I would highly recommend Villa Angelica to anyone wishing to spend sometime in Venice. This small hotel is excellent with attentive staff, pleasant surroundings and good value for money. Lastly the Lido is perfect for getting away from the crowds in the city and seeing something of how Venetians live.

Nice house and garden, room was not too small and even had a little fridge in it. Carpet looked quite shabby though, which influenced the impression we had of the room negatively. Bathroom, bed and breakfast table were clean and were cleaned every day. Breakfast didn't have a huge selection but was fine/standard and will be enough for a normal eater until you get your lunch. The rooms had VERY thin walls which meant you heard everything going on outside in the hallway, doors banging, people talking etc. Was okay with earplugs. Personnel was very nice, one lady could even speak German excellently, all others could speak English. Walk to the vaporetto to the main island will take you about 5-10 minutes, the vaporetto itself takes about 15 to 20 minutes depending on where in Venice you want to go. Vaporetto from P.le Roma (Bus station you arrive at from Treviso airport) takes about 35 minutes. Overall normal value for money and comfortable stay, we would opt for a hotel on the main island next time though if we had the chance.

It is well worth the price and the staff were very nice. The only problem for me was the breakfast was a little too simple without any meat.Maybe that was typical Italy breakfast.

Nice hotel, gentle people, the only thing that we did not know is, that we had to have breakfast in our room or outside in the garden, so we had the coffee outside and it was really cold.

Absolutely PERFECT! Cleanliness of the rooms, staff attitude, service, location... You don't need to stay at crowded and stressing Venice, Lido is SO EASY TO REACH by vaporetto, and you have the beach 3 minutes from the hotel. WE LOVED VILLA ANGELICA, THANK YOU SO MUCH FOR A PERFECT STAY AT LIDO!!

On arrival one is confronted by a locked gate and the house is out of sight down a long passage. The bell is not obvious and we pushed it tentatively several times before there was a click and the gate opened, leaving us to find our way in.We did not appreciate a reminder placed in our room on the evening before departure, that we must vacate before 10am. Otherwise the accommodation was fine and the breakfast in the garden ample and very pleasant.

Very welcoming and friendly staff, clean rooms, small but well functioning bathrooms. No real towels, they are thin like a kitchen towel but changed daily. Plenty of choice for breakfast, but missing any ham or eggs. If you can live with the breakfast area being squashy and tiny, and the breakfast just piled up on a tray on your table, this is a comfortable well priced stay.

Excellent location - nice and quiet Lido (where Villa Angelica is located) is a very good place to stay if you like a mix of sightseeing and beachlife (but unfortunately most of the wonderful sand-beach belongs to some hotels so you can only walk there but it is only allowed to lie at a very small public area)- on the othter side you only make a little/nice walk to the waterbus-station and you are at Marcus Plaza in about 15 minutes.

I was looking in the low price range, and this was a reasonable option. It is not three minutes from the vaperetto, more like 10. Very good welcoming staff, who had excellent English and were very helpful with everything that we wanted to do. The main problem was the breakfast, which had to be ordered the night before, and consisted of very little, and all of it pre-packed. Cheese turned out to the Philadelphia packs; no fresh fruit or juice. Only one cup of tea or coffee per person. The only place to have breakfast was in the garden, or if it rained in your room which was not so good. However, we were generally satisfied as we were out all day, and it was one of the best priced places on the website. I would stay here again, although I would probably review the market again next time - and with Venice, there always is a next time!

The villa was clean and adequate for a 3 night stay. Staff very friendly, welcoming and most helpful. The garden area where we ate breakfast was a little small, but fine. The 3 bedroom room is a little cramped. There could have been more on the menu for breakfast. Overall, very friendly, most helpful, the receptions staff go out of their way to help. The only criticism would be the noise from either the water pipes or air con during the night, we couldn't make out where it was coming from as we were too tired anyway after walking so much around Venice. Would definitely stay there again though!

When we arrived we received a very warm welcome. The room itself was fine but it was on the first floor next to the reception area and every time the phone rang or people were talking you heard all of it in the room. Staying on Lido was a nice change from the main part of Venice. It was much more relaxing. We did have some problems with wrong information about transportation to Burano and the night clerks don't seem to speak English but other than that our stay was great.

Villa Angelica is a delightful hotel set on the quieter Lido making it a nice place for my son and I to escape to after a busy day in Venice. The staff were very welcoming from the first e-mail correspondence and couldn't have been more helpful. The room was comfortable and pleasantly furnished. Unfortunately due to bad weather we didn't have the chance to take breakfast in the garden. I'm only sad that we just stayed the one night.

Very nice, good value, but a) Noise travels rather easily, especially between lobby and our ground floor room. In particular, they could easily improve sound insulation for the room door and the gap underneath it to stone floor. b) Breakfast is a bit feeble and the organisation is poor: weird system for booking what you want and then you don't always get it. Also, no butter on two successive days because they had run out; they did even know where the supermarkets are because they told us.

The Villa Angelica was excellent value for money. The location was quiet and within easy distance of the Vaporetto stops (6-7 min walk)and a selection of very good quality restaurants. The staff were welcoming, friendly and very efficient and dealt very helpfully with our endless stream of questions! The room and bathroom were excellent and the continental breakfast was as expected. The only small thing was the heating in our room was out of order. Not a problem during our stay, but could have been had the weather been inclement. Overall, though, we would recommend the Villa Angelica very highly indeed.

