The rooms are quite nice but the staff are unfriendly and they don't have an elevator. The breakfast is served in the room which is nice but the croissant and piece of bread are not great to taste. I requested for an iron and they couldn't be bothered with actually responding to my request. I found much better options as I walked around ... closer to St Mark's Square.

The rooms were tired and the carpet dirty. But the worst part was the young man at the front desk. He was just rude and not helpful. The next day we found out that he is the owner's son.

The staff at Residenza Goldoni was very welcoming and helpful, especially since we needed some help in English. They were attentive and courteous, and arranged tours as requested. Even though our room was on the 5th floor, we didn't mind as it has prepared us for the rest of our holiday in Italy! The room was small but very comfortable, and spotlessly clean. Residenza Goldoni is perfectly located in Venice, easily within walking distance of many of the attractions. I highly recommend it!

Really great place to stay! The room was really great, with nice carpet, bed cover and Venician-looking wallpapers. The best thing about the hotel was the quietness and quality of the bed. It was really dark when the lights were off and super quiet so we could sleep in the morning extremely well and recuperate from the jet-lag. Our room didn't have a great window view (towards an interior court) but in Venice streets are narrow and the only way of getting a nice view is to be located by a canal and then you have to pay a lot. The room was so nice that I thought about looking outside on the second day only. There is no big lobby but that's ok, who care's about hanging out in a lobby while you're in Venice!? There were flyers providing info for operas and concerts and we ended up going to see an opera for quite cheap (30 euros), which is a fantastic experience that we highly recommend. The bathroom had a heated floor, which was nice, and a heat towel rack. It's got a shower bathtub which worked well, but beware of flooding the floor are not careful about closing the door/curtain thing properly. This happened to us on the first day but the house keeping cleaned up everything and every was fine by the time we came back. No free internet but possibility to buy internet time from a wifi system. The hotel entrance is on a small street but is nicely located and the instructions on how to get there are good. From the train station, you take the boat puclic transit which will get you to the Rialto boat station. Then it's less than a 5-min walk. It's close to St. Marco's basilica and right within the touristic neighborhood of Venice. The people working there were very nice and friendly and kept our suitcase for free during our last day after checking out.

Very good location. Hotel staff very helpfull. Do not take a room above the 2nd floor in the summer-A/C has trouble keeping up. We were on 4th floor and it was hot. Also, no lift, so you need to carry bags up stairway.

We went in sept 2008. Nice little b&b hotel that is a stone throw away from Rialto bridge. The hotel room is small (washroom is also very small) but this is Europe so its expected. One thing is there is no elevator/lift so we had to drag the luggages up to the 3rd floor. The breakfast was not that great only several cold croissants and a glass of orange juice. But this is Venice i guess for the price we paid for it was ok. Will probably stay in this hotel again when we visit venice in the future.

Venice is all about getting lost, so best if you take the water taxi from the station as explained on the website, then the hotel is pretty easy to find. We didn't and lost direction. Only complaint is that the breakfast is the bare minimum and the worst coffee we have had in all of Italy. The room was nice and warm during a very cold spell and particularly one gentleman at reception was very friendly and talkative. Nothing fancy, but more than adequate for our purpose. We stayed 3 nights and was out exploring most of the day.

The room, although spacious and comfortable, was not the cleanest and lacked any decoration. The carpets were dirty and the walls bare. A good carpet cleaning and some pictures on the wall would do wonders. With that said, the towels and sheets were clean and the bed was comfortable. Also, the room was quite warm. The towel heater in the bathroom was piped into the hot water line and was always on, leaving the bathroom (and the sleeping quarters unless you kept the bathroom door shut) quite warm. We needed to keep the window open to keep the room comfortable. The staff was great. Very helpful. Good English. The room was priced as quoted on Venere.com. The included breakfast (continental in style, bread and coffee/juice, but no fruit) was very good and delivered to the room at whatever time you requested. Also, the location to the Rialto bridge was great as were the surrounding restaurants, cafes and bars.

This was one of the best and most welcoming hotels we stayed in, as we traveled in Athens, Rome, Florence, Paris, and Venice. The room was superb and the staff friendly and efficient. The location was about as good as it can be, near the Rialto Bridge and still close to San Marco. We will most definitely return.

Residenza Goldoni delivered what it promised online. A clean and pleasant room, good breakfast delivered to the room, excellent location just 2 blocks from the Rialto bridge and 5 minutes from Piazza San Marco, and what really mattered to us, an excellent internet connection in the room (paid separately but reasonably priced). We had one problem only, and although we asked twice that it be fixed, it was not: the bathroom door into the room did not close properly.

The price of staying in Venice is high, and this was no exception. The room was small and on the top floor with 5 flights of steps, so we didn't think it was worth the price. However, there aren't any alternatives in the city, and the service was excellent, so overall it was a pleasurable experience.

