a good breakfast cafe 3 minutes walk down the hill. One thing about the location, you won't find convenience stores in the immediate vicinity. You have to walk a few minutes to find them. Nevertheless, if you get a good price, this is a nice place to stay, away from the hubbub and traffic of the center, where the Carrefour, Meridian, and other similar hotels are located.

The porter and men at the front desk were most helpful and welcoming with one exception,a woman at the front desk on the weekend,who when I asked her to make a dinner reservation for us because my french is quite minimal(and she was not busy at all),insisted very rudely that she had called and there was NO POSSIBILITY of a reservation that evening! Later on we walked to the restaurant spoke to the chef,got a reservation and that evening enjoyed a wonderful meal in the restaurant that,though full, had several tables open....an interesting experience! That aside we would not hesitate to return to the hotel and highly recommend it to others. We also enjoyed the elegant location away from some of the more touristy places,the lounge in the lobby for tea or wine in the late afternoon, and the general elegance of the hotel as well as excellent bus service to many of the sights , but would never pay 25 euros for breakfast even if that is the going rate for a hotel breakfast.

We very much enjoyed our stay and thought the position/location was perfect. We hope to return again next year. Do you ever have special discounts for weekend stays out of peak season?

Fabulous location. Front desk staff was a bit unfriendly but might be due to fact that we are Americans. Overall, I would recommend this hotel to others.

Weekend break. The hotel was ideally situated for a walking tourist. The shower was poor, otherwise the room was good. The staff were very efficient.

Hotel looked good, room was fair size and it was in an excellent location, 5 minute walk from La Grand Place and the centre of Brussels. The square the hotel is on is beautiful. This was my first time in Brussels and I'd definately go back here.

The hotel is placed on beautiful Place du Sablon. I thought the hotel is really good and can recommend a stay here for everyone. THowever, the breakfast was not included and would cost 25 Euro extra. Since the price was a bit stiff, I chose to go across the square to Le Pain Quotidien. They serve good breakfast and you get alot for your money! Overall the stay and the hotel was great! I am sure that I will use it for another Brüssel stay.

Sure, it's four star hotel as the staff were keen to point out. It is also pretentious & charges (plenty) extra for everything & overcharged nearly 30% for the room. DO NOT give them your laundry; the prices are ridiculous. The 'business centre' is little more than an uncomfortable cupboard. To be fair, our room was very pleasant.

My husband and I enjoyed our stay at this hotel. It is what I call a boutique hotel. However, I suggest the staff familiarize with the surrounding area when giving directions.

The room was decent and clean. It is pretty close to the Grand Place and I would stay there again. A superior room would be recommended.
