Giandomenico was a delightful host. The place was quite easy to find using his directions. He gave us the names of two restaurants near by of which one was outstanding (Trattoria Porta Romana) and the other nice. This is a good base for visiting Etruria and Viterbo and is highly recommended.

My travel companion and I are both 60 and we absolutely loved La Meridiana. We were met in town by Giandominico wheo lead the way to the ranch. You do need a car to get around from the farmhouse. Once you get your bearings it is easy. Our accommodations were simple and efficient. The apartment was so authentic and rustic and comfortable. The dogs and cats and horses on the property were great for us, being animal lovers. The pool was perfect with spectacular views. Giandominico, our host was gracious and very helpful as we found most of the Italians to be. It is a great location for a home base, very close to the center of Viterbo and close the the Roman Baths and many other fabulous towns. If you are looking for all the major conviences of a four star then this is not for you, but if you are a seasoned travelor witha sense of adventure and a go with the flow type of person then you will love it here. Many Thanks to Giandominico and his Family for sharing their home with us. Sincerely, Barbara Malandra and Fran Levy

Absolute nightmare to find, couldn't have been worse, however owner appreciates this and makes sure to give directions, far from town, car required, country lodge-ish accommodation, 2 barking dogs, 2 cute kittens, owner nice, expensive for what it was, very quiet though, couldn't have breakfast since we were leaving early, which was disappointing, all in all a decent stay, although expensive for 80 euros, i'd say

The location outside Viterbo is very pleasant, and we got a suite when we were expecting a room. It was a little difficult to find La Meridiana, since the small private road off the main road splits in two without a sign at the split for La Meridiana.A sign there would be very helpful. The owner runs a riding stable, so if you like the country and like horses, you will enjoy La Meridiana.

We were well received. The rooms were very unique and the setting was great. The directions were a little difficult, however. Coming from Orte on the four lane highway, when you exit Viterbo Nord, it would probably help if the directions indicated that you should drive all the way through Viterbo (following the signs for Roma)BEFORE you started measuring the 3.5 kilometers on the Strada Cimino. We started to measure the 3,5 kilometers when we exited the 4 lane highway, but we still found it okay. It may also help to have a more detailed map showing the route from the exit to the turn off for the Club Roncone ridng school (which was very well marked). The dogs kept woke us up a bit, but it was no problem. I really enjoyed reading the local Viterbo recipes that were in the kitchen. I would definitely like to stay at La Meridiana again. The only problem was to find the place when arriving after dark - better driving instructions needed

La Meridiana is a converted building of 1690, handsomely restored. The family that runs it is exceptionally friendly, hospitable and helpful. You will need a car to reach it (it's about 90 minutes from Leonardo da Vinci airport), but once there you will find yourself in handsome country and very quiet surroundings. While we were there we were the only guests, and we felt much more like houseguests than travellers in a hotel. We found it ideal as a place to spend our first two nights in Italy, recovering from jetlag, but it would also be good for longer stays, since each room (or small apartment, really) has at least some kitchen facilities. There are no real indoor public areas, and we had our breakfast out of doors, under a walnut tree. The place is beautiful.
