First Hotel Marin is centrally located in the harbor area of Bergen. The Bryggen District, that is the name of the area, is listed among the UNESCO heritage sites, and the 4-star hotel is situated close to some of the Norwegian city's most relevant attractions, such as the Fish Market, the Hanseatic Museum, the cable way etc.
Part of the county of Hordaland, towards the end of the 13th century Bergen became one of the Hanseatic League's most important cities and the Norwegian city's old quayside, Bryggen, which today is on the UNESCO List of World Heritage sites, is where the Saxon Hanseatic merchants lived, enjoying exclusive rights to trade dried cod with the northern fishermen. At the First Hotel Marin, visitors to Bergen can enjoy its historic architecture from a privileged point of view.
