Residenza Ca' San Marco - Venice

Hotel is located in the heart of Venice and close to St. Marks Square and other attractions. Close to all the shops. Room is very clean with all required facilities. Not so spacious but not too small. The staff is very supportive. Highly recommended.

The staff at the Residenza ca san marco were absolutely excellent and very friendly. The hotel was really clean and our room far exceeded our expectations with split level and balcony. It was in a prerfect location to experience the city at it's best. Thank you to all at residenza ca' san marco for making our trip truly memorable!

A realy excellent place to stay, right in the centre of Venice but very quiet. It's worth going on to the hotel's own website to print out their directions which made it very easy to find. A good breakfast and nice (English speaking) staff. Definitely somewhere I would return to next time I'm in Venice...

It's our first time in Venice, we enjoyed touring around Venice as well as staying at this place. The location is superb! 2 mins walk to St Marco and 5 mins walk to Rialto Bridge. Even though we get lost everytime when we try to get back to the hotel, but hey, that's the fun of Venice!

Hard to find. But after, it's a beautiful place to stay.

Stayed at the Junior Suite for 2 nights. Very good value for price, the room is spacious, overlooking the canal as described. A few downsides where the breakfast quality that was not great, the bathroom leaking a bit of water on the floor of the bathroom, drinks in the mini-bar not replaced... Minor stuff details this is not a 5 star hotel but for this location and price we were pretty about it.

We very much enjoyed this hotel. It was very difficult to find, but then again Venice is hard to navigate b/c the streets arent labeled well. Despite that, the location was great and near everything. We would stay here again.

Great location between the Rialto Bridge and St. Mark's Square with a very short and easy walk from the Rialto waterbus stop (a big plus when arriving and departing with luggage in tow). Nicely decorated room and modern bathroom made for a very pleasant stay. Hotel staff very helpful and attentive.

We enjoyed this hotel very much. It was a little ways from the center of Rome, however the public transportation was close and the taxis we took did not cost too much. The breakfast was great, the best we had in Italy and the staff was very helpful with everything. We would definately stay there again. It is a little hidden gem.

The awesome experience. Price was little high, but that due to late reservation and high season. The location is very good. At walking distance from St. Mark Square. Railway station at 5 minute ride from water bus. Staff was quite helpful. There is nothing wrong with the hotel. Simply superb.

Excellent. I'd recommend this hotel to anyone unless they had difficulty in climbing higher than usually stairs or carrying luggage up & down said stairs. Our room looked out over a fairly busy & noisy pedestrian only road & there was a fair amount of noise from passers by which I thought would disturb us at night. However as Venice is not Barcelona it went very quiet after 10:30pm & we had no difficulty in sleeping.

We stayed 5 days in the hotel (standard double room). The location of the hotel is great, just between S. Marcs square and Rialto bridge, a very nice and central part of the town. We walked everywhere on foot. The room was small, but nicely decorated and clean. Breakfast was better than expected for an italian breakfast. The staff was always friendly and helpful. We would stay there again.

Good to know: no heating before end of October! and this seems to be for all Venice

A wonderful hotel right in the middle of the heart of Venice between Rialto bridge and San Marco Square. Though a little hard to find the first time, it is well worth finding! We would stay there again.

Location, location, location!! Rooms adaquate. Who's going to Venice for the room?! Location wonderful for seeing much of Venice and staff very helpful.

There was the bad news and the good news. I had read the reviews so i knew that the hotel could be difficult to find - and it is. There is just a small plaque on the wall to identify it. The bad news was that we were not staying in this hotel, rather their other accommodation in a separate building. Turned out to be excellent news as the other building is much easier to get too. The room was huge and well decorated with excellent bathroom facitlities. Fantastic value for money.

Did not appreciate the fact that the room had no view at all, just a high window from which you couldn't even see the sky.

