Nice little hotel (breakfast: Italian standard; no elevator) runned by a lovely elderly lady, only Italian speaking (but no problem!). Fantastic situated near the old ghetto and most waterbus lines. 50 m to next supermarket an 50 m to next restaurant. very recommendable!!

This was our first stay in Venice & this accommodation and we would definitely go back to both. The welcome and service was friendly and individual by the proprietor who doesn't speak English. The room was beautifully presented & maintained but not spacious and the lack of communal areas means that breakfast is room service only. The hotel was easy to get to by water bus from the airport & 20-30 mins walk from St Mark's square. A positive experience and I would definitely recommend this for a city break on a budget.

It was a little hard to find and Maria the grounds keeper helped us find it. I liked it ok but would stay in another room next time. The room she gave us was on the ground floor right next to the street so it was noisy all night and really noisy in the morning when we tried to sleep in. The room was small but it had a bed and shower and a/c so it was good enough. Easy walking distance to everything no need for a water taxi. I recommend this hotel to the traveler on a budget. And Maria brought coffee and croissants to the room in the morning

Located on a narrow alley between two canals in a residential area of Venice, yet a short walk to vaporetti stops, and 15 mins walk to Rialto. You will need to be a good map reader! The room was just large enough. Not much natural light and no view because of the alley and the small window. The alley was busy, people going to work and children going to school. There was a coffee bar opposite, an excellent bakery and a convenient small supermarket. At the top of the alley was a popular trattoria with tables by the busy local canal (photo on web site), and others nearby. We recommend to budget travellers like us.

Given the location of Alloggi Sardegna - in Venice, price vs quality is allright. It is located in the less busy area of the city which is also a pre. It is a recommendable place to stay.

Small unpretentious hotel : extremely clean rooms for below-average price in the venter of Venice, so a good deal overall. But if you're looking for service, forget it : no reception, inability of the (friendly) staff to speak a word of English...just count on yourself (all the more as this city doesn't even have a tourist office...what a shame!). Beware though : despite being located in a area of Venice pleasantly deserted by tourists, nights and mornings are very noisy : bars close-by are frequented by italian students who don't really care about neighborhood quietness... A fair choice Note : after visiting Lido, consider staying there, it should be cheaper, less noisy, and not so far from city center !

I thoroughly enjoyed my stay here and a special thanks to the owners. I was greated with a friendly smile and all needs (very limited needs mind you) were taken care of. I opted to skip the breakfast as I enjoy getting out before the crowds and finding a small cafe to have my morning coffee. My room was on the ground floor but very quiet due to the proximity of the hotel. It's down a quiet and clean ally just off one of the main drags. My room was very clean and had everything I needed. The only thing they don't offer is Internet access but this is easily acquired down the street at a local restaurant. Also, there's a grocery store down the same ally that offers convenience and great selection. A hidden gem in Venice! Tim Daugherty Chattanooga, TN

Perfect stay. The owner, though only speaking Italian, is fantastic and 100% understandable. The room is clean and calm although a tad small. The breakfast is far from fantastic but this slight flaw is well compensated by the rest. I would certainly go back there.

The web agency online should explain better where the accommodation is located since there are different "Calle del Forno" in Venice! It could cause some problems if the tourist does not know that. The lady is wonderful, very welcoming and super efficient. We would raccomend it and come back!

It´s a very lovley house with small but very lovingly setted rooms. The welcoming and personally service was really excellent. The location of the house is ideal, if you are looking for small places and quiet places. On the other hand you are nearly enough at the next vaporetto station, the railway station and Rialto. We was very happy to find this house. Grazie Maria!

The hotel is in an excellent location - not too touristy and with plenty of bars and cafes close by. However, like all hotels in Venice it is expensive for what you actually get (notably very small rooms) with zero extra facilities. No fridge, no tea & coffee making equipment etc. However, the room was very clean and was also very quiet. If you treat it as merely a bed to sleep in you won't be disappointed and I guess most visitors to Venice will want to be out and about all day to make the most of it.