We stayed for one night, arriving very late (13.00) we received a good welcome. This was a last minute booking in high season and the personalised email communication was excellent and really inspired confidence. We hoped to stay longer but the hotel was full. Anna the proprieter/manager phoned around lots of local hotels to find us other accommodation and did a deal for us with a 4*hotel which saved us money and provided a wonderful holiday. Breakfast at Hotel Angelica was very enjoyable, served in the garden in mid October. Would not hesitate to book here again.

Very enjoyable - very friendly and efficient. We loved being on Lido - just a quick boat ride got you anywhere. We had a wonderful stay, staff very helpful. If you want to save some money on your accomodation and still have a great time in Venice, this is an excellent choice of hotel to stay in. Anna is very helpful and prompt in replying emails prior to our stay and during our stay. Transportation to and from Lido is excellent to other parts of Venice. It takes approx 10 minutes from Lido to St Mark's Square by water taxi #1. Transportation from Lido to the airport (even at 4 AM) by Alilaguna line is excellent. We would stay here again if we ever had the chance to visit Venice in the near future.

Mangelhafte Geräuschdämmung: man versteht jedes Gespräch bzw. TV-Programm aus allen Zimmern. Die Gesamtansicht des Hotels auf der Homepage ist grob gefälscht. Uns ist schleierhaft, wie das Hotel zu seinen Bestnoten gekommen ist.

Hotel was OK, place very guiet. After overcrowded Venice it was nice to return to quiet place. Room clean, but rather small. first night was nice, but next not so nice, because family with children arrived and we heard through the wall all children were doing in the room. Breakfast was very poor. When we arrived they asked us to choose from the list what we want to eat in the morning. The list consisted of coffee, juice, bread, butter, cheese, jam, biscuit. We had to choose how much bread we want, how much cheese. regarding playground for children - there was only swing. Also hotel area is rather small and rather close to other houses. But for 2 nights it was OK.

Modest but very clean hotel. We've been there for three nights and it was just perfect. Choise for breakfast isn't that great but for Italy it seems to be more than adequate. Due to the location of the hotel it's quiet, but also a little far from Venice (takes about 30 minutes to go to San Marco place).

We live in Italy, near Napoli, so the visit to Villa Angelica and the Lido di Venezia was quite an excellent and refreshing break. Nice hotel in a nice quiet part of Lido but very handy to the vaporetta. Rooms are clean and the owners are very friendly. Just make sure you don't get put in a room next to an obnoxiously loud american as the walls aren't that thick. Apart from that, Lido is definitely checking out.

My wife and I stayed at the Hotel Villa Angelica for 5 nights and can thoroughly recommend it. The Lido itself is easily accessible from Venice but is a lot quieter, slower and far more relaxed. Everywhere in the hotel was spotlessly clean, the rooms were bright, modern and attractive. Every morning we were promptly served a breakfast in the garden at the rear of the building at the time we had specified. The breakfast menu was selected from a list that we completed the previous evening and we thought the quality was excellent. The staff were all very helpful and friendly. If we ever decide to return to Venice we would have no hesitation in staying on the Lido at Hotel Villa Angelica. It is an ideal venue for couples with or without children.

A very nice, quite small hotel on Lido of Venezia. The room was pretty and clean but not really spacious. The towels needed getting used to because they looked more like sheets or tablecloth :-) If you want to get dry after having a shower, you should use your own towels. The service was very friendly and helpful. The breakfast was a little poor: unfortunately no eggs and no kind of sausages were served. But the coffee was great! The location can't be better: a short 5 minutes walk to get to the beach and 10 minutes to the ferries. The surrounding was quiet and nice. Parking space is not available in the hotel. For us it was no problem to find a free parking spot but maybe we were just lucky devils?! All in all Villa Angelica offers a good quality for a low rate.

We really enjoyed our stay here. The Lido is only 10 minutes by water taxi to St Marks, so you are close to all the sights but you don't have to stay in the centre of all the hustle and bustle- a perfect combination. Beautiful house situated in a very quiet area. Excellent location, just 10 minutes from the water bus station. Friendly staff always ready to help you. Beautiful and convenient location on Lido. Good to be away from crowds of Venice proper. 5 min. walk to beach, town center, and vaporetto stop. 15 min. to Venice via Vaporetto. Usual Italian breakfast, roll, juice, and coffee. Nice staff, most spoke limited English. Spotless room and modern bath. Very safe location, which was important to a mother & daughter travelling alone. Walls between rooms a little thin allowing us to hear bathroom water, etc. We had quiet "neighbors" , but if not noise might be a problem. Would definitely recommend this B & B.

Villa Angelica is an ideal place to stay when visiting Venice. Located on Lido, it is a short ferry-ride away from the city itself. The boats run frequently and the docks are a pleasant 5-minute walk from the hotel. The staff was very welcoming and helpful and friendly, with many suggestions of things to do and places to eat on Lido. The room was large enough, with a table and two chairs and large closet in addition to the bed, TV, small refrigerator. A 'mini-bar' offered water and cold drinks at the same prices as found in the stores, not inflated as they so often are. A nice breakfast, including very good bread rolls, is offered in the small back garden under a gazebo-style shelter when the weather is fine. It is also possible to have breakfast in your room. Staying on Lido gives the visitor a completely different experience as opposed to staying in Venice itself, as you spend much time on the water. A 3-day boat pass allows you to hop on and off the ferries, boats, buses without waiting in line to purchase tickets each time, so you tend to use the boats more frequently.