We can recommend this hotel to everyone because it has a great value for money. The location in the center of town is perfect, very close to san marco and the rialto bridge. The rooms are charming, clean and very quite.The breakfast buffet was more than we expected (and we have already visited many hotels before).Only couples with children I wouldn't recommend this hotel because there is not much in and around the hotel to entertain them, also the tv is very small

Clean hotel ,but very,very difficult to find .We weren't sent any map and there is no sign outside the hotel to help spot it . It looks more like a private house than a hotel .It is situated near San Marco plaza , which is a good point .The breakfast quality is rather poor . Our general impression:A bit expensive for the category .

The hotel is very well located. Just 2 minutes walk to rialto bridge and 5 minutes to san marcus square. The hotel is very clean and quiet. The room is in old venezian style, not very big but enough space to walk around the bed. The bath is very clean and has a good shower. The hotel is situated in a very small lane, so you can hardly see the sky out of the window and you can't tell how the weather will be. The breakfast room is very tiny and a bit dark and the breakfast is poor. All in all it's a very good place to stay if like to explore the city. If you like just to relax in the hotel, it's not the wright place. I would stay in the hotel again, because it's clean and perfect situated.

My location is in april. But, in summer, i suppose that this place is very hot and noisy.But perhaps the climatisation is good

Very nice hotel, nice staff. Breakfast only so-so. Rooms were very nice. Hotel consists of two buldings, the main bulding and a separate building which they seem to run for another company. We spent several nights at the other bulding and one night at the main bulding. The main building is much nicer and if I were to stay at this hotel again would want to stay at the main building - quieter. We stayed during the volcano erution, which disrupted our travel plans. The owner and staff were very nice allowing us to use their computer and make calls.

EXCELLENT location. This is by far the best, if not the only, asset of this hotel. As for the rest : small rooms, quite disappointing breakfast,and rather impersonal atmosphere. But being smack in the centre of Venice is really nice and convenient.

Nestled on Venice's main island, just a 15 minute walk to San Marco Square. The employees were welcoming and very helpful - they even helped us book a hotel elsewhere for a following night because they were all booked up.

It is a small comfortable hotel, located within close walking distance to San Marco Piazza. Staff were very friendly and provided us with information on sites to see.

Wonderful hotel, great location! The hotel is very centrally located, but being down a lane it is very quiet which is fantastic! It is close to Rialto bridge and could be difficult to find, but the hotel provide very clear directions with the bookign confirmation. The rooms are quite small, but they are furnished very well and the bathrooms have whirlpool baths which is lovely after a day walking around Venice in the cold. For the rate I was paying it was wondeful to get such a nice, very clean, room in such a great location. The staff were lovely and very helpful. The breakfast buffet is fairly limited, but it is all fresh.

Employees are really helpful and we got changed to a bigger room in another building arossing the canal,but not far indeed, and the room is much more BIGGER than i thought which has a second floor... breakfast is just downstairs and serves good quality food. i was disturbed by mosquitoes at the only night i stayed there, but eventually found it was quite normal in winter during my stay in Italy...

The Hotel had a very quite location and also directly near the San Marco Square. It was very clean and the breakfast was ok too. We only can say that we would book this hotel for our ext visit in Venedig too!!

Very nice small hotel in great location. The hotel is situated in a calle (alley) outside the main road, so even though it is near the main attractions (San Marco, Rialto) the surroundings are very quiet. Only a few minutes to vaporetto (Rialto). Breakfast is more than OK, even incl. hot chocolate. Wifi is not free (Euro 2 for 15 minutes). Water stream from shower rather weak. Highly recommended hotel with a good service.

Jaccuzzi is very small bath

My wife and I stayed here for one night. It was hard to find, however the hotel did email us very specific directions prior to our trip. This was really fantastic!! The hotel itself is relatively small and the rooms especially are nice and cozy. Breakfast was above average and for the location I don't think we could complain. Oh yeah, the jacuzzi tub was a nice surprise after walking around Venice all day!

An excellent place to stay in Venice, great location, charming property, competent and friendly staff

Very difficult to find, especially in the middle of a heavy rainfall! The room was small, but adequate. The staff were informative about tourist locations and clear on the directions they gave.

