Inn Palazzo Schiavoni - Venice

Excellent position of the hotel. 5 minutes to Saint Marc Place. Excellent relationship with the staff. A very nice hotel, just in front of a little chanel. I recommand this hotel. Wonderfull souvenir!!!

The hotel was very nice and exactly as described in the many reviews I have seen on multiple sites. It's very clean, spacious and well maintained. Nicolas the man on duty was very nice and always very helpful. Location is great, less than a 10 minutes walk from the water bus and San Marco. I recommend this hotel.

Well located, excellent welcoming, perfect hotel.

The hotel has a good location that is east of San Marco Plaza which is in a quiet part of Venice. However, with just 5 minutes walk you're back in the middle of everything. My room was on the ground floor beside lobby entry so there was some transit noise from those entering and leaving, however, not intolerably so. The room was shaped as a long rectangle (1:3 width to length ratio). It was clean though at night we noticed tiny insects crawling on the floor which looked like something between a silver fish and termites. The shower was cramped (1 x 1 meter dimension), however, the urinal can be removed and things rearranged to allow for a larger shower or installation of a tub/shower combination if renovations are done. The TV was situated on a stand perpendicular to the bed, but this too could easily be remedied with a flat panel mounted on the wall at the foot of the bed and the entry space from the door could be converted into a nice sitting area as there is ample room to do so. I found the bed to be comfortable but the pillows were like leather...very tough and unyielding. The included breakfast wasn't much to write home about and if you stay for more than 2 days you'll tire of it, but it's something to put in your stomach before heading out. The management was courteous and responsive. Nicolas, the owner/manager, reminded me of John Cleese's character Basil in the British TV comedy "Faulty Tower" in terms of his stature and mannerisms but, unlike the show, he's a most competent owner. On the whole I think this is a place better suited to young couples who are in transition from the single, hostelling, budget restricted days to the next step up. It's not for honeymooners or mature couples who may want to indulge a bit more. Families may need a bit more to keep the kiddies busy. Not sure how this place is categorized...as a hotel I'd give it 3 stars overall. As a bed & breakfast, I'd give it 4 stars.

Nous avons passé un merveilleux séjour à l'hotel Palazzo degli schiavoni.Etant donné les prix élevés à Venise, je pense que nous avons payé un prix très raisonnable : 110 euros par jours petit déjeuner compris (Ils'agissait d'une promotion). La chambre était très propre ,décorée avec gout, sans fioritures et très confortable.Elle donnait sur d'autres maisons visiblement habitées par des vénitiens. Cela est agréable car nous n'avions pas l'impression de vivre dans une ville seulement touristique et délaissée par ses habitants, comme on a parfois coutume de l'entendre dire! le petit déjeuner est servi dans une toute petite et jolie salle à coté de la reception. Il est classique: Rien d'exeptionnel n'y est proposé mais il reste tout a fait convenable. Je voudrais insister tout particulierement sur la qualité de l'acceuil et du service.Je n'ai jamais été aussi bien accueilli dans un hotel.Le personnel est très attentifs , toujours prèts a parler de venise et a donner de petits conseils... Cela doit venir du fait qe cet hotel est une petite structure...(il ne doit pas y avoir plus de 20 chambres) Je recommande donc chaudement cet hotel qui m'a vraiment apporté satisfaction. je pense y retourner à l'occasion!

The Hotel Palazzo Schiavone is not in a palazzo but is a modernised small hotel in an old building adjacent to the lovely Palazzo Schiavone. We stayed in the garret/attic room which had beautiful views over the surrounding roofscape and this is the main attraction of that room. The room was clean and modernised to a high standard (good bathroom fittings) although it has to be said that the room was small and some ingenuity had gone into making the different areas fit together. The staff were great and the breakfast in the delightful dining room was good. The Arsenale district is one of the quieter areas, worth exploring, but is only a few minutes walk from the hustle of St Mark's Square. Despite the smallness of the room, the general excellence of the views, the location and the staff mean that we would have no hesitation in staying there again.