Excellent neighborhood. Close to water taxi stations. Clean, clean rooms and nice bathrooms / showers. Within walking distance of train station but not too close. Maria is very friendly and competent but does not speak English. Breakfast is not served but there is a cafe directly across the alley that serves continental breakfast and coffee and is very good.

The place was out of the way and had no elevator, which made getting bags to the room difficult. The rental person didn't speak a word of English, so that made things hard, but was very sweet! The room was clean and comfortable, but extremely noisy in the morning. However, if you are looking for something off the beaten track with a neighborhood feel, this would be fine for you.

The innkeeper at Aloggi Sardegna is a wonderful lady. She will clearly and cheerfully explain the terms of service to you in Italian, and you will understand perfectly, even if you don't speak Italian yourself. The rooms are spotless and a good value for Venice. The inn is easy enough to find from the train station, but located far enough from the beaten path to be quiet at night. Also, self-caterers will be delighted to know there's a grocery store and a bakery a few doors down. Really, a lovely place.

Perfect hotel to stay a little offside all tourists. Not good if you need much space. Very romantic and beautiful to walk around the canals and escaping a while from a world with cars. We think a nice quality vs. price rate to stay near to the center.

Good quality/price. Clean. We would go back. Big enough for a couple of nights (but it would feel too cramped for longer stay). Bfast brought in our rooms when we want (hot chocolate is excellent! The croissant is not.). The woman taking care of the place did not speak English, only Italian, but we managed to understand each other with a lot of hand gestures. Convenient to be close to the train station since you don't have to carry your bags throughout Venice. However, the area is dark after 9-10pm and there aren't many people on the sidewalks. I wouldn't recommend it to women traveling alone (unless you plan on returning to the B&B early in the evening).

We liked the location of this hotel because it was not in the main tourist area so it was very quiet in the area. There is also a nice grocery a few meters away where you can buy food and other stuff. A wine shop and a gelateria as well as restaurants and a bakeshop are also within 20 meters of the hotel. The rooms are small but very clean and the fixtures in the bathroom are new so that was great. We would stay there again.

We spent 4 nigts in Alloggi Sardegna and had a great time over here : very good situated not too far from the train station (15min) and the town centre (20min), but far enough to escape the busy tourism. Around the corner you find all usefull places : newspaper shop where you can also buy the ACTV tickets or postcards, the bistro where we used to have our breakfast (among the local people) and the wine shop. Many good restaurants in the surroundings : Ostaria al Bacco, Ostaria da Rioba,... Besides the good boat connection towards town centre also very close to the vaporetto station Madonna dell’Orto where you can take a boat to Murano and Burano. Good choice !

Top!

Very nice and exceptionally clean place. Close to bars and restaurants situated in an area that is not crowded by tourists. Easy to reach from Piazzale Roma and Railway Station. Rooms no. 1 and no. 2 are on the ground floor and are probably quite noisy. Breakfast is fairly poor, but as an overall impression Alloggi Sardegna is a great and comfortable place to stay in Venice for few days.

The hotel is managed by Signora Maria alone (that I could see), but she does an excellent job. The rooms are extremely small with very nice furnishing though. Location around city is excellent. If you do not use a website to book your room, like my friends who decided to join us at the last moment: we just got a quote from Maria, but when we checked out, she told my friend that the daily charged was 20 euros higher than the quote!

The hotel was just what we needed. Only 10 minutes from the city centre and also 5-10 minutes from the rail way station, as well as the vaporetto station. The surrounding is very quiet and beautiful, much better than in the hectic centre. The staff was very caring and attentive to us. The rooms are quite small, but very cosy and comfortable. Ideal variant for those who do not plan to spend a hell of money for 5*, 4* hotels near San Marco!

This place was excellent. The rooms were cozy, clean and well-kept. The staff were very friendly and helpful, and having breakfast delivered to our room every morning was quite nice (just dial 0 or 9, i think ;-)! Although we were told that we could phone for breakfast if we wanted it between 7:30 and 10:00 we were woken every morning at precisely 9:00 and told that breakfast was coming to our room.