Perfect location, quiet but so near to both St Mark's and Rialto. Easy to find with the hotel's directions, and near to vaporetto stop so easy with luggage. Good value for money and nice friendly staff. Would be tricky for disabled people or with pushchairs. First time there and would definitely stay there again...

We only use a hotel as a base to explore from so top marks for location ,unfortunately top location means top prices..the hotel was clean breakfast good staff very friendly

Our stay was really nice, but we decided to change rooms because the Standard double we received originally had absolutely no view, and was rather dark. We chose to upgrade for a Junior Suite, which is the room shown in the pictures on Venere. This room was really great: spacious, clean, with a nice balcony and a view directly on a small canal.

I found the hotel to be one of the typical small hotels in venice. this hotel compared to others i've stayed in was good value for money. i will definitely stay again.

Room 103 is very small (9,3 m²) plus bath. Breakfst ist quite small.

Ideal location and we were lucky to get a room upgrade to a junior suite. Hotel slightly odd with bedrooms and breakfast room in a seperate building to the reception, but rooms were to a high standard, breakfast excellent, and the place was immaculately clean. Stayed for 3 nights for my wifes birthday. Was just about the right length to see the local sights, any longer and we would have been looking at excursions. Its a beautiful city for grown ups, with no cars, no youfs - I think the nicest European city Ive been to. You can get art galleried out - by the final day Id seen enough Madonnas and Bambinos to last a lifetime. Oh yes - and it doesnt smell - at least in late September

Great location. 5 Minutes from Realto, and 10 minutes (max) to St Marks Square. Cool little narrow street off the beaten path. Left the window open at night, it was very quite. People were great, price was right, breakfast was adequate. 15 minute walk to the north side of the island. DO not go here for the view, go here for a good value and nice people. You are not going to spend any time in your room anyway. Room was small (did not have a suite) but laid out well. Unpacked two full suitcases, had plenty of storage for all our clothes and suitcase out of the way storage.

This is an excellent, beautiful little place on a tiny, quiet alleyway amidst the bustle of Venice's tourist area. It's not hard to find, though, as the hotel sends very good, specific directions to get there. I don't know how it would be if you have heavy baggage (we had none, as we were there only for 1 night), as I didn't see any elevator and there are 3 floors, I think. Great hotel for the price. Highly recommend.

We think that there was quiet and very kind mood in the hotel. But you has forgotten to tell, that you have to go to the left, when you come to Cartier ;-)

Spacious room. Very good breakfast i ncluded in the daily rate. Helpful staff. Close to Saint Marco and Rialto.(a pro and a con considering this is one of the most crowded touristic areas=.

The room was clean, good interior, bathtub with jakuji, good breakfast, but the room was extremely small and conjusted, with no view. It is not situated on the main street and hence not easily located or reachable, but important tourist spots are quite well accessible. The staff was good and helpful.

I don't think we could have found a better and more affordable hotel so close to St. Mark's Square. The location is excellent, just down the alley across from the Foot Locker. The staff was friendly and very helpful. They also offered a nice breakfast with freshly brewed coffee. The decor is traditional Venetian and quite nice. We would definitely stay here again.

This was our first time in Venice.the location of the hotel could not have been better. our room was spacious clean and comfortable. the balcony was a bonus. Reception staff were very helpful. the only negative was finding the hotel on the first day, but thats just Venice.

Very nice hotel, very well located, some rooms are located at buildings a few meters from main building, however this was not a problem

Travelled with spouse. Breakfast choices were very limited and boring. Well located for sight-seeing and shops, although it was down a sunless, narrow passageway and very difficult to find. No fun after a day's train journey lugging suitcases from the station, across several stepped bridges and many passageways. There are no cars in this part of Venice, therefore no taxis or public transport other than ferries which can take you only part of the way.

Nos fue dificil loclaizar el hotel. habiamos llegado de noche y los mapas de Venecia no son muy exactos. Es dificil de llegar, pero tan pronto llegamos, fue muy placentero. Me sorprendio cuando me contestaron que tenia cuando años porque parece totalmente nuevo. Nos gusto mucho el hotel. Es un poco caro, pero en Venecia, todo es caro. Las atenciones no podian ser mejores.