The hotel is situated next to the Rialto Bridge in the centre of Venice. This is great! We had a warm welcome from the owners who spoke French and English. Everything was excellent. Only breakfast was a little poor. It was enough but there was no choice of food. This is a good hotel for people who are looking for a nice sleepingplace in the hart of all the beautifull things that Venice offers.

The hotel is excellent located between Rialto (2 or 3 blocks) and San Marco (4 or 5 blocks). Considering the prices in Venice, this hotel has a good relation between price and quality. The only problem maybe that there is no lift, so this should be considered... but the rest is great!

The Goldoni Residence is very close to the Rialto bridge, right in the heart of Venice. The quality/price was one of the best that I found when booking a place to stay in Venice. The room had space and was always clean during our stay. We stayed for 3 nights in the Residenza Goldoni and there are only two negative aspects to point out: - On the third day we couldn't take a shower in the morning because the water was cold - It was nice to have the breakfast in bed, but it wasn't enough to make a person satisfy.

My husband and I spent New Year's Eve in Venice. Dec2008. The RG is in a GREAT location. You can easily walk from RIALTO Bridge to the Hotel, only 3 blocks away. Near the main attractions. Easy to walk to everywhere. Good places to eat around. Very Clean. Very helpful staff. Run by owners who speak both English and Spanish. The only drawback is that you need to carry your bags to your room (2nd to 4th floor), NO LIFT. Only Stairs. (We had heavy bags) Great Heating in rooms and common areas.

Staff was very friendly and obliging except that they do not help in taking luggage to your room. Access to room only for the fit and well. We had a room at the top of the building and it was very strenuous to get to it with our luggage, I had to do two trips, one with my suitcase and then go back to reception for my wife's. Definately not for the unfit senior travellers.

I was pleasantly surprised by this hotel. The room was the largest I have ever had in Venice and the owner was really friendly. The only downside was finding the hotel as the directions on Venere are terrible. The breakfast provided is great and the fact it is delivered to your room is great. This is a great place to stay. It is also very quiet for Venice which was a bonus.

The hotel was quaint and the front desk staff during the day couldn't have been nicer. We had a lot of luggage so getting the bags up the four flights of stairs through the narrow stairway was a challenge, but the rooms were clean, the TV worked, and the air conditioned hummed so I have no complaints. That being said, if you stay here you should be prepared to climb steps as there is no elevator and the room while clean and well serviced, is small which is typical in Europe. I wouldn't recommend this for families just because of the room sizes. For us, this worked out nicely.

had difficulty finding hotel (small alley 2 blocks from Rialto bridge) Staff very friendly and helpful especially without lift and rooms as high as 4 floors by stairs. Rooms initially assigned were very noisy but Andre responded well and gave us much more acceptable rooms. Late April was warm during the day and missed AC and there were no fans. Price value was good - breakfasts were continental - location was outstanding - night clerk was friendly spoke only russian and we english so preparing for water taxi was an adventure. People made the visit and we appreciate all they did for us.

Location - although very central and convenient, it was on a tiny alleyway, not terribly inviting.. Having almost no public area was strange too, it was less hotel-like and more dorm-like. Breakfast was unremarkable, every day a croissant and a bread roll isn't very appealing and eating on the bed isn't too comfortable as no breakfast area. The pics I saw on the web looked very inviting - but I don't feel they really reflected the inn. Also, no bath... I feel the price was rather high for what we got in return. Still, we did have a fabulous time in Venice - a gorgeous place to visit... shame about the tourist infestation though ;)

We stayed in a double room in the Residenza Goldoni. Hotels in Venice can be extremely expensive but we found this a reasonably priced alternative - clean, comfortable, welcoming and the location would be hard to beat (right next to the Rialto bridge and 10-15 minute walk to the main tourist sites). This isn't a grand hotel by any means but unless money is no object, I'd certainly recommend it and stay there again in future.

We had a nice room on the 4th floor with a terrace that overlooked the neighboring rooftops. The rooms are not very large, but that is to be expected Italy. Location is great - about 2 minute walk from Rialto. Easy to find if you follow the directions from the hotel. Breakfast was nothing special. **Note: Hotel requests that you pay cash and only takes credit cards to guarantee the room.

I and my wife had stayed for two days in Residanza Goldoni from 17 th to 19 th March in 2008. Hotel was in the heart of Venice, a few steps away from San Marco Square. Our room and bath were bigger than our expectations, also very clean and quiet. It was surprising and pleasant that the breakfast served our room every morning on time. And finally, thanks very much to hotel's kind staff for the interest they showed us.

