Helpful and friendly staff. Despite the outside temperature the room was warm. As it looked over an inner courtyard it was quiet. The room was spacious, the bed clean and the bathroom clean and fairly spacious. The haidryer worked which is not always the case. I cannot comment on the breakfast as I didn't take it. The reception area was also clean. The free (unlimited) wi-fi was a bonus for my daughter. The surrounding area was fine with a tram line right outside th door and was only a 5-10 minute walk from 2 great cafes and from the Rathaus (and the u-Bahn stiop there). Although it snowed heavily one night in typical Viennese fashion it had all been cleared from the footpaths and roads by 9.00 a.m. when we went out. The hotel is also near some interesting sights on the Lange Gasse and not far from the Votive Church. There were a number of good-looking restaurants nearby although we only managed a couple of them.

Excuse me for being a spoiled traveler from North America, but for your star rating and price I would normally expect Air Conditioned rooms. Fortunately our stay was during a cooler period, but we still could only sleep with the window open. Unfortunately, construction began at 6:45 just opposite our window, so I had to close it until our desired waking hour. We have laws here against early morning noise! Although the above thoroughly annoyed us, we still think the Baronesse is wonderful.

1. Good location, not too far from downtown: Tram stop closeby. Nice neighborhood (although we didn't like the Schoenborn park). 20 min walking distance to Hofburg. 2. Room and services: Good breakfast, a pleasant contrast to what we have been exposed to when travelling in the US. Room facing Lange Gasse was nice and fairly quiet. Good mattresses, modern though smallish bathroom.

Great place and district. Very close to trams and buses. Supermarket and restaurants near by. Very friendly and helpful staff (thanks Inna and Denise!). Excellent breakfast and very kind service there too. The renovated rooms are better but all in all they have excellent set up and the bathrooms are efficient and very clean. Super super deal! Will go back if in Vienna. Thanks!

First, the staff is the best in Europe of all hotels we stayed at the last couple of years. Excellant help. Second, the appreciation for the hotel grows on you the longer your stay. We stayed 6 nights and will definettly stay here again.

we stayed for six days, the rooms were spacious cool and clean, the bathrooms are basic but new, staff was friendly and competent. Breakfast is good. What made me very nervous arriving was that we followed the directions by train and tram, when the tram had seventeen stops I saw red and was ready to cancel the whole deal, I tought we were in the middle of nowhere, however there is another angle to it, it was only two short stops away from the center and was conveniently located price quality it is a good address.

My first time in Vienna. The trams 43, 44 are a short 1/2 block away and go directly to the Metro station two stops away. From there the metros or D tram go everywhere. The hotel was very spacious, clean, and had a very adequate breakfast in an attractive breakfast room. Wi-fi was strong in my room on the third floor and free. The elevator is a jewel: black wrought iron with a red leather seat...wonderful after long days of sightseeing.

Stayed initially with 2 older daughters and an infant in a large triple room. It was clean, beds comfortable and very quiet, still not crowded even with crib . Breakfast room large, the food was varied and good. Staff very attentive and pleasant. Location a bit out if immediate central, but only a 1 block walk to trams and 4 blocks to u-bahn. Wi-fi fast and good access from room. Would absolutely stay here again!

Our room was quiet, sunny, well appointed, and spacious by American or European standards. The breakfast room was extremely comfortable and cheerfully decorated. The generous buffet was fresh, well stocked and full of variety. The staff welcomed every guest with a smile and a pot of coffee. Denise at the front desk was friendly, professional and well informed. We highly recommend this hotel.

The hotel is out from the famous ring, but it has a very nice neighbourhood with local restaurants which I recommend. Buy a 72-h Vienna transportation card (13,9 eur), it takes max 10 min to get to the city center. If you like a strong breakfast - this is your place to stay! Very welcoming staff, definately shall return!

It's a little bit expensive but it's justified!!: Great place, great welcoming, A "frühstück" rich and "local" and above all a central localisation in Wien! So a really good stay. If I return in Wien I'll certainly choose this pension!

The staff were exceptionally helpful, friendly and knowledgeable. If they did not have a quick answer, they were more than ready to get it for you. They were accommodating with every request. The rooms were very comfortable and clean. Nice beds and updated bathrooms. We had both an old room and a newly-updated room, and both were great. If noise bothers you, request a courtyard room. Non-smoking rooms are available and actually do not smell like smoke! The breakfast was amazing. Vienna is an expensive city, but this hotel was a good value. We - two female platonic friends traveling together - felt safe here. Nice neighborhood with easy transportation options on public transportation. Our trip took us back to Vienna for one night after our initial stay, and we enthusiastically returned to Pension Baronesse.

The service was good, the staffs were friendly, the only problem is the bathroom smell smoke, though it was a non smoking room and it bother me a lot because I can´t stand that smell. The staff offered me to change the room, but she couldn´t guarantee that the room would be free from smoke. So I decided not to move, and she gave me an air freshener. And the hall also very smokey. Other than that the hotel was good.

The hotel is nice situated to the centre of town, it's within easy walking distance and there are plenty of places around for nice lunch or dinner. Try to avoid getting a room at the front of the hotel in summer, the noise from the trams, cars and public outside, even in the middle of the night, will keep you wide awake.

Others comments served my realistic expectations. Somewhat rundown hallways, leading to a clean and spacious room. I comment that as a non smokers room, a simple wash of the curtains would give a breath of freshness to the room. The breadfast area and service reflects the attention of a nice hotel and counterbalances the disapointment one may have felt. The pension is well located and we travelled to and from the airport on a great public transport system. With the aim of a short and affordable stay in Vienna, we were not disapointed.

An older hotel that has seen better days. Staff helful; good English. Breakfast very good. Not a lot in he immediate area, but there is an excellent restaurant hidden next door. Biggest drawback the distance to the parking--a long way to haul bags but not far enough for a taxi.

Well upto the high standards and reasonable prices of the two other pensions in the group (Pertschy and Aviano) where I have also stayed. They also gave me a wholly unexpected 10% off the bill -which made it even better value for money.

This pensione is quite old and this showed in the hallways which were very old and unkept. However, the rooms were very nice, large, and clean. The bathrooms were also very clean and nice. The staff was very helpful and nice. The breakfast room was much more modern and quite nice. The location is good and right on the tram line.

The room is spacious, but the bathroom really narrow...The bed is unconfrotable, specially those terrific pillows! The location is quite far away from the downtown, and in the sourroundings nothing to see/do. So you have to take subway and keep walking to do everithing...not so funny with -5 centigrades outside!

This was our second holiday booked via Venere.com. As our first (in Rome) was a great disappointment we were a little anxious. However an August special of "stay 3 nights and pay for 2" convinced us to give it a try. The Venere system failed to be able to incorporate this offer in the web communicated price and as a telephone number/email address lacked from Baroness' own website, I had to call international inquiries to get in touch with Baroness. Baroness confirmed the special offer. We arrived quite late on a Friday, nevertheless we had a great welcoming. The lift carrying us to 3rd floor, was so romantic, dark wood with a tiny little sofa.... The room was very spacious decorated in classic style with a tremendous chandelier, balcony, a little table with 2 chairs and all the standard features. We only missed a little kettel to make a cup of coffee in the evening. The pension offered a continental breakfast in a very nice restaurant facility. In the overall we were very happy with this pension, and would recommend it, should any of our friends travel to Wien.

I knew already Pension Baronesse because 5 years ago I was in Wien for fellowship in Nuclear Medicine and I stayed in Pension Baronesse. For these holidays I gave an advice to my friends to choose this Hotel. When I'm coming to Wien I prefer to be there.
