We have been to Orleans twice, stayed at a similar older type hotel. Stayed for 4 days, lots to see in the area, lovely countryside and Cambord is a must. Orleans does not have a great selection of restaurants.

Only stayed 1 night !! Glad to be moving on. Although the room was clean it was very dated and did not come upto the photos on the web. Very dated bathroom with no shower curtain to prevent water going on the floor. The windows in the bathroom had numerous dead flies on them. The lift just held 2 people and was more like a service lift then one for guests. In our opinion this is not a 3 stat hotel, we would rate it as 1 star. The private parking at extra cost is not at the hotel, but an underground car park some 500 yards away, we suggest street parking. Overall we felt that the hotel was shabby. We would not stay again. The centre of Orlean was very good and well worth a visit.

Wir hatten das Gefühl, dass auf Grund der Buchung über venere und den dadurch geminderten Preis eine Abschiebung in ein wenig benutztes im 4. OG gelegenes Zimmer stattfand.

First of all, the price if you book your room at the hotel is the same as if you book it on the web so, no point in booking it ahead through the web. If I hadn't booked through Venere and had gone directly and seen the hotel, not in dreams I would have stayed. Plus, there is an Ibis hotel, right in front, much cheaper and aparently better for the looks. But the worst part is that for 73€ you get from 8am in the morning the worst nightmare in noises because the hotel is 'remodeling' or renovating (very needed) and the guy with the hammer and power drill was right outside the door of our room, talking pretty loud and working with the drill all morning long. When we went to complaint, the lady at the front desk couldn't care less and said the works were anounced. Funny, Then we saw there was a tiny little piece of paper behind her, in FRENCH ONLY, which seemed to say that there would be noise from 9am. 9am is bad,8 am is much worse. As a small detail....bathrooms don't have doors, just a silly curtain. And even without the noise, the place is damp, cheap-looking and expensive for what you get, plus doors close at 10:30 pm and noone to be seen after that. Whatever you need, you better wait till 8am and ask the drill man.

We were very pleased with the accomodations, price and location. The room was spacious, clean, and modern. The location was quiet at night, and within walking distance of downtown and a big shopping mall next to the train station. The staff was very nice and personable. I would strongly recommend it to anyone. wayne LeBlanc

From the moment we arrived, this hotel was welcoming and very comfortable. The owner/manager has to be one of the nicest people you could ever deal with whilst travelling on holiday or business stay. The bedroom was large and comfortable and the bathroom was spacious. If you have a large car, the car park was challenging but honestly was part of the fun. A great little hotel, cant go wrong at that money!!!

Hotel Les Cedres is a nice quiet hotel. Distance to city center on foot is 15 minutes. Room is oké, not very spacious but very clean, wonderful beds. Garden was a disappointment, with a little more care it could be great.

Ons gezin (2 kindjes van 4 en 6) verbleef 1 nacht in een quadruple-kamer. Twee kamers verbonden met een deur. Ruime nette kamers.

Quiet when we were there (one night stopover on bastille night). large rooms, fairly basic but pleasantly quaint, with a nice deep tub in the bathroom. friendly staff who warned us about the steering skills needed to negotiate the tight corners down to the underground car park (extra 7 euros a night - there was plenty of parking outside, so we probably didn't need it, although it did seem to be very secure). great stopover if you're driving back from the far south of france with plenty of restaurants 10 mins walk to the centre of orleans. quiet park with nice kids' play area a minute's walk away. had what looked like a lovely garden to the rear.

Although we had booked our three nights months ahead we were given a room overlooking the street rather than the garden. The street is a short cut between two busy streets and is quite noisy, even late at night. The toilet didn't work, there was only one pillow in the room, one of the two plastic cups supplied had a hole in it and I dribbled wine down my shirt. All these problems were rectified when I mentioned them and we were even given a couple of glass wine glasses. We were moved to a room on the garden side for our final two nights after we complained. The staff were friendly and helpful. The hotel was a short walk to the town center, but if you didn't want to walk down a busy road you had to go through a rather seedy area. We couldn't find any good french restaurants around the hotel and there really isn't much to see in Orleans. We had planned on spending three days just wandering around the town. We ended up using the hotel as a base to visit the small towns on the Loire where we found some excellent restaurants and hotels which were cheaper than our hotel.

We had a room right next to the elevator, so you could hear it each time it moved. You could also hear when other guests spoke a bit louder in the neighbouring rooms. Our room itself was a bit small, the bathroom including bathtub was huge. The staff was very friendly and they spoke english, which was really helpful. The breakfast was not really cheap but it is ok if you don't want to search for a boulangerie or a cafe to take one instead. We paid 8,- Euros per person. You can sit in the back of the hotel looking at the small garden. The location was very good. The hotel is situated 10 minutes footwalk from the center of the city. It is situated in a quiet street. With a bit of luck we got a parking place in the stret right next to the hotel. We just left the car there and walked our way through Orleans. I would recommend the hotel to anyone who wants to stay a few days in Orleans.

The hotel was quite homely and comfortable. We arrived in the rain so our impression was affected by the weather. It was in a quiet location and safe to park outside. The bed was comfortable and the room was clean. On the more negative side, our bathroom was very small and lacked privacy.Breakfast was satisfactory.

Spacious, quiet rooms and attractive breakfast room and veranda. Staff friendly and helpful. Granted two special requests without hesitation: needed a defective lamp replaced in the room and an early breakfast the day of our departure. Had no problem finding parking on street (May, 2006). Modern amenities, yet quintessentially French: minuterie, polochon on bed, toilet separate from rest of bathroom, large room key. Loved our experience.

Central, 10' walk from historical centre. Nice and quiet rooms. We did sleep very well. However, you need a look at e.g. mappoint.msn.com in order to really find it because the map on the internet is too small. But is a place to considering to return to.

Very good standard of hotel in a central, but not too busy part of Orleans. It is situated in a street of elegant buildings and has parking for two/three vehicles right outside the hotel, allocated for tourists. The French style breakfast available was abundant and good value.

Enjoyed our stay at the hotel. Our family had a section of the hotel to ourselves. Our two boys slept in an adjoining bedroom and there was a bathroom for the four of us to share. The rooms were airy and spacious. There is some traffic noise but the surroundings are generally pleasant. On my first visit to France I had found Paris crowded and somewhat dirty. Orleans was a refreshing change and I would recommend it as a stopping off point on one's way to the Loire valley.