Our visit to Venice was wonderful. I would thoroughly recommend Residenza Gondoli. It is in a very central location although a little tricky to find! I had requested a room with a terrace when I booked the hotel and this request was not fulfilled but our room was very adequate and spotless. It was great to have breakfast delivered to the room every morning and on time. Try to avoid rooms on the first floor as they are next to the breakfast preparation areas and can be a little noisy. Overall I would stay here again and in terms of price compared to other Venetian hotels it was very good indeed. Venice a beautiful city but be prepared it is very expensive!!!

Hmmmm...always difficult to find hotels in venice but this one was particularly tough for me. there's a small sign saying goldoni inn, well it was just a maze for me. breakfast is cute because its brought up to bed at 10am (a way of waking you up and kicking you out of bed), and the staff knows pretty much everything about venice. good comfortable hotel. don't worry about noise.

The location is excellent being only a few steps away from rialto bridge. the hotel is in a narrow street and has many rooms on 3 different floors to offer. we had the one on top with the balcony. a gorgeous view even in winter. the view over the roof tops was one of the highlights. the breakfast that was served was good enough to start into the day. you can always eat pizza the rest of the day! not only the price was good, also it offered everything it promised: a clean room with enough space to store luggage and to relax between the trips through the city. a total recommendation!

Our party was three women visiting Venice for one night. The location of R. Goldoni is excellent, close in to San Marco's main attractions. We reserved a triple. Beds were a king (two singles pushed together) and a single. The room was up a ---lot--- of stairs, no elevator. The space was compact, clean pleasantly decorated and functional. There was some water damage by the window. The walls were covered in attractive fabric that was somehow held away from the walls beneath, a method I have not seen before in a hotel. Bathroom was small but clean sufficient. Night clerk was there to check us in on our 10pm arrival, and recommended places to find food at that late hour. She requested payment, we paid cash. I asked for a receipt but she declined to give me one. Day clerk was very cordial and helpful, allowed us to stow our bags during our day in Venice. I would stay there again, great price for the location.

El hotel esta muy bien situado muy cercano al Puente Rialto y a zona de tiendas. Sin embargo las habitaciones estan algo descuidadas y falta una limpieza profunda. First time at this hotel and in Venice. We stayed 2 nites (long enough - not sure what to do if we were there much longer). The hotel is great.. don't let the stairs scare you. Very easy to find and friendly desk employees. Do yourself a favor and don't spend alot of $$ for a hotel in Venice. This was a great option considering how expensive hotels are in the city. I would stay here again... but likely don't need to see Venice another time. Once is enough.

Overall, this hotel is a great value. My room was small but tastefully decorated and clean. My room was a bit noisy at times. This was because of the wood floors (which are nice) throughout and the fact that my room was just off the main stairway. Also, my room did not have a safe or minibar, as advertised. The staff was extremely friendly and helpful.

Lovely little hotel, very conveniently located. Directions getting there were very easy to follow, if going by car, you park at Piazzale Roma in the huge Communale parking on yr right - costs about 21 euro per day, water bus a short walk from there. Very small, hence breakfast served in room, but upside is 'breakfast in bed' - what more could you ask for when on holiday? There are stairs and no lift, but this was not an issue for us, our kids were 11 & 13 and we had the quad room and space was no problem. The en suite bathroom is big. Everything was beautifully provided, including a free water taxi to a glass factory on Murano island, from there we paid for the water bus to Burano where needle lace is made.

The hotel seemed small from street side, but, in Europe, everything is in tight quarters. A simple hallway leads you to the front desk, where the staff of the hotel were an absolute delight! They spoke English, and catered to our every need. They were very friendly, helpful, and I would book here again just because of their service. We took pictures of our room as it was very comfortable and pleasant. Bottom line, marvelous hotel on all counts - price, service, location, room. Would book here again in a heartbeat.

Even though we had contacted the hotel the previous night they had given our room to someone else. They did take to another location and then to a third location where we had a room on the 3rd floor (50 steps) to carry our luggage. They did offer a nice breakfast area on the 2nd floor..

My wife and I stayed here for three nights and everything was great except for the temperature. Our room and AC but it was on the third/fourth floor and it was so hot up there it didn't matter. It was on non-stop but could never really cool the room down. Other than that, it was a good location close to the Rialto bridge and a short walk to the main square. Overall it was a good hotel and would recommend it especially if you don't mind the heat or can get a room on the lower floors.

Visited Venice with my husband and 2 sons in June. Venice was very hot and humid, the air conditioning in the hotel was excellent, which made our stay in the city more pleasant. The staff were friendly and helpful with directions, even arranged a taxi ride to Murano for us at no charge. The rooms were pleasant, though a little on the smallish side, and the bathrooms were quite accomodating. The location was very convenient to shopping and all the sites to see in the city. I would be happy to stay here when I visit again, and recommend Residenza Goldoni to anyone seeking accomodations in Venice, particularly during the summer months.