Muy bien ubicado, cerca tanto de la plaza san marco como del puente del rialto. las habtaciones son muy comodas y espaciosas. Sin duda supero mis espectativas y me volveria a quedar en el hotel.

We paid 85 euros a night for our room and it was the best deal imaginable. It is perfectly located near the Rialto Bridge. The hotel is difficult to find the first time, so mapquest it ahead of time and try your best to follow the hotel's directions (we failed at first). The rooms are even more beautiful than the photos suggest. Even my Italian hosts were impressed with this find. Breakfast is not so good though.

Ein besseres Angebot kann man in dieser zentralen Lage wohl kaum finden. Nur ein paar Meter abseits der "Hauptstrasse" zwischen Rialto und San Marco, und man befindet sich auf einem auch tagsüber ruhigen, erholsamen Platz, wenn man sich mal zurückziehen möchte. Da gibt es nichts zu bemängeln. Gutes Frühstück, und auf kleinem Raum alles sehr effizient. Da gehen wir gerne wieder hin.

The hotel was fine, between the Rialto and St Mark's Square. The staff were polite and helpful and overall we had a good time.

The hotel was very nice - small rooms but more than adequate for a sleeping space and extremely clean! The directions available on the hotel website were not correct (one street name was wrong & the stores used as land marks in the directions were not there when actually on the street); unfortunately when I contacted the hotel directly I was told to follow the directions on the webpage...Lucky for us there was a nice gentlemen in a small market at 11:00pm that was able to point us to the alley we needed.

Travelled with teenage daughter. Twin room was very nice with heavy traditional wallpaper and traditional furniture. Not easy to find, down tiny, alleyway. Too many different staff on reception, so no continuity of service. Made one intenational call that was very important. Beware, hotel charged blatant outrageous prices for phone call. In 2009 Interational calls are cheap, but not according to this hotel. This ruined the experience.

Ca' San Marco is a little beautiful hotel just 5 minutes walk from Piazza San Marco. It was my second time there and no bad surprises. The room was clean and redecorated, with frigobar, hairdryer and safe. The employees are kind and helpful. No elevator. No public areas with sofà or television. Croissant, bread, coffee, juices, fruit jams, cheese for breakfast. Price is very very good for the expensive Venice. I recommend this hotel.

I stayed during 3 nights and was alone. The room was not spacious. It was just convenient for 1 person. Breakfast is light, but for the price it's OK. There is no lounge, just a desk, but the employees are sympa. The must is the situation and quitness in the centrum. A good adress not expensive.

The hotel is right in the center between Rialto and San Marco, but not immediately on the main street, making it much quieter at night. The staff were very friendly and competent. The rooms, although quite small, were extremely clean. The bathroom was quite large in comparison to that of other colleagues who stayed at more expensive hotels in the area. The breakfast doesn't offer a 'large' selection, but is satisfactory. I would certainly stay there again.

Got exactly what was said on the packet. The room seemed a little small at first but got bigger as we went along... Overall a very pleasant small hotel. The breakfast was quite adequate as long as you remember that Italians do not eat a large cooked breakfasts. Yes, remember "The Foot Locker" shop!! One would think that there could not possibly be an hotel down the dark little passage opposite but it is there. The door is round the corner 25 meters down round a left hand turn a further 25 mtrs. under the first ( low) lamp.

The rooms are great! decoration is nice, good size of the room, friendly staff. i would definetly stay here again! it's very close to the plaza san marco but it's very easy to get lost and you end walking a lot! so make sure to have your printed map (even with it you get lost the first couple of times, then it's very easy).

We stayed at the san marco in sept 08 for my wife's birthday and we loved it. The staff couldn't have been more helpful, they arranged flowers for my wife, made us up a breakfast bag for the morning we left. The location is perfect, very close to the rialto bridge. When we go back we will stay there again.

Everything was exactly as offered. We'll be back , for sure!

Great service and location. A bit pricey though.

