The staff were very prompt and helpful to every question/concern we had both before and during our stay. The hotel is very nice and located in a great area, it is about a 5-10 minute walk to St. Mark's Square, less than 5 minutes to the Rialto Bridge and the nearest waterbus stop. The street the hotel is on is quiet, so you will sleep well at night. All in all, we had a great stay and would definitely stay again should we find ourselves lucky enough to travel to Venice again.

i only have one complaint to make: it was so difficult to find the hotel, that it took me,carabinieri at the piazza in front of the hotel, shopowners etc. a long time to find the location, and the internet does not explain it properly.next to the pharmacia is a little lane leading directly to the hotel, but the receptionist told me a far more complicated way,so in the end she came down herself ,this was wasted time, and i had to cancel an appointment. the rest of the stay though was lovely, the girls are very competent and friendly,my room had a bohemian character, with a lovely little terrace, asahme i was on my own.for breakfast i would only recommend muesli and some dark bread.but i loved it there, and will definitly come back again, best regards, birgit beer-williams

From my German perspective: the breakfast is poor. The location 2 minutes from Rialto is great!!!! Style, cleanliness of rooms, aircondition, and location, location, location are the reasons why the relationship between price and quality is absolute excellent.

The room was tiny but wonderful. We had a private roof terrace with view to the Marcus place!! We stayed in the only room with private bathroom under the roof. Therefore the room was not that hight. The closets are very small but for a city trip you really do not need more. Breakfast was not huge but enough and very good. The location of the hotel is perfect, you walk out the door and stand almost on the Rialto bridge!! When we visit Venice again then for sure we will stay in this charming room with the private terrace again.

A location in the centre of Venice. You can reach most of the hot spots within some minutes by foot. The place is quiet, the rooms are big and clean and the team is very helpful. The breakfast could have been better. But it hold the standard of Italian accommodation providers of this catagory and there are enough bars in the neighborhood for having a greater choice.

The stairs were steep, but the welcome was second to none. The room was good (by the standard of hotel rooms in Venice) Clean, comfortable, suprisingly quiet for its central location just off the Rialto bridge. A good self service continental breakfast. The staff were cheerful and very helpful, recommending restaurants, and calling shops to check they were open over Easter. And we received an unexpected chocolate egg on Easter Sunday! Recommended.

We truly enjoyed our stay. It was an easy walk to St Mark's Square, and just steps from the Rialto Bridge. The staff was super helpful, friendly, and professional. We stayed in the room at the top... the steps are many, but if you don't have a problem with the climb, it was a great room with the private balcony. Francesco was very accommodating and super helpful! The breakfast was ample and tasty, and the espresso/latte machine made a delicious morning beverage.

The hotel was in a very good location near Rialto bridge and St. Mark's Square if you want to be by main tourist attractions. If I return to Venice in month of July again, I actually will not stay in the main tourist area because so many tourists and crowds and less in other areas of Venice. The room (2 twin beds) that we had was smaller than what you see in the photos (rooms appear much more spacious on web photos) but clean. The guy at the desk was very helpful and friendly and gave us a great recommendation for dinner. However, the girl did not. We asked her for a restaurant that made homemade pasta and she sent us to a tourist restaurant that did not! But overall, we were happy with our stay here.

It's close to Rialto bridge and the bus ferry station, convenient to catch the next train at the central terminal station with water transport from hotel in 10 mins. Hotel room was clean. The one we paid for comes with an attached bathroom and accompanying sunroof to suntan if you wish. It was a pleasant surprise. Breakfast was below average for our standards in our country but i guess comparable to other hotels in Venice.

A small breakfast room with 5-6 small tables and the food (rolls and jam) and coffee were terrible. We ate there only once( stayed for 4 nights). " The reception" was a desk in a door opening in the middle of a VERY long and steep stairs! With a heart condition and a bad hip we both had trouble with the stairs. VERY DISSAPOINTED with the hotel. The only thing that was GREAT , was THE LOCATION near to the Rialto bridge. But we will not recommend this hotel to others.

