Palazzo Cendon Il Piano Nobile, located in the heart of Venice, is both a palace rich in history and a peaceful retreat in a perfect Venetian style. Overlooking the Canal di Cannaregio - one of the ancient arteries of Venetian trade - it combines the elegance of a 15th Century palace with the modern services of a high level residence.

The particular care for details and the utmost attention to guest needs makes every stay at Palazzo Cendon a charming and relaxing break. The property overlooks the Canal di Cannaregio, the second largest canal in Venice after the Gran Canal, a short walk from the train station and the ancient Ghetto. Cà D'Oro and Rialto Bridge are only a 15-minute walk away.

The location is one of the most authentic areas of Venice, where walking around the Calli and Fondamenta you can easily lose the notion of time. In the Venetian architectural tradition, the first floor of the Palazzo Il Piano Nobile was devoted to the reception and hosting of noble guests, and to feast and dance to the sound of quartets of musicians.

We were full of expectations, due to some of the descriptions of some other guests, but, alas, the disappointment couldn`t have been more complete. To start with: It is impossible to sleep, because the enormous noise of two bars opposite and next door create an "uproar" until at least 2 or 3 o`clock in the morning and that for the whole stay of 7 days. The breakfast-room is so small that more than 2 People at a time are not able to serve themselves. Good advice not to go down 3 seconds before 8.00 h, when the breakfast started officially... In one of our rooms there was no Service at all on one day, the consecutive days the towels were no longer changed until there was no one left, let alone the sheets. The 2 chaimbermaids who also served alternitivly at the "breakfast-room" were unfriendly and seemed not very "happy" with their job. Other than most of the ladies at the reception-counter: always polite and helpful. The area is spezifically venician, simply wonderful, away from mass-tourism. The vaporetto-stop quasi next door a spezial gain.

the name "il piano nobile" gives the impression, the rooms would be in the first floor, possibly with a view somewhere. Our room was outside of the hotel, beside the entry with a door directly in the lane. In the first night we heard allways the sound of running water, in the second night the climatisation did not work well.

Charming and quaint. However the majority of staff could take lessons in interacting with guests. Dining room dark and not terribly spacious and not all food was available.

This was our first stay at Palazzo Cedron Il Piano Nobile. For us, this is an excellent hotel in the perfect location, close to the railway station and Piazzale Roma. It is away from the crowdwd areas of Venice yet an easy walk or vaporetto ride to all parts.

We were very impressed with the staff of this hotel. They went out of their way to work with us on everything. It was flooding in Venice and they lent my husband a pair of boots (wellies). We had to leave early on our last day and they arranged to leave us breakfast so we had something to eat before we left. We had a great room with a terrace that overlooked the canal. An easy walk to wonderful shopping, lots of restaurants and bars, and 60 meters from the vaporetto stop. I would stay here again!

We had a terrible time finding this place because we walked, rather than taking the waterbus from where the airport bus dropped us off. No one near the train station had ever heard of Cendon...very frustrating until we met a woman at a restaurant who directed us to Palazzo Cendon-this is one very off the beaten path hotel, but once you find it, it's a very nice property! It may have been our fault for not taking the waterbus.

Rooms were very small but adequate for a European city. There is also a real problem with the mosquitos given proximity to the canal. It is not advisable to sleep with your windows open. The location is far from St. Mark's, but very convenient for the train station and exploring the Cannaregio District, which has very nice food options.

We loved that the location was away from the "tourist" areas but that it was close enough to walk to everything and very convenient to water transporation and train. It was clean, friendly, quiet. Our only issue is that as early risers who take early morning runs, we didn't realize that we would be locked out until someone was available to open doors which was after 7 as we went in with some staff (normally not open until 8). However, it gave a great excuse to really feel Venice with the early morning deliveries and espresso with the locals on their way to work. We WILL go back!

We stayed in Venice for 2 nights and we were on a 5 week holiday through Europe. The hotel was in a fantasic location and we had a beautiful view over the canals from our room. The staff were helpful and friendly and the rooms were very clean and tidy. The breakfast room was a little bit small but thats really not an issue while on holiday and having fun. Lovely hotel and would reccomend to anyone.

A well-kept hotel, in a terrific location near the train station and within easy walk to St. Mark's, with several good restaurants nearby. The staff was helpful and friendly. The sound insulation between rooms could be better. There is no wi-fi in the rooms, but it is available in the living room downstairs.

