877-662-6988The Groves Guest House in York is a quirky building with an interesting history. It was built in late Victorian times for a rich Leeds tobacconist, and was later used as a paymasters office by the army during the first and second world wars. Today, it offers comfortable guest house accommodation for business travellers and tourists to York, while still retaining many of its original features, such as the main staircase and leaded windows.
Guests to this charming guest house will find all of the facilities that you would expect from a small property, such as wireless Internet access throughout and free parking.
Please note that The Groves is not suitable for children under 5 years old
After leaving the Ibis in disgust we were so lucky to find the Groves....had a wonderful stay....best breakfast in York.

Very quiet,comfy room. Excellent bathroom. More than enough choice for breakfast and very helpful. Would stay again and would recommend to others.

Perfect place to stay, a short 10 minute walk to the city walls. Best option for accommodation in York for value for money and location. Lovely hotel and neatly appointed. Would definitely return.

Enjoyable stay at reasonable cost and very convenient but quiet location. Breakfast was very nice. The room was simply but nicely decorated. The only problem I had was that the shower and wash basin were on the small size and the bathroom generally rather cramped.

Nice well kept house with parking off street on main road with bus stop not far away.Room a bit cramped with double bed in single room but over all quite nice ,room needs a fan during summer if windows open noise from the road is quite loud and stuffy if closed but over all quite pleasant

Due the historic nature of The Groves Guest House, no two of the 20 guest bedrooms are the same in size or shape. You can however, be assured of a good night's sleep in comfy double or single beds and a pleasant stay thanks to the wide range of amenities available in each room including flat screen digital television and complimentary tea & coffee making facilities. Most of the rooms have also wireless internet access (small charge payable) as well as trouser press and working desk.All of the guest bedrooms have an en suite bathroom with a shower (one or two have bath with shower over). There is also one twin room which is on the ground floor and is suitable for wheelchair users or those less able - please request it in advance as this room is often booked out well in advance.