The only down fall to this hotel is the night staff, she didn't speak very much English and was not very helpful with any request made. i will put it as a language barrier. Other wise the hotel was great, great location, my wife couldn't ask for a better location.

Generally we found this hotel to be fine. The room was clean and the location fantastic. The staff was helpful, but with a little bit of an attitude.

The hotel was very easy to find per the instructions given on the website and was in an excellent location. The staff could not have been more friendly and helpful which made a very favorable impression. The room was very cosy, quiet, and full of character; quite charming even though it was at the top of the stairs..great exercise! The continental breakfast could have offered fruit and cereal but was brought to our room right on time each morning. We thoroughly enjoyed our stay!

Nice and quiet hotel located close to all the perks of Venice. But like everything else in Venice, extremely difficult to find. Especially at midnight as was the case with me! But Ferruccio runs a very nice hotel with very cleans room, very quiet atmosphere, and a reasonable price. Downside are the stairs. No elevators as is common in all italian hotels but the stairs at this hotel are extremely steep. Would recommend to anyone though!

the hotel was excellent value for money, the staff were extremely friendly and helpful. The standard of the room was very good although we were on the same floor as the kitchen and there was some noise in the morning. We found it difficult to locate the hotel and with hindsight should have obtained further details before we arrived. The location was excellent and very central to the rialto and st marks. I would highlt recommend this hotel and would definitely stay there again

My wife and 2 grown children and I were guests at the Residenza Goldoni in March. Our stay couldnt have been more pleasant. The room was Great! It was clean and well decorated with fabric wallcoverings on the walls. The staff was one of the friendliest and most helpful of all the places we stayed in Italy. Taking into consideration the location, the price, the staff, and the room itself, I dont think you could find a better place to stay in all of Venice. I would HIGHLY recommend this property and look forward to staying here again!!!

The service here was amazing. Everyone was so helpful. The rooms were nice, and the bathrooms were very large. The location was great, right near everything. You get breakfast in your room, which I liked. The hotel staff will help you with any questions you have about the city and things to do. I would stay there again and recomend it.

Great Value, excellent quality period decoration, easy to find and in a great location. The map/directions could have been clearer. Room air conditioning units were effective, but meant that room air was quite dry - keep a bottle of water (very cheap, from Co-Op store near Vaporetti Stop: Ferrovia). We'd have no reservation in recommending this as a place to stay.

This hotel was very easy to find, excellent location, very close to Rialto and taxi stop, 5 minute walk to San Marco. Room was very nice and clean. Pretty good/average breakfast, rolls, jam, cheese, coffee. I would stay here again. Staff was friendly and helpful. No elevator, had to walk up 5 flights. Part of the charm though.

A great place to stay and really central, a couple of minute's walk to the Rialto Bridge. Even though it's right in the centre of everything it's still really quiet. We had a room on the top floor with a great terrace - room 141. Really good shower too. They brought breakfast in bed at the time you asked, you could order what you wanted the night before. Great people, all really friendly and you can leave your bags there all day when you check out. Would definitely reccommend - it's not particularly cheap but I think is good value for money compared to some of the prices in Venice.

Our stay was 'nice', however, we did not consider it particular good value for money. Breakfast was served in your room as there is no restaurant and although it was nice to breakfast on our own, it wasn't that great. We were asked on our first night what time we would like breakfast the following morning. As we were there for a friend's wedding, we needed to eat early. However, breakfast was then served at the same time every morning and that was not altogether welcomed the morning after the wedding, having not returned 'til the early hours of the morning! Also, breakfast was not particulary varied and if you don't like bread products then you won't eat. Plus, when they say there is somewhere for your luggage if you have a late flight home after check-out, they actually mean you can store it on a landing, where anyone could tamper with it/remove it! The staff were lovely, but I'm afraid the hotel was not good value for money in our opinion and we would definately not return.

We really enjoyed this hotel. It was very clean and the staff were lovely. Two things to comment on: the breakfast is small, and delivered to your room (small croissant, small roll, jams, butter and coffee or tea). And the hotel is much closer to the Rialto bridge than we expected. The total distance we had to walk from the water bus stop was no more than 200m. The hotel sign is only small, so you have to look for it carefully.

Property had very central position, quite close to Rialto, only it took some time to find the right building. Our room was small but very clean and nice. If I`ll travel to Venice again, I`ll be happy to stay there again.

The lovely little inn was easy to find and very close to all the main attractions. The breakfast in bed was great and very romantic. The room comfy and homely. All in all we had a fantastic time in Venice. Definately recommend this Hotel. Thanks

overall excellent spot and fair prices except they only take CASH or TRAVELLERS CHEQUES. Rooms clean and good, staff reasonably friendly, cleaners most friendly! One negative is we booked double room 5 nights but only got single room with rollaway bed first night, and only took 20 euros off price!
