Hotel Locanda al Leon Bianco is located near the Ca' da Mosto - an important mansion from the 13th century, facing the Canal Grande, between Ca' d'Oro and the Rialto Bridge. Between the 16th century and the 18th century,it used to be the main building of the Albergo del Leon Bianco (White Lion Hotel) - the most famous hotel in Venice, with guests like Emperor Joseph II. Since then the locanda has been completely renovated and guests staying here can be sure to find the same Venetian hospitality, with higher comfort. The direction is this; if you arrive from Treviso airport or Venice airport, take the roadbus ATVO and get off at last stop, Venice P. Roma, when in Venice (P. Beautiful B&B with the best staff ever. Very close to everything without being in the most croweded area. The rooms are old but that is because the building is from early 1800-sentury and it's so sutteble and romantic. Me and my boyfriend will return as soon as we can and we will return to Locanda Leon Bianco.

The hotel is not easy to find. The reception is not the warmest, considering the price we paid (220 + 4 €/night). Furniture is poor and tiny, kind of "Venetian style Ikea". Breakfast is really poor. Large and comfortable bathroom, fresh towels everyday. The value for money is really bad and customers should choose the tiny back rooms on the side canal.

We stayed two nights and got exactly what we wanted: A big old-fashioned venezian room with a perfect view over the Grand Canal. Friendly & helpful staff. Familiar atmosphere. Be aware of the italian breakfast (served in the room!): Germans wood expect some more extras. Remarkable place for nostalgic Venice-Fans! Looking forward to the next visit!

We stayed at the Locanda Leon Bianco for 3 days[2 couples in our 50's]. The first inpression was shock as we walked down the narrow alley into a small courtyard with only 2 doors, thankfully we had found the hotel easily from the owners directions and google earth..otherwise you would have a very very difficult time to fine it! We know because we helped another couple that were walking away from the narrow laneway thinking there is no way this can be the place! After ringing the bell..we walked through and up this dark stone dungeon like stairwell to enter into the lobby with pretty Murano Glass Chandaliers. But as we entered our huge jr suite room only to look out at the small ugly courtyard we had entered the hotel though and a wall of construction on the left and boarded up windows from the adjacent building on the left...our hearts sank. The other couple looked out their window to the small not pretty canal view and closed and locked their window!Mind you the location of the hotel is very central once you accept your situation. And the Canal View rooms in the hotel are Beautiful..so if you are going to stay at this hotel and want ambiance...DEFINETLY BOOK THE CANAL VIEW! And if you do not care for ambience or atmosphere and want a PLACE IN VENICE AT A GOOD RATE...THEN BOOK THE OTHER ROOM CATAGORIES.I must say we had no problem with the owner...any complaint was dealt with immediatly and he was most kind and accomadating.

Large room in central location near Rialto bridge, although access was through dark back alley and hard to find. Quadruple room unfortunately had no canal view. Basic breakfast. Photos on website much better then actual room.

As a couple and our first time in Venice this place was magical - right on the canal with amazingly well sized rooms this really made our time in Venice just that much better. Explicit instructions for navigating to the hotel were emailed personally prior to arrival date which were a godsend with Venice being the maze that it is, the room as a miniature palace and a pleasure to return to each day. Sitting in our window sill watching the gondoliers pass underneath really set the mood and we had no real complaints. Sometimes staff weren't around but they informed us of this fact upon arrival and when they were English wasn't easily used to communicate but we can't wait to return for all future visits to this charming home away from home in Venezia

The hotel has a very capable staff - however no one is on-staff overnight at the hotel. The breakfast served in the room was very convenient and as expected. We found the location as ideal and easy to get to. The hotel is actually on the third floor so be prepared to carry luggage up! (By the way, the light was out in the staircase and treacherous at night - since the staff isn't there at night they may not know this.) The rooms were large and we had a view of the canal. The floor of our room was very gritty and dirty, but everything else was clean. Overall though, our stay was fine

The rooms are very spacious as described. The breakfast is delivered each morning at the choice of time given by you. The location was excellent for dining, walking, entertainment. Hard to find if arriving by the vaporetto. It is off the side street, behind an iron gate. We asked so many people how to find it, and nobody really knew, but we stumbled across it. The attendees of the hotel are not there but a few hours in the morning. So if you need anything, your out of luck!! Better ask for it in the morning or you will not get it. Bring adaptor if needed, they do not have any. If you stay on the canal side as we did, room 5, it can be very noisey with all the boats traveling up and down all the time. Shut the windows!!! Overall, for the money it was a good deal, and very clean! Be very careful with the steps as my friend and I both slipped and fell coming down. Have a great stay!!!
