Close to the bus station and occupying the third and fourth floor of a Grade A listed terraced building, this welcoming house offers good value accommodation.

The majority of bedrooms have benefited from refurbishment and are smartly furnished in pine. The Elder York is a non smoking establishment renowned for its high level of personal service, attention to detail, clean comfortable rooms and a relaxed atmosphere, where guests return time and time again to their "home from home". The Elder York is centrally located and only 5 minutes walk to all the main attractions.

The Guest House is convenient for: a shopping trip -Harvey Nichols new store is adjacent and we are near many of Edinburgh's famous shops, such as Jenners Department Store; a theatre trip -The Playhouse, Edinburgh's largest theatre, is a 2 minute walk; a city break -Princes Street, the world's famous gardens and of course Edinburgh Castle which is nearby.

The Guest House proprietors are Harry and Shirley Ogilvie. Their wish is to make your visit to Edinburgh enjoyable and comfortable. We have an extensive network of contacts in the City and can help you with directions, local information, arranging reservations in restaurants, guidance on sightseeing, should you need it.

ダブルルーム The Elder York has 13 bedrooms with prices to meet all budgets. Our rooms range from single, twin, double and one family room (1 double bed and 2 single beds). 8 rooms have en-suite facilities and the remaining rooms are suitably positioned for ease of access to the two main bathroom/shower rooms.

Each room has full central heating, constant hot water, colour TV with free-view, ironing facilities, hair dryer, tea and coffee making facilities and free internet access (WiFi). All rooms are supplied with fresh towels and are serviced daily. Guests have a main front door key which allows access to the premises without the bother of unrealistic curfews

By car
Juction 1 on M8 approximately 5.1 miles to Princes Street, onto Queen Street then York Place, Guest House is on the right, next to the Bus Station.

By train
From Waverely Station, go onto Princes Street, cross over to St Andrew Square until you come to the bus station, walk through, guest house is located in Elder Street.

By airplane
From Edinburgh airport, take either the airport bus, which runs every 10 minutes, to Waverely Bridge, then walk up to St Andrew Square Bus Station, walk through bus station, then take the first left. The guest house is on the left hand side, on Elder Street. Alternatively a taxi to the guest house will cost approximately £15.00 to £18.00.

By public transportation
Elder street is at the entrance to St Andrew Square bus station, walk to Elder Street from bus station.

Car parking is readily available at the nearby St James NCP car park (fees apply). We are next to the newly redeveloped Bus Station next to St Andrews Square. We are only a 5 minute walk from the Waverly Railway Station.
