Our stay in this hotel was a really pleasant moment. The room was really nice, and cosy. Nevertheless some details undermined this overall nice stay: (1) we booked a double room. And we had twin beds. It is often the case in many hotels and it is quite boring (2) the room where we had breakfast is, as quoted previously, quite small, and the breakfast is good but far from amazing (3) walls between rooms are pretty thin and you hear quite well when your neighbours come back pretty late in the evening and don't try to keep their voice down.

Owners/manager/staff were some of the friendliest and most helpful people we met on this 2 week trip. The property is right in Venice but away from the crowds. Just 2 blocks from the Guggenheim Museum, and in short walking distance from St. Marks Center, Academia, and Vaporetto. So you can essily see everything, and ride the Vaporetto just for fun or to other islands further away. All our rooms on this trip were very small, but very acceptable. Bed was 2 doubles put together, bath was new and very clean. Breakfast was ample with apples, cereal, coffee, tea, meats, cheeses, pastries, croissants. We really enjoyed Ca' Zose. It was worth the money if you don't want to spend double to triple per night in something larger with more amenities. Good restaurants are within 2 to 4 blocks.

This hotel was a real find in Venice. The location was away from the over crowded San Marco area but still only a few minutes walk to the Piazza. Located a few steps from the Grand Canal and on it's own small canal. Very eclectic and romantic. Room was great for Venice. Air Conditioner worked well during the hot days we were there. We loved it.

With this hotel being in the Dorsoduro area, you get away a bit from the more crowded areas in San Marco, a good thing in our book. The traghetto to cross the Grand Canal is just down the corner, so it's very easy to get to San Marco. The Peggy Guggenheim museum is about an 10 minute walk, the Santa Maria Della Salute church a 5 minute walk. This hotel is just in a great location. Rooms are small by American standards, but probably typical for European standards. They're decently clean, breakfast has breads, meats, fresh fruit, and good cappuccino. You get wireless Internet access only in the small lobby however. It would be nice to have this in the rooms as well. Still, a good, decent place to stay in a less crowded area in Venice.

When we arrived we were told that our original room was not available and we were offered an upgrade to a larger, canal view room with no additional charge. The room was very attractively decorated and maintained. And it was great to have a view. The public area for breakfast was small, but adequate. Very nice selection of items for breakfast. The hotel is located in a quiet neighborhood with just a short walk to a boat stop. Only issue was that we do not travel with a laptop so we wanted to use a hotel computer. It was not available at all times, but once we learned the schedule it was not a problem.

Excellent location for reasonable price. The room was beautiful, the bed comfortable enough, although we'd have preferred bigger pillows. The TV and wifi didn't work in the room - but who needs TV in Venice? I'd suggest skipping breakfast and going to a local bar for a real cappucino.

Keeping in mind that space is at a premium in Venice. The room was a little small but the charactor of the property made up for it. The location was great just of the main route to be quiet and while still giving you easy access. Our stay was very memerable.

The Ca Zose was exactly what we expected. During a 3 week/6 country trip it was the most expensive, but for Venice, to be expected. Even though it's not on the Canal Grande, it's conveniently situated. Take note that when you disembark at Salute, you have to take the very first bridge (wooden) to your right, otherwise you will end up, like us, searching for the hotel. The lack of a lift was an inconvenience, but not a disaster. The breakfast was on par and the room was spacious. The only gripe was the very small shower.

I was traveling alone, so was a little apprehensive. However, from the beginning, every aspect of my stay at Ca'Zose was perfect. It was friendly, exceptionally clean, comfortable, quiet, charming, beautifully decorated and has delicious breakfasts. The sisters went out of their way to make the stay wonderful and the staff were excellent. It is also in a very convenient location.

Run by two sisters, this excellent hotel was both welcoming and friendly with very helpful staff. It is only a few minutes walk from the Salute vaparetto stop and proved an ideal location for exploring Venice. Our room was large, pleasant, and with a well fitted bathroom offering both shower and bath facilities. It was exceptionally clean, and being located in Dorsodura, was very quiet at night. Breakfast was traditional Italian and more than adequate. We can thoroughly recommend this delightful hotel.

First time here and the room was good - spacious and with good bathroom. Owners very willing to please and responsive to requests. Position of hotel excellent, between the Salute and the Guggenheim/Accademia. Good hostelries in the vicinity. Breakfast disappointing - cramped eating area and very functional and no social area to sit and chill. good base for a short visit if ammenities are not an issue. Adult oriented. Value for money but felt more like a motel than a hotel.

