The hotel was ok, nice surroundings. But this charges are awful: € 15,00 if you are arriving from 20:00 to 22:00. € 20,00 if you are arriving from 22:00 to 23:30. € 25,00 UNTILL MAX 24.00. NOT ALLOWED LATER THEN 24.00. I discovered them on arrival. Of course it was sent with the confirmation email, but who reads that? And I had already paid the room on venere anyways, couldn't change anything about it. And it also cost me international phone call to have the reception guy to open the door (also happened once during the afternoon). Moreover, the room is full of charges you have to pay if you want some service. So the hotel is nice. But be sure to arrive before the time.

Hotel Locanda Herion is a very neat and clean hotel. This is a run by family; they are very helpful and guide you about what to see in Venice and how to see. I booked the Superior room. Superior room was good in size and nicely decorated and was attached with a very clean toilet. This hotel is near to train station, only 10 mins walk. It is also very near to San Marcoula stop. You can find this hotel by directions given. We struggled a bit as there is not big sign broard for this hotel. Then a local lady helped us in finding this hotel. There is also a super market near this hotel. Also there are lot of restaurants in the neighborhood. The breakfast in this hotel was very basic. But I believe same breakfast is served in Italy in similar hotels as we got the same things in Rome as well. On the day we reached, the lock of the room was not working, so they kept our laguage in another room and got this corrected. I booked this hotel because it was near to Train station and I was having a train early morning. I paid my room rent in the night, and person told me to just left the key on the table and leave as no one will be there and person will come around 7.30. I did the same, but next day I came to know that the other person after coming, she did not check her records and again debited my credit card for the room rent. On my calling, they checked and accepted the mistake and assured they will credit money in my account. But after lot of calls and daily follow up, they finally deposited the money. I am not sure if they have any process for these things, as it was a very silly mistake.

Hotel is overrated. It is far from three stars.Services are rendered at a minimum. Heating was only available for a few hours, although outside temperature was in the twenties. We were lucky to arrive two hours ahead, at noon, as later no one was in the reception and nobody answered the emergency phones left.

Difficult to find.No name board. The worst is to get there with luggage. We are an older couple; so to have to carry suitcases to the vaporetto stops is not very pleasant, especially the one where you take the vaporetto to the airport Marco Polo, because of the bridge stairs to get at this connection.

Locanda Herion is in the perfect location if travelling into Venice by train, 10 mins walk from station with one bridge to cross with easy stairs. Hotel itself has quite steep staircase so travel light. The room was spacious and clean however there was a substantial amount of mildew in the bathroom which could become hazardous if staying long. Would recommend that they improve breakfast service - at least get decent coffee, the coffee machine did not work well and the quality of the coffee was really poor. Enrico was very friendly and most welcoming. Would recommend it!

convenient to the train station - a leisure 10 minute walk. a bit hard to find, but due to fact the city will not allow a larger sign. Nice walk to St. Mark's Square (15 minutes), or convenient to the water taxi. Had to leave early in the morning and the staff set us up with a light continental breakfast.

This hotel is too expensive for what it offers. The rooms and bathroom were not very clean. We had ants in our room and they got into our suitcases. The air conditioning did not work properly so we had some very hot august nights. The window in the bathroom was broken and could not be opened. We asked the front desk person to send someone to fix it but never happened. The breakfast was mediocre, nothing special. The building was in need of some TLC and paint. The worst thing was the pillows: they smelled REALLY bad. I do not recommend this hotel to anyone. On top of that, the price is high compared to other 3 star hotels Staff is ok, but nothing to right home about.

Hotel was nice, hidden in a very hard to find nook. The only way we were able to find it (after passing by it about 5 times) was by a tiny sign that was probably about 12"x6" on the street that the hotel is on. So that is something to be weary of. Other than that, the interior is decent, nothing to write home about but not dreadful. The room was also nice, some paint peeling in the corner but other than that not a bad room. The restroom was surprisingly nice, nicer than everything else in the hotel I'd say. For the price, I'd probably look for cheaper places but wouldn't completely hate having to pay for the place again.