For our 25th anniversary, my husband and I brought our 3 kids to Europe. I consider it great luck that we discovered Ca' Leon D' Oro. The location was a stone's throw away from Rialto bridge and this made moving about Venice very convenient. The front desk personnel were very accommodating. Elinore in particular was very helpful.Despite being a small hotel, they provided all the essential comforts of home. I would definitely be staying at this hotel again given the opportunity.

This hotel is ideally located a few steps from the Rialto Bridge, down a quiet alley off Campo San Bartolomeo. It really could not be more central for sight-seeing in Venice. We had a triple room which was spacious, well furnished and very comfortable. The breakfast room was very cramped and breakfast was adequate, if a little eccentric - almost like being in a mobile home - but we had some good laughs with our fellow residents! Great value for money and we thoroughly enjoyed our stay and would go back. The hotel has steep stairs (we were lucky to be on first floor) and no lift, so would not be suitable for anyone with walking or climbing problems.

We truly enjoyed our stay in Ca' Leon D'Oro. It was conveniently located very near the Rialto Bridge. Our room was on the top floor, which had its own terrace, which we enjoyed even during winter. The room was clean and functional. Breakfast was very hearty, with a variety of croissants, rolls, yoghurt, juices, coffee (it was the best on our trip). The staff was friendly and helpful. Just an advice, you would need to climb many stairs so be prepared. All in all, I would definitely recommend this hotel.

A perfect location for travellers a little past the clubbing age who are looking for good value for money. Room was pleasant but not large. Staff helpful and friendly. The only area for improvement would be the breakfast room, which is rather cramped, and the coffee (from a vending machine) which was poor. My husband and I were in Italy for our first time. Venezia was our first "get away" trip from the business issues he'd been dealing with in Torino. The staff at the Ca' Leon D'Oro was wonderful. Both were pleasant and even wished my husband a happy birthday the day before and the day of his birthday. We had the smaller room on the top floor, but had no arguments about anything. We knew there were no lifts and that didn't bother us. The room was clean and comfortable. The bathroom was small but modern, and had everything a person needed. We were just a few minutes from the Rialto Bridge and St. Mark's Square, but the hotel was very quiet. The staff gave very good directions to us over the phone as to how to find them. The English spoken was very good. We truly preferred this cozy hotel over the 4 star hotel we'd been staying at in Torino. If we ever get another chance to visit Venezia, we'll stay at the Ca' Leon D'Oro again in a heartbeat. I do have to stress that if you're not in good health, that this probably isn't the hotel for you. There are several stairs to climb including one flight of stairs before you reach the reception desk.

The best thing about Ca' Leon D'Oro is the location. Located practically off the steps of the Rialto Bridge. This allowed us to "get lost" in Venice w/out worries, as anytime we'd want to get back home, we'd just follow the many signs pointed to the Rialto Bridge..and our hotel was right there. We stayed on the 2nd floor of the hotel (no elevator). Very clean and spacious...surprisingly bigger than our B&B in Rome. Beds are not the best..very springy. Staff is very warm and welcoming. Also left the breakfast room open for us, as we had to check out earlier that 8:15am. We were given a set of keys..so no checking in/out all the time. Internet was 5 euros for unlimited usage. Would definitely stay here again.

Very close to Rialto Bridge so very convenient. Rooms nice. Worlds heaviest hotel front door. Room wasn't ready although we arrived exactly when we said we would in the confirmation email. Although the sign on the front door stated reception available from 8am to 8pm, the receptionist left at 7pm leaving us with no way to pay at 7:10pm (6am departure the next morning)After a frustrating cell phone call with somebody at the other end of a cell number on a card at the desk, the receptionist came back and scolded us for being mistaken-the reception closing time is 7pm she said. When I pointed out the sign downstairs on the front door says 8pm, she replied, "Well that is an old sign" and proceeded to show me a "new" sign in the reception area behind luggage, behind a curtain. She didn't seem to take the logical suggestion to edit the sign below on the entry door (you know the one everybody can see...) very well, so I doubt it has been changed.