Warm and welcoming staff, including the owners (sisters) who upgraded us immediately upon our arrival to a canal-view room without our even asking (stay in Libra room if you can). Stairs are a killer, but they are everywhere in Venice unless you can get an elevator hotel. Worth the climb to stay in this charming 17th C. building and lovely neighborhood. Good restaurants were hard to find, and not cheap, except for the hotel around the corner that had a great menu at reasonable prices. Easy access to Vaporetto, for water taxis, etc. and plenty of good shopping and galleries nearby. Price was steep for off season, but hard to find anything cheaper and nearly as clean and spacious. Breakfast lovely and fresh but fair warning - the walls between rooms are thin! We had a noisy dog in the room next door that kept us up one night. Owners let us have complimentary mini bar, which was much cheaper for them than comping us a night, but the sleep was still lost. If you can afford it, it's worth the stay, but move around if you can as each neighborhood offers something different.

An excellent hotel in a great location. Make sure that you understand exactly where it is - get the owner to send you a detailed map of the area. My tip - get off the vaporetta at the Salute stop and head over the first lane to the right (through the little "tunnel"). Keep heading straight along until you come to a small bridge over a small canal - and there is the hotel - right alongside the canal.

You have to remember that everything in Venice is narrow. The room was long and narrow (which was fine) except the air conditioner was on the other side of the room. The AC in my room was not adequate so my room was very hot. I opened the window at night to get air, but lots of mosquitoes came in and bit us all over. (There was lots of splattered blood stains on our walls from where everyone else obviously had the same issue - yuck). Again, this situation could have been avoided if the AC worked. Later, the hotel provided me with a plug-in that was supposed to keep mosquitoes away. Bathrooms are clean and big.

Thanks to Trip Advisor we heard of the lovely Ca' Zose hotel in Venice which was an absolute gem. We stayed for 4 nights in May 2008 and it was wonderful - a fabulous and spacious room, good location to explore bella Venezia, and friendly staff. The hotel is near the Peggy Guggenheim gallery and a short walk to the Ponte Academia (one of the main bridges in Venice). It's easy to explore the city (15 min walk to Piazza San Marco). I love Venice and look forward to a return stay at the Ca' Zose one day.

My wife and I found this a quiet, pleasant hotel, very conveniently situated (a short walk from the Salute vaporetto stop, and an even shorter walk from a traghetto point), with friendly staff. We had a couple of relatively minor quibbles. The first of these was that breakfasts were not as good as we expected: croissants in particular were always filled with some rather doubtful, sticky substance (apricot jam?) and never seemed particularly fresh; the only fruit was tinned peaches; and there was no ham or fresh cheese (there was something in a packet that might have been processed cheese, but my wife, who tried it (I didn't dare), wasn't sure). The other quibble was that Graziella (one of the two women who run Ca' Zose - the other is Valentina) e-mailed in response to a query of mine saying "tutte le camere ... hanno bagno privato e doccia", but that should perhaps have read "bagno privato o doccia" as our room only had a shower.

My husband had a very lovely, room overlooking a small canal on the top floor for this very quaint and cute hotel. The interior of the room, was quite lovely, with wooden beams above and two windows overlooking a small side canal. The room was very cozy and very clean. The staff at the hotel were nice. We did prefer the quieter feel of the Dorsoduro district, however we were just a traghetto ride from the hustle and bustle of St. Mark's Square. We had a very lovely experience at Ca' Zose

This was my husband and my first stop on our first visit to Italy, and we thoroughly enjoyed our stay at Ca'Zose. The place was very clean, nicely located for our needs, and the staff were very helpful and welcoming. We had opted for a 'standard' room, so had a "view" of a wall across the small street (alley) behind the hotel. However, we didn't pick the room type or the hotel for a view, since we expected to be out and about most of the time, and the room location had the advantage of being nice and quiet. The room itself was very nice, large by European non-luxury hotel standards, and had a large bathroom (but rather narrow shower). This was the highest priced hotel during our visit to Italy (Florence, Rome and Sorrento were the other places we went), but by Venice's high price measure, it was a good value for the money. Breakfast was the typical pastries, hard rolls, cereal, yoghur, juice and choice of hot drinks, but everything was nice and fresh, not packaged, and in ample supply. My husband appreciated the dishes of candy at the front desk! One thing worth mentioning is that we only discovered at check-out that we could have received a discount on the rate had we paid in cash. Booking directly (rather than through Venere) would also have reduced the rate, but since this was our first trip I appreciated the convenience of searching and booking through Venere.