The location is great. It is a short walk to the train station and near the vaporatto stops. The only noise comes from the ringing of the church bells. The continental breakfast was not as wide a selection as some of the other hotel in this category, but it was adequate. This is a small hotel. The entrance is off Calle Cendon and you have to watch for that street name as you walk down Fondamenta Venier, but it is not hard to find.

We stayed in Venice for seven days. This was our first visit and we were overwhelmed by its beauty, history and attractions. The location of this hotel was excellent for Vasperetto to all parts of the city and Morano, and Alilaguna waterbus service to the airport. Also Rialto is not too far on foot. Several good canal-side restaurants and bars nearby. A very attractive location. This hotel is excellent value for money, generous breakfast buffet, good coffee and very polite and helpful staff.

Friendly receptionists and very helpful breakfast attendant. Limited, but good breakfast in cozy room. Good-sized standard room and inviting ensuite. Nice area, with shopping and restaturants close in one direction, and more quiet areas in the other direction. Waterbus stops very close to hotel. Our room faced the alleyway, so no canal view for us, and we heard the music from bar on the corner from early morning to late night, so we chose to go for aircon + closed windows to sleep soundly. We followed the hotel's (and Venere's) instructions on how to get to the hotel by aerobus + waterbus, and this worked fine, but we walked to the bus station when leaving since the waterbus is very crowded, and waiting time can be a while.

We arrived in Venice, at the bus station, very late in the evening but found the hotel easily. We had only the large modern bridge at the bus station to cross with our suitcases. The gentleman on reception was very welcoming and spoke excellent English. We had room 1 on the third floor which was at the front of the hotel facing the canal. It appeared to be a room for 4 people so was more than adequate for myself , my sister and my 16 year old son. The room felt large enough for all us, the beds were comfortable and the room had more than enough storage space. The bathroom was very clean with complimentary soap etc. but I did miss not having a kettle in the room. Continental style breakfast was was available in a seperate room on the 3rd floor and consisted of yoghurt, a small selection of cereals/museli,fruit, croissants, bread rolls with jams or honey, with coffee, and selection of teas to drink. Unfortunately the clientele of the bar across the alley at the side of the hotel were rather noisy one night until 2.40 a.m. This kept my sister, who is a light sleeper, awake. Whilst this is not the fault of the hotel it is something to be aware of. There is a vaporetto bus stop a short distance from the hotel.

We stayed 3 days and 2 nights here and enjoyed our time in Venice. It is about a 10 minute walk from the train station (be sure to bring a detailed map as you will get lost in Venice). The staff was kind and welcoming upon our arrival and brought us up to our rooms. It would have been more helpful if they would have given us a detailed map to get around the city or even recommended some restaurants to eat at, but we felt like we were left to fend for ourselves. The room was a "double" (really two twins pushed together) and the room was small, but I'm 6' 5 and I can't complain too much for just using the room to sleep in, as I slept fine. Breakfast was made fresh everyday and eaten in the common room area. Breakfast was very good. The air conditioner was modern and kept the room cool which was important because it was extremely hot outside. The room was cleaned everyday as was the bathroom - no complaints for cleanliness. Overall we had a good experience here, a bit high in cost for the quality, but the lccation was great.

One is led to believe the hotel is on the canal - well, the front door is down a side street and my view was of the wash hanging out next door. The old front (closed) faces the canal. But since we were out most of the time, that was fine. The bar next door goes on to late hours and we could hear it. The room was clean and welcome at the end of the day!

We stayed in one of the cheapest rooms located on the top (3rd floor) of the property, but it was roomy, really well fitted out, spotlessly clean. What a wonderful hotel. It was our Venice-honeymoon-dream come true: An old palazzo on a lovely canal, an enormously spacios, wonderfully decorated room with a view on the canal. Kind and very helpful personnel, very clean, a good breakfast for Italian standards (don't expect a full continental breakfast in Italy otherwise you will always be disappointed). We would absolutely recommend the superior rooms - ask for those with a view, they are worth the supplement. We stayed in the superior room in "Le mansarde" - it was absolutely lovely. The hotel overall is quiet, no bar, no restaurant, no big hotel lobby, but everything is carefully and beautifully furnished. We will always remember our wonderful honeymoon in Venice, also thanks to Palazzo Cendon.