We were lucky enough to have been given the Junior suite on our first night (although this was an error). Junior suite had a balcony which overlooked a canal. We had to move to a smaller room on our second night which was a bother, but the smaller room was lovely as well (no view though). Location was excellent - between St Marks and the Rialto Bridge. With the directions provided we were easily able to find the hotel - very close to the Rialto bridge. Staff were lovely. Breakfast was minimal but sufficient for me. My daughter was a bit more fussy.

Das Hotel liegt ganz nah am znetralen Ort in Venedig - San Marco, Rialto. Personal ist sehr freundlich, kann auch relativ gut Englisch. Das Hotel war etwas schwierig zu finden, wenn mann aber die Anweisungen genau folgt (was wir leider etwas verpasst haben) dann gelangt mann ziemlich schnell am Ort. Füstuck nicht besonders umfangreich... nicht mal Käse oder Wurst zum Brötchen. Was das Zimmer anbetrifft, so sieht das genau wie auf dem Bild aus. ganz gemütlich (wenn auch klein) und Sauber. Für diejenigen die es interessiert - Zimmermädchen kann Russisch ...

Having stayed at equivalently-priced places during our stay, we were really delighted. We were given great directions, the location in San Marco couldn't have been more central, the decor was beautiful, the breakfast ample, and there was air-conditioning, to top it off.

Get a detailed map. Very easy to miss the hotel. Venice is fantastic! You lucky people who live there! We had 2 nights at Residenza Ca' San Marco. Brilliant location, so near the bridge & the square. Very quiet & small. Helpful staff - but they did forget our early wakeup call - which messed up our plans. So take your own alarm. Breakfast could be more imaginative, Very plain & boring. For the price, some real cheese & bread would be good.! But yes we would go back!! Jane & Ronnie K

Ok, This hotel is a great location if you do not care about having a view (I do not). It is very clean and in a great location. The price was unbeatable and the staff friendly. I will stay there time and time again.

The Hotel was excellent. Friendly staff who made sure that you were ok. They warned us about a transport strike about which we knew nothing and made sure we could cope. Finding the Hotel is absolutely no problem if you follow their instructions. Breakfast was excellent, our room the Suite was superb - luxury. Very quiet except for (during the day) the gentle sound of the Gondolas passing under our balcony overlooking the canal - with the occasional musical serenade. The Hotel has no pretentious facade to it. Simply a door in a very narrow dark long (but well lit) alley. No one would imagine this super hotel was lurking within. Ring the door bell and (24 hour reception) the door is opened and Harry Potter like you enter this super hotel.

Finding the hotel is a little on the tricky side - the best landmark was the Foot Locker store opposite the alleyway. Great location in terms of getting to main sites of Venice in a couple of days. Hotel itself was a pleasant hideaway at the end of the day. Staff were friendly and helpful, with great local recommendations for places to eat and money saving tips for Venice.

We were not in the main building, the second house is two streets from the Hotel Residenza Ca' San Marco what is also nice but noisy because of a bar next to the hotel. Make sure your room is in the main house.

They e-mailed us very good directions, but we walked right past it anyway (because it was not yet dark enough for the lantern over the front door to be lit, and that's the landmark). We were in the annex around the corner, but the breakfast room is there so it was actually more convenient that way. Staff member offered to help haul our luggage up the 46 steps to our fourth-floor room. The second "loft" level inside room 106 was a pleasant surprise; this room is great for a couple with children, or two couples sharing a room. Very clean. Nice bathroom. Good breakfast. And you can't beat the location, halfway between San Marco and the Rialto bridge.

We had a lovely stay at the Hotel Residenza Ca' San Marco. Venice is expensive so I was pleased with the quality and location of this hotel in relation to other things we had seen. The breakfast was nothing special. I think they would be better off adding some cold meats and cheeses. If you dont eat cereal there is not much else on offer. The room was clean and the location was perfect. It is a little tricky to find to start with and we struggle to find a friendly Venician to help us. But we found it in the end. If you are wanting something compact but very centrally located, you can not go past the Hotel Residenza Ca' San Marco. I would stay again if I returned.
