By car
From the South: pass Villach, Möllbrücke and Obervellach towards Mallnitz. From there proceed by the Autoschleuse Tauernbahn car shuttle to Gastein.
From Salzburg: take the Tauernautobahn highway southbound until Bischofshofen; then take the Gasteinertal exit and finally the federal road Bundesstraße 167 until reaching Gasteinertal.

By train
Euro/Intercity trains as well as express trains stop at Bad Hofgastein railway station. Frequent taxi and bus connections to local villages are available.
