Not bad, a little disappointing. Narrow place to put one's things in the room (place de rangement insuffisante). No lift (an old thing in which you can just put your suit-case and wait for it upstairs, but not go yourself!). For breakfast, the "orange juice" is in fact a tasteless industrial liquid with a vague orange color... There is Venice, of course, and the hotel is well located, but it is a little dull.

This Hotel was the best choice ever in Venice. The staff was very helpful, the brekfast ladies were amazing. The room was more than good, super clean with lot of room, very spacious and cool (air conditioning in August- MUST HAVE!!!) The best I believe is the brekfast with so much to choose (we always left something on the table, can you believe that?) it was really goog. And the location is priceless. One or two stops from the ferrovia with a vaporeto or 5 minute walk, very easy to find. I dare say that this hotel is PERFECT, considering it's price per night including the amazing brekfast. Thankyou hotel MARCUOLA. We will be back.

very pricy for what it is as a hotel including service. i was expecting it anyway as all hotels in Italy (common knowledge all over the world)very pricy for the level of quality you get in return for your money.

We had a "canal view" room, which we found noisy with boats going by, even at night. Other than that, we were very pleased. Although only a hundred metres or so from a vaporetto stop, the hotel area is a peaceful oasis in an often crowded city. And a an excellent restaurant/shopping area is only a few minutes walk away. The staff are extremely helpful and accomodating. Note, though, that although the official schedule indicates that #2 vaporetto stops at San Marcuola, it doesn't, or at least not most of the time. So you have to use, or switch to, #1.

This was our second visit to Venice. The hotel is in a great location, easy access to the vaporetto which made finding the hotel and traveling to other parts of Venice very easy. There were great shops and restaurants nearby. My only complaint is that we were there in July, and after we left in the morning, the hotel turned off our air conditioner. When we returned on the first evening the room was horribly hot, making it difficult to sleep. The next day, when we asked, the hotel left the AC on and the room was quite pleasant. We also got some restaurant guidance from the desk clerk, and had a wonderful meal at a little "out of the way place". We even took our drinks out on the dock and watched the sunset.

We almost missed the entrance because the hotel sign was located very high on the building instead of by the door. We only stayed for one night, but all went very well. Our room was ready when we arrived and breakfast was very good the next morning.

The room was very comfortable, and the breakfast was much better than most that we had in Italy with a large selection. Because the weather was fairly hot we could not shut the windows. Being just off the San Marcuola vaporetto stop meant there was some noise until they stopped running. However, the nearness also meant convenience (we got a three-day ticket, and it was more than worthwhile). We would chose Ca' San Marcuola if we again visited Venice

The hotel is conveniently located close to the train station. You can either take waterbus #1 two stops, or you can also walk to the hotel (15 - 20 minutes). The Hotel is 50 yards from the waterbus stop and right on the Grand Canal. We stayed in a room on the first floor, and our windows actually opened up to a side canal. The room was spacious and clean. Our room (101) had two beds, a single bed and a double bed. The TV in the room was small and didn't receive any English channels. The bathroom was clean and average sized for Italy. The breakfast was very good and there were many choices. The waitress made a plate of meats and cheese for each table and there was yogurt, croissants and cereal to chose from. Overall, the hotel is a good value for Venice. I recommend buying a 24 hour pass to the waterbus and using the #1 line to go up and down the Grand Canal.

This was our first time to Venice and the location of the hotel (literally 50 yards from the San Marcuola Vaporetto stop on the waterbus line 1 as recommended by other venere reviewers) was simply easy and perfect to find. Whilst located away from the main tourist areas of the Rialto Bridge and San Marco Square, the location gave us the ideal opportunity to easily walk to them (15-20mins) and take in the markets, shops and views of Venice along the way. The hotel itself was well managed. The front desk was helpful and kindly provided a great map of venice for getting around. The breakfast of croissants, fruit, yoghurt, coffees and juice was more than enough each morning to prepare us for the day. Our double ensuite room with modern bathroom facilities was a good size, and clean and tidy. I would definitely recommended this hotel to my family and friends.

We could not believe what a great location this hotel is in! It was just steps from the San Marcuola vaporetto stop and a short walk (over only 1 bridge with a wheelchair ramp) to the stop for the vaporetto to the airport. Also, while the immediate vicinity of the hotel is very quiet, it is a short walk to many restaurants and shops, including a supermarket. We walked from the hotel to San Marco and the Rialto without difficulty. Our top floor room overlooked a small canal, which was charming except for the one morning when workmen down below got started very early. If the windows had been closed, the noise probably would not have been noticeable. We heard absolutely no noise from the other rooms on our floor. The bed was very comfortable. While the lighting in the bedroom was a little dim and could be improved, there was a very nice skylight in the bathroom which brought in a lot of natural light. The included breakfast was okay, but nothing special, and the coffee was weak, but we found an Illy caffe nearby with terrific croissants and espresso. The desk staff could be a little warmer. Overall, this was a very good value for Venice -- large, clean room, modern bathroom, quiet surroundings, and great location.

Our rooms were very clean and recently refurbished. The walls seemed a bit thin as we could hear our neighbours fairly clearly but that doesnt detract from a very good value for money stay. Unlike an earlier reviewer, we had no problems with the showers - very hot whenever we took them even though the hotel seemed to be quite full. Highly recommended.

Breakfast was substantial (if wanted) and of excellent quality. My request for a long bed, due to my height, was met admirably. Directions could be improved by saying that the hotel is within 100 metres of the San Marcuola vaporetto stop.

Quality level of the room was very good but a little bit noisy. Location of the hotel which otherwise is in an excellent quality state after the renovation is (at foot)quite far far the centre of the city (Rialto Bridge & San Marco). Problem for the tourists that the boat ticket is extremely expensive. But the beauty of Venice gives a full compensation !

Very convenient to Vapporetto stop with no bridges to cross with luggage. While far enough away from busy pedestrian thoroughfare to avoid that street noise, folks going to and fro Vapporetto stop can be noisy, especially on weekend nights, so best to ask for a room on side away from hotel entrance/Vapporetto passenger noise. Very convenient to neighborhood stores/restaurants, and an easy walk to the San Marco area. Hotel/room/breakfast area was clean, comfortable, expected size for Europe, and staff were helpful/friendly. I'd use the hotel again.

The hotel has an excellent location very near the San Marcuola Vaporetto site. Hotel staff were very nice. Our one complaint (which we noted to the manager) regarded the lack of hot water for showers. If you waited late enough at night the shower would probably be hot, otherwise it was only lukewarm at best and changed temperature randomly during a shower.

The hotel is very convenient to the water bus and isn't far from the train station. It is also near one of the main streets so it is easy access to shops, etc. It is, however, far from St. Mark's Square. I would advise taking the water bus to the Rialto and cutting through the streets. It is more enjoyable than the long, crowded bus ride all the way to St. Mark's. Our stay was very comfortable and the only place on our trip to Italy that offered a computer with Internet. One of the staff speaks great English but the same cannot be said for all of them. All in all it was a great stay. We would definitely stay here again.