I appreciated the fact that this hotel is run by the two sisters who own it. You can tell that they've put a lot of thought and pride into remodeling. The room was extremely clean and welcoming. Though the check-in wasn't as welcoming as I'd experienced at our last hotel in Florence, the sisters were helpful with information and even allowed me to use their computer free of charge. The location was quiet and a welcome haven from the touristy section of San Marco, and only a quick ride across the canal. One tip I'd like to offer. If you take the water bus to the hotel from the parking area or train station, take the #1, not the #82, and get off at the Salute stop, not the Accademia stop. You'll have far less distance and fewer bridges to traverse with your luggage. Buy a 24 or 72 hour pass on the water bus, or if you have four or more people, it's easier and about the same price as the pass, to take the water taxi to your hotel (55 euro). It'll drop you off almost at the front door. I highly recommend this hotel and the area. Shopping is less expensive on many items than around San Marcos.

My wife's and my three night stay in Ca' Zosa was entirely satisfactory. It is exactly the kind of hotel we like in our travels: small, unassuming, non-commercial, family operated, quiet but conveniently located. The room was amply sized, acceptably priced for a city like Venice and decorated with Venetian spirit. Being in good condition for our venerable years, we did not mind the lack of an elevator and the stair climb to our room. The beds were comfortable. Other than the small, pleasant breakfast room and the desk area, there are no public areas. Breakfast was sufficient for us two energetic walkers. The two women who run Ca' Zosa were splendidly helpful. We had a bit of a confrontation when I said at check-in that I wanted to cancel the fourth night of our reservation, but that was resolved to my complete satisfaction. My wife and I would certainly stay at Ca' Zosa again and recommend it to friends who might be going to Venice.

A wonderful 4 night stay with 2 young children surpassed our expectations. The dining area was a little cramped (but it was Venice after all). Breakfast, though 'continental', was extensive and no apparent limits - so no mad rush to find an early morning cafe to start the day. We had a quad room, first floor, overlooking the canal and our girls were constantly entertained by the passing tourists. It was also an excellent location -very close to the Salute vaporetto stop, although we preferred the traghetto over the Grand Canal which was even nearer to the hotel. There is a glass gallery/shop next to the hotel with a very entertaining artist (Ermano) who was only too happy to demonstrate his craft, no purchase necessary, such that a trip to Murano for our girls was avoided. We would recommend Locanda Ca Zose without reservation if you can go without a restaurant and a pool.

We had never been to Venice before and staying in this charming little hotel certainly enhanced our stay. The women who run the hotel were delightful and very welcoming. It is relly best to call it a bed and breakfast place as there is no provision for dinner and no public rooms at all apart from the breakfast room. But in Venice that scarcely matters as there are restaurants close by. Being on Dorsoduro is a big benefit as it is much quieter at night but only 10 minutes walk to San Marco. A wonderful place and we would go there again.

We have stayed in Venice on eleven previous occasions, and this was by far the most enjoyable and satisfactory. The two sisters (I sorry, I can't remember their names!) were so hospitable and welcoming - they went to great lengths to make sure that we enjoyed our breakfast (which we did) and did everything possible to help us. The hotel was immaculately clean, and decorated nicely. The staff was very friendly and accomodating. The location was convenient to the boat drop-off from the parking garage, and had a "taxi" stop on the next block so that you did not have to walk to the bridge to cross to the San Marco area. Only disappointment was the inability to make an Internet connection from our room, but the hotel is on a waiting list for DSL, and offered their personal computer for checking email.

We set off to Venice, having no idea what to expect, and were so thrilled when we arrived at Locanda Ca'Zose. It was set on an incredibly picturesque little canal, just off the Grand Canal, about halfway between the Church of Santa Maria della Salute, and the Guggenheim Museum, in a very quiet section of Dorsoduro. The reason there were no reviews about it was because it had only been open a month (we had booked it before it had even opened). It was quite lovely. The rooms were tastefully decorated; the entry floor, though small, was very welcoming, and there were Murano glass lighting fixtures everywhere. The baths were completely new, with either tub/showers, or showers. It was unseasonably hot in Venice during our stay, and the excellent air conditioning made me extremely grateful that I had insisted on a hotel that provided it. Everyone in my family of six, a somewhat picky lot I might add, were completely delighted with our stay at Ca'Zose. It will be the first place to which I will head, when I return to Venice(which I hope to do before not too long, as there is still so much more to see and do there--we barely scratched the surface). We feel we discovered a real find, and would not hesitate to recommend it to anyone who likes an outstanding location easily accessible to Saint Mark's, but away from the noise and congestion of that area. The breakfast buffet was more than adequate, and after the first morning, the owner had our expresso brewing for us by the time we came downstairs, each morning after. Ca'Zose was our favorite place during our trip to Italy.