The receptionist was friendly and helpful, location excellent, 15-minute walk from Piazzale Roma. In a quiet alley off the main street in Cannaregio. Given accommodation prices in Venice, price-quality ratio was very good. Basic room but clean and air conditioned. Bathroom very spacious and luminous (missed a curtain for the shower). Basic breakfast in a nice outdoor patio.

The room was lovely, however the hotel has a problem with mold in the bathroom. When we mentioned it to them, the next day they tried to clean it, as they said they do every week. Our toilet seat was slightly broken when we arrived, as well as a window in the bathroom, and both were fixed the next morning. in addition, there is no elevator, and we received no help with our luggage. If you don't mind the sight of a little mold in the bathroom, and if you can easily carry your luggage, I would highly recommend this hotel.

We found the Herion excellent for our short stay, it was easy to find from P. Roma where the airport bus arrives and I would be very happy to return to this Locanda. Our only critcism would be there is a lack of shelf or other surfaces for your stuff in the bathroom. The breakfast and coffee were good for the price paid.

The first room we were given was only partially clean - there was a used bar of soap sitting on the counter and missing towels, fortunately for us the air conditioning was not working either so we were given another room that was much better in quality although the shower chair was pulled partially away from the shower wall and tiles were broken, exposing the wall to the water. Breakfast was good, many choices of good quality but there was a marked difference in the dining room staff toward the crowds of the weekend (very grouchy, unhelpful - dirty silverware, no plates) and the quieter small group of the week day (table settings present, offers to make coffees, etc.) Front desk staff at times were also very short and surly with people when they needed help. Location was great in terms of access to bus and quiet neighborhood - not many restaurants in close proximity though.

Fine room and hotel for the money. One caveat - this hotel does not have a hotel sign and is hard to locate, even with the map. Look for a small Locanda Herion sign on a building about 4 blocks past the Canal Canaregio - turn right down the little street, and the hotel entrance-1697/A-is in a small alcove on your left.

The Locanda Herion was a great experience - we were there for 3 days before a cruise and found it to be excellent - it is close to the train station and Piazzole Roma (which makes it a bit of a ways from Piazza San Marco - and all the crowds). The location was close to a lively merchant street with fresh vegetable and fruit stands as well as typical Venice souvenirs and restaurants, yet it was very quiet. The entrance to the Locanda was a bit disappointing, very plain but othervice nice and clean interior. We had a very big room (maybe because it was called double superior). Breakfast rather Italian style - fresh sweet croisants, but also some packed dark bread and cream cheese was available. The only drawback was a coffee machine with coffee quality which did not match my desire for real Italian coffee. Fiendly and polite service.

One thing that was rather off putting was that the walls in the bedroom had mosquito's splattered on them. I did also suffer two bites whilst there. The hotel is in a great location not far from the train station and just behind a busy area, so it was quiet. Watch for the small sign on the side of a building that points to the hotel. The room was very large - much larger than we expected. The only problem we saw was a lot of mold/mildew in the shower and on the wall above. Otherwise, the room was very clean and nicely decorated. The check-in gentleman went above and beyond in helpfulness. This was a welcoming, well-priced, clean hotel and well-situated hotel. Our room was big and well-heated. Breakfast was typical Italian style ie lots of unhealthy chocolately stuff, but we were pleased that there was also a museli and fruit puree (packaged) option. We would return to this hotel.

If you want only to sleep then this hotel is the right place and located not far awag from rail way station. The hotel is given as 3 Stars, but the room is very small, no minibar in the room (no refrigerator), one chair for two people, the TV is 14" and about 20 years old. The breakfast is very simple (croissant and coffee from machine). However, the price is low.

1) the map with indications to find the hotel was wrong. inquiry at the hotel desk showed the problem had already been solved. 2) we would liked fresh bread at the breakfast buffet: everything else was absolutely ok.

Very very expensive for young couple like us. But considering its location was in main island of Venice, we regarded the expenditures worthwhile. The best hotel we stayed during our 22 days trip in Europe. Next time I shall not squeeze with other travellers in September and get a good bargain to stay in this hotel again.

