Beware that the staff leaves in the early evening so if you don't have an international cell phone, you'll have to stop someone on the street to borrow a phone to call the staff to give you the pass code to get in after 8pm. Also, there is no lobby for sitting/reading the paper, etc. The desk clerks can be terse. However, the rooms are extremely clean and well-decorated. The breakfast is good and the decor is beautiful. It's a great location away from tourist mobs. Beware also of a fee charged if using a credit card. We really enjoyed our comfortable room and large bathroom. A very nice place if you don't need any "extras" or "service."

Apostoli palace is another of the tiny hotels in Venice which survive due their internet web site. We were attracted by some rhapsodic reviews, reality was more prosaic . The Apostoli Palace is on the middle floor of a Venetian building , which looks run down from the outside . The floor above our room was inhabited by small children who enjoyed rolling heavy objects across the floor, they went to bed early .

A good welcomiong hotel, in a good area. The only downside was not being able to have breakfast or even coffee, while checking out-we had a ryanair flight, and had to check out of the hotel at 6 am. THe prices arehigh- but this seems the norm for Venice

A lovely friendly clean little hotel. In a very quiet area, but fairly easy access to the main sights. A five minute walk to the vaporetto (public water bus) or 15 mins walk from the basilica etc. It is more convenient to get to from Marco Polo airport by water (getting off at Fondamenta Nueva) than by the bus to the Piazza.

This stay was one of the best we have ever had in a hotel all over Europe - and we do really travel a lot! The welcome was extremely cordial, the rooms were nicely equipped and perfectly clean and the technical equipment of the hotel was excellent. And furthermore, the hotel was located in the heart of Venice and the price for the stay (including breakfast) was unbeatable for that category. Altogether - simply a perfect combination!

We enjoyed this hotel a lot. It is located away from the Grand Canal, but within easy walking distance of the Ca d'Oro vaparetto stop. The room was nice, the hotel staff were friendly and helpful, the breakfasts were very good. I would definitely recommend this hotel.

Little off the main track but lovely hotel and service. Quality of the room for the price was a plus. Residental location provides different and quieter view of Venice. Would stay here again.

Generally this is a very nice hotel, however there were a couple of things that made our stay less pleasant that we hoped 1) Avoid staying in the room to the right of the building (when you are facing the main entrance) if you can, they have a very noisy neighbour who plays LOUD music at ALL times of the day and it THUDS through the walls. Not good if you are there to rest and the music starts at 6am! 2) The rooms have no hot drink facilities, so if we wanted a cup of tea, we would have to ask, then found at the end of our break (of just four days) that we have been charged an extra 30 Euros for our hot drinks! This was especially irritating, as the kitchen area/breakfast area was just outside our room, we could have easily done this ourselves, the facilities and products used were the same facilities that were used for breakfast and we rarely took advantage of breakfast anyway - so they ended up quids in which ever way you look at it. Venice was a lovely place to visit, but for us, 4 days we just too long, there is not enough to see. I am a seasoned traveller and after 4 days I left Venice never wanting to go back, having been ripped off at every opportunity by the local traders - don't think of Venice as a magically romantic city, for me it was just a older looking Disney land where they are looking to take your money on every corner!

Generally a very pleasant stay. We were very impressed with the room. However a couple of things spoilt it slightly. The heating in the room didn't seem to work very well, we came back wet and cold after a rainy day and the air blowing out of the heater was cold. The shower turned hot and cold, and the water was not hot enough to run a bath. It was not that the hot water ran out, just not hot enough. When we complained about the water the man said British people like their baths a lot hotter! but he would look into it. Nothing was done. The situation is great, out of the way, but seconds walk to the hustle and bustle.

As is typical of hotels in Venice, rooms were a bit on the small side, however, very comfortable. The area in which the hotel is located was very queit if a little off the beaten track. Facilities as expected were limited yet acceptable.

Lovely, small hotel, family owned. Very friendly, welcoming and helpful. We had the best room in the house, I think, with a small balcony overlooking a courtyard. Great, quiet location. This was a wonderful splurge for us.

We arrived in Venice on a hot day; and there was a unscheduled morning strike which forced us to disembark at the Rialto Bridge.... and then to walk back to the map coordinates to find the hotel. So when we arrived were hot, sticky and irritable. We were then confronted with a 'rate' problem....which, apparently seemed to be due to your (Venere.com) not sending the e-mail/web rate that we had agreed to to the Apostoli Palace....who thought that we were booked at regular rates. It is a family owned newly refurbished property and they were very pleasant and worked to resolve the problem. Since I hadn't made nor carried any copies of my Venere.com correspondence, and they hadn't been notified I would recommend that (1) Venere.com include its member(s)on all correspondence, and (2) you notify, more than once on the website, that the prospective guest/tourist make and carry a hard copy of the agree-upon rate. We enjoyed our stay and would recommend the hotel and management. We particularly enjoyed staying in a Venetian neighborhood, one with food stores, hair salons, and a sense of daily life.
