The manager, Maria, was overwhelming in her welcoming. She tried to be very personal and advised us in routes and food. We loved the personal touch very much

Very friendly wellcome, paid at arrival, seemed to be very friendly and helpfull, but never seen after cash. Suggested Restaurant was pour and expensive, breakfast only in one hour fix time gap, all packed, not ready at beginning. As guest you must fight with the coffee machine. She wasn't able to match it.

Santa Margherita is gem buried in the haystack of Venice. It's not easy to find at first, but it is a great place to be when you want to get away from the hubbub of San Marco or Rialto. Rooms were very clean. Breakfast service was topnotch. Bathroom was one of the best I saw in Italy for size and modernity. And Campo Santa Margherita and Campo San Barnaba are both five minute walks away with restaurants and shops and not nearly so crowded or overpriced as those in the more tourist centric areas of town.

Lovely house, short distance to place st margherite, which ist really nice and offers good restaurants and cafés. About 10 minutes walk to Venice Markusplatz, few minutes to the nearest vaporetto station. Good place to stay at a very reasonable price. Not far from the railway station.

At last, a single room that wasn't cupboard size, but spacious and with air conditioning! Staff were friendly and helpful. Small kitchen facility allows guests to prepare simple meals at any time. Quiet location minutes away from Campo Santa Margherita and about a 15-minute walk from the Accademia.

Lovely place, so friendly, very clean and quiet, centrally located with easy walking access to all places in Venice, with good restaurants nearby. I have been recommending the place to all who hear about my trip to Venice. I stayed for 3 weeks and enjoyed every minute. A suggestion: for passengers arriving with suitcases, it is so much easier to take the Vaporetto (waterbus) to the Ca'Razzonica stop on Line 1 from Piazzale Roma. No need to wait in lineups for the vaporetto ticket. Have 6 Euro ready and you can pay on board to the employee who opens and closes the gates of the boat. At the Ca' Razzonico stop, walk straight ahead for about 5 minutes to arrive at the small street where the Guesthouse is - no bridges to cross with your suitcase. It takes about 45 minutes but it is a good introduction to Venice. The alternative of walking from the Central Piazzale Roma is much more difficult: many bridges to climb up and down with your luggage, street signs that are not very clearly indicated. It may look like a short walk but rolling your suitcases up and down all those steps and stopping to ask for directions finally does not compare to the facility and beauty of the vaporetto ride.

I enjoyed my stay here. Nice location in Venice, with vaporetto stop nearby (5 min walk) I had a room at the front side of the house. With the window open, you will hear people walking and talking at night. But with the windows closed it is fine. There is airco and a little fridge in the room. The room was clean. Bathroom had a good shower. Single bed was a little bit small. Breakfast is between 8.30-9.30 which I found a bit late.

Maria, who welcomed us was really friendly and made us immediately feel like at home. Rooms were good and clean, only the matress was a bit too hard for me so I got a little back problem. Otherwise the location was really good and because of the small kitchen, we could do our own meals whenever we wanted to. Good value for money.

The guesthouse was perfect for a independent traveler like me. It was my 4th time visiting Venice and I speak Italian, it was like having my own apartment in one of the most charming neighborhoods of Venice. Around the corner is ponte Pugni, also a friendly bar Pugni, where they treated me like one of the local from day one. I love it there! Maria (the daughter) and Benedicto (the farther) were warm, welcoming and helpful, making my stay there a breeze. With a small shared kitchen I could make all the coffee and tea I would want and cook(not that I would--too many delicious options around for dining out). Amay, the maid was lovely and always asked how my day is going. I love it there, I would return and stay there again. Private bathroom in room, great hot water pressure all day. Heating unit in room. I was very happy I stay there.

Very friendly, clean, fresh and comfortable; good atmosphere with staff and other guests and very helpful with advice and support. The manager is genuinely interested in her guests and in helping them have a good time. The guesthouse is small, relaxed and stylish at the same time. A very ample buffet breakfast is a good time to meet other guests and get tips on what to see etc. although its also easy to be quiet and keep to yourself if you prefer. A bonus is that there are facilities for catering for your own lunch or dinner - helpful in an expensive city! The only downside is the chiming of the nearby church clock - but probably this is a feature of the city generally. Set against this, you are right by the lovely Campo di Santa Margherita and very central and convenient for all of the city and the Grand Canal waterbus. I strongly recommend this guesthouse.

I loved this place, with its stylish, pretty, modern Italian decor, its absolute quiet, its comfortable furnishings, electric jug etc.,its kitchen/eating area, and its nearness to vaporetto, squares, markets, little shops. Although this is a guest house, and owners were off-site, they were extremely helpful, appearing within minutes of a phone call, and clearly enjoyed their guests. Breakfast was substantial and varied. Atmosphere was relaxed, quite luxurious, warm, quiet, efficient. This exceeded my expectations, and I recommend it.

On arrival for our first visit to Venice we received a warm welcome to St. Margherita Guest House. We were two seniors aged over 70 and a young man of 20. There was a kitchen with cooker and microwave etc. at guests' disposal, also tea/coffee making facilities in the very clean rooms. The location is very good, only a short distance from Vaporetto and about a 10/15 minute walk from central bus and train station. Breakfast was adequate and included cereals, yogurt and fruits. We were extremely pleased with our visit and recommend this accommodation.