I would definitely recommend this hotel. It is literally just feet away from the Rialto-great location in the heart of the action, yet quiet. The front desk staff is great. They speak very good English which is so helpful. The breakfast was the best we had in Italy (where breakfast usually isn't much). It was a couple pastry options, coffee, juice yogurt and cereal. The room was clean, spacious, comfortable beds, very reasonably priced mini bar. There is a super market close by which we always use to keep our beverage cost down. Make sure you take the directions on your confirmation from Venere, they are excellent and you'll need that level of detail. The only caution is steps...lots of them, steep and narrow. Get a Donna Leon novel for your trip to Venice. She's an American author who lives in Venice and uses it as the setting for her books. The best tip we got was the ramp at the train station if you are wheeling luggage. As soon as you get off the train, just off the front of the tracks, go left. There is a door to a ramp so you can avoid the steps. Murano was the only site we took in that wasn't worth our time.

The location of the hotel was very good, easy to get to from the Rialto Bridge and other attractions. The price is good for Venice. The drawback is walking up several flights of stairs with luggage (no elevator).

The room was very big, good, excellent free internet. The only thing very poor is the breakfast is nothing just sweet bread, yogurt, milk, coffee, chocolate or tea. No fruits, no cheese, no ham, no eggs.. nothing salty. This bed and breakfast has 30 stairss before arriving the first floor were the reception and two rooms are.. so it is not good for mature people. Location is good but I like better close to San Marcos.

Rooms were small but very clean. When in Venice who cares about the size of the room as long as you have a bed and a shower!! Girls at the desk were very friendly and helpful, great location, easy to find, would definitly stay again!

For Venice, the rooms were quite spacious and comfortable, particularly considering the modest price. There's no lift and our rooms were on the second floor, so one has to be reasonably fit. Reception personnel were very nice, friendly, and spoke excellent English. We enjoyed our stay very much and the locations is ideal—one block to the Rialto Bridge and a short walk to St. Mark's Piazza.

Breakfast was a little bit disappointing. It would have been nice to have a bit better coffee and bread. I worried about noise from the streets because the hotel is located in a busy area, but, it was very quiet, which, I think, is because the hotel is just one block behind that busy area. However, at night, there was unidentifiable noise about every 40 minutes, similar to air-conditioning or heating system noise, none of which was actually on, when we were staying. Other than these minor things, spacious rooms are just like the photos on the web, everything was clean, all the employee were very nice to accommodate our needs, and the location was fantastic.I would recommend this hotel to other travelers, particularly who do not have good sense of direction and worry about coming back to the hotel late at night as it is located in busy area and so easy to find.

This hotel has a perfect location, just a minute from the Rialto Bridge. The staff, Julia especially, was very nice and helpful. Our room was quite large and as there was a heat wave, we wecomed the air conditioning. There is no elevator and only a narrow staicase which would have to be a consideration for some people. The breakfasts were of a more continental variety, but quite good. We were there for four days and loved every minute.

I can say it is an excellent location.. lots of restaurants and stores around the area. Overall, the hotel is highly recommended.. will definetely go back there in the future.

The Ca' Leon D'Oro is well located, about 50 yards from the Rialto Bridge. Restaurants, shops and the farmer's market are nearby. The hotel only has five rooms. There is no elevator. Venice is very expensive, so it was a relatively good value.

Elisa and Eleonora were two of the most helpful and friendly people I have ever encountered at a hotel reception. They went way out of their way to make sure every need I had was met, and even needs I didn't know I had. They made concert reservations, figured out a very complicated transportation question, and even left the breakfast room open overnight with a breakfast packed for us since we were leaving at 3am! The location was great. Being so close to the Rialto bridge, it is easy to wander and not even need a map to get home because of signs for the Rialto. Very spacious rooms. I would highly recommend this place and will come back again.

My husband and I have been to Venice many times and this was a great hotel for location, easy arrival with bags, and nice service. For the price, you should know you do not get a huge room and that's not what we were after. We wanted to be able to get the St Marks Square and Campo Santa Margarita for Franco's pizza and pasta. I would definitely stay here again as the reception personnel were nice as well.
