There was a weird odor in the lobby during our arrival and I noticed it whenever we returned to the hotel. One front desk person was competant but not friendly. I liked the location although it was expensive to park and the hotel was difficult to find for people who were driving. But I would probably stay there again.

A very pleasant surprise, as station hotels are not always the best! From the outside the hotel does not look particularly nice, but inside was lovely, and the room, and bathroom, were spotless, stylish and very comfortable

Very nice Hotel, expensive for the kind of rooms offered, a little dated. Service was nice, except the bar lounge area, they bartenders are never there to offer service, and when they come they serve you a drink, and then walk away never to see them again.

It is an excellent hotel and is within walking distance of the Central Railway station. I always try to stay here when I am in Bologna. It is also close to a bus stop where a bus can take you up the Via Indipendenza to the Piazza Maggior in a matter of minutes. The buffet breakfast is superb

A bit pricey for the city; however, it was the best hotel we stayed in (between Rome, Florence, Bologna, Venice, Lecco, Turin, and Falerna). Elegant, well appointed, and professional english-speaking staff. Great location: within minutes walking from station and a nice stroll to the historic center of the city. I appreciated the coffee and tea in the lobby! Also, has a wide range of TV channels (Italian, English, German, French, and Spanish). The only negative is the in-room Internet service (via TV) - limited access to common functions (i.e., typing up a blog entry) and expensive (5 Euros for 24 hours, but I was charged double despite using it only once in two days - I didn't notice till it was too late). Walking from the station is tricky since it is hidden by some buildings and a tree. Most highly recommended.

Functional and did the job. The rooms were clean and the staff accomodating, although the bar area was a bit crap. The location is great, acroos the road from the train station and it was right beside the main shopping areas.

Just east of the train station - don't follow the driving signs if you are on foot, just walk across the street and then east 1/2 block. Because it caters to business travelers, you can get any kind of breakfast (included) which was nice.

We booked early and got a good rate (89 euros double), and this hotel was excellent value at that rate. Not a hotel with any personality, but we wanted a comfortable and efficient hotel next to the railway station, and that is exactly what we got. The area is reported to be seedy late at night, but we saw no signs of anything unsavory.

Conveniently located 2 minutes walk from the station (in front and to the left) on the Piazza Settembre. This is the start of Via Indepedenza lined with many shops and cafes, which leads all the way to the Neptune fountain & Piazza Maggiore at the historic heart of Bologna (15-20min easy walk, undercover.) Very classy hotel for the price 109euros twin per night. Comfortable bed. Large buffet breakfast included. Enjoyed the extra touches- sugared jellies at the bedside, huge range of complimentary toiletries, and sweets by the elevator. During our stay there was a free musical conert for guests only.

We asked for twin rooms through the website and arrived and all that was left was double rooms. The staff barely got us into a twin room and for the price we payed I wouldnt have accepted anything less. But In fairness they got us one. The location is excellent. Right beside the trainstation. The rooms are very small but they were very clean. i thought my stay was very pricey. All in all a lovely hotel though and lovely staff

Took a while for the clerk to find my name in the reservation. TV sound in bathrooms was so loud that the noise from across the corridor from another room was on since 6 in the morning, didn't let us sleep. The luggage rack was way too small. Rooms are smaller than most hotels I stayed in. Hotel is hard to find and to get to. Driver had to go around the block.

Plentiful and healthy buffet breakfast. Room was clean and elegant with comfortable beds, well stocked minibar, inroom safe and inroom movies. Large bath in bathroom with plentiful bathroom supplies and a hairdryer. Good location and easy private parking. Internet facilities in lobby. Great looking restaurant menu.

Staying at the Jolly Hotel de la Gare for the negociated rate of 104,00 € per night for a double room breakfast included was simply a miracle ! The room we had was very spacious, very well furnished and very well sound-proofed from the very noisy surroundings. The location is perfect for travellers arriving to Bologna by airplane as the airport shuttle stops a minute walk away from the hotel, close to the railway station. Breakfast very acceptable and employees taking care of the customers. I would highly recommend this hotel and I will stay at the Jolly Hotel de la Gare on my next trip to Bologna.

Our two nights here were comfortable and generally unremarkable. The breakfast featured a nice range of foods that were fresh and tasty. The location was perfect for us, because we needed proximity to the train and bus stations, but it is a bit of a walk to the true center of Bologna. Tour operators use this hotel for bus trips that need a single night stay in Bologna, so there were big groups checking in and out each day we were there. The hotel is big enough and well enough run to handle them, but if you're looking for a small hotel, this is not it!

My only critism is - The city map provided was very poor quality - One could not read it - it was upside down, back to front. If I were the manager I would be very embarrased.

We had reservations for aDouble Standard room but much to our surprise we were given a Junior Suite, I think. Perhaps this was due to a conference (high occupancy) at the hotel. We were overwhelmed by the room size, decor and cleanliness. The room cost was exactly as quoted through Venere for a double standard. Our stay was for 2 non-weekend nights in June 2004.

As we put our roomnumber to see films and we did not like the films we did not see them but we had to pay an overprice of €30.00. Definitely too much for films we never saw. If the films are not seen by the customers they should not add this amount to the bill.

The prices for hotel rooms are very high in Bologna during times of tradeshows. Venere not only found a room for our family but offered a very reasonable rate! I was very pleased with the services on this website. The Jolly is a nice hotel in which to stay while in Bologna.