The room we selected had a downstairs bathroom so every time we used bathroom we had to walk down a flight of stairs. Not good for ages 80 and 82,but we were given a choice between 2nd floor with bathroom on same floor, and we selected this one. Otherwise no complaints and staff very friendly and helpful. Neighborhood interesting.

Everything was perfect, the staff go out of their way to make you feel comfortable. Will definitely recommend this hotel for all. Perfect location ,quite , deserves more than a 3 star rating , Excellent. We enjoyed 2 lovely days in Venice The only hick up was that we had trouble finding the hotel as google maps gives an entirely different location. This feedback was given to the hotel & we weren't the 1st to encounter this problem. It's worth clarifying how to get there before you leave. The map was corrected.

Entirely satisfied with Hotel Locanda Herion. Friendly and efficiently family-run, quietly positioned in good area, near shops, restaurants and vaporetto stations San Marcuola and Guglie, not far from Piazza de Roma. Excellent value.

The hotel is very well situated. Our room was very quiet, in the back of the hotel, and very clean. The employees are competent and charmant. The breakfast is quite complete and sufficient for this kinf of hotel.

The Herion is a small friendly hotel/guest house. It is quiet and well located, close to shops, restaurants and bars. The public areas are small and the hotel does not have a bar or serve evening meals, which was not a problem for us. It is convenient for arrival by water, bus or train and the main tourist areas are easily reached on foot or by a short water bus ride. It is ideal for a quiet short break in Venice.

The Lacanda Herion was an easy walk from the train station, and was found without difficulty. We were pleased to find the room spacious, clean, and with a comfortable bed, making it more than adequate for our one night stay. Considering that this was Venice in October, the hotel's rate was extremely reasonable. Also, the hotel staff were extremely friendly and helpful.

Venice was cold and there was no hot water or room heat. No maintenance during week ends. Hotel was very close to water bus stand. Fron Desk was excellent. Superb cordiality.

We stayed in single room with queen bed and private bath. Was a little noisy for afternoon napping. Was much further from cruise dock than we anticipated. Small front lobby but staff very friendly and helpful. We were permitted to leave luggage at front desk while we toured. Breakfast adequate. Was too cool to eat in courtyard. We stayed here at the culmination of our cruise. It was very adequate but expensive due to devalued US dollar. We walked to St. Mark's Square--5 and 1/5 miles in one day. We would recommend this place to others.

Excellent. We enjoyed 3 lovely days in Venice and were very pleased & relieved that the hotel met our expectations. This was my 4th visit to Venice but 1st time at Herion & our room was by far the biggest & cleanest I have encountered. The staff were very freiendly & helpful. The only hick up was that we had trouble finding the hotel as google maps gives an entirely different location. This feedback was given to the hotel & we weren't the 1st to encounter this problem. It's worth clarifying how to get there before you leave.

For Venice, quite a good deal. Convenient to the train station and bus terminal. Room a bit dark with only one small window, but for the price I can't complain. Did get a shock from a faulty fixture, but presumably that was a one time fluke.

Excellent value for the price. Clean, spacious rooms with spacious bathrooms, nice furniture, competent and friendly personnel. Neat breakfast served in the little cosy inner yard. Location is not too far from anywhere, and, at the same time, far enough from most crowded tourist places to be quiet.

not told that the air-con was down, we were up the whole night with the fan on. There were several dead flies and mosquitoes lying in the bathtub. The good thing is we got changed to another room with COOL AC. Otherwise I would say OK.

I stayed 4 nights with my partner and it was exactly as I had expected. I paid 80 € per night and I sincerely think that the services provided by the hotel are really over of this price. I would like to point the great kindness and hospitality of the hotel staff. They are all young relatives of the owners of the hotel.

This is a fantastic small hotel. Well situated near the railway station, and within walking distance with suitcases. You have to be alert to spot the sign on the wall at the laneway that takes you to Locanda Herion which is just off the main thoroughfare. Its a good walk to Rialto and St Marks Square but pleasant and relatively easy to find. We were very well looked after and our room was clean, comfortable and spacious (premium)and the ensuite bathroom more than adequate. The service was good and the staff very helpful and welcoming. I would highly recommend it.
