This was my second trip to Venice in conjunction with a cruise and I will be back. The next time I come I will stay at this hotel again. The location, rooms and access to transportation are great. The hotel desk staff were excellent and very friendly. They were very knowledgeable and extremely helpful with directions and suggestions. Nicolette was truly a pleasure to work with at the desk and she always had a smile and a greeting waiting for us as well. I wish all of my hotel stays were this pleasant.

Location is on the edge of Piazza Roma. Great location for catching the ship. A short walk from the main station. Staff excellent. No lift but 2 floors of rooms. They helped carry some bags up the stairs. We booked a junior suite - it was VERY big. Close to many restaurants. Across the road was the People Mover to take you to the cruise ships. Exactly what we wanted. Would highly recommend this hotel for someone going on a cruise. Not too far to walk to the tourist sights either.

The hotel location is excellent if your trip involves a cruise, as the cruise lines operate a free bus to/from the pier and the Piazzale Roma. Our room was small but very clean. The staff was friendly and helpful. Continental Breakfast was good. Downside is that the hotel is built around a car-park and so, the immediate outside area is not very attractive.

The staff was very friendly and most helpful in every way. We needed a cab at 4:30am in order to reach the airport to go through security and catch an early morning flight. The staff took care of the arrangements and the cab was waiting at the door at 4:30am.

The hotel is very well located just at Piazza Roma where all taxis and buses arrive and depart and about 300 hundred meters from the Venezia Santa Lucia railway station. Also across Piazza Roma are the stops for different vaporetto routes. The hotel is very small but clean with very nice and helpful attendants. The rooms are small, the bathrooms are tiny as usual in most europeans cities. The breakfast is fresh and abundant enough for a good start of an active day around Venice.

We used the Ca' Doge for only a single night before joining a cruise - we chose the hotel because of its location being just a few metres from where the airport coaches arrived -and where the cruise ship coach transfers depart. The hotel was perfect for this purpose, but probably a little far from the main sights for a longer stay in Venice. Our bedroom and indeed bathroom were very well furnished and almost astonishingly large for Italy. The sound insulation was of a very high standard - although our room faced onto the Piazalle Roma we were not disturbed by early morning traffic noise. We arrived at midnight and after the hotel had closed, but as we were given very clear instructions how to obtain entry this was not a problem. The only disappointment was breakfast which was lacking in variety - no meats or cheeses etc - not a problem for one night, but perhaps more of an issue for a longer stay. Overall the hotel met our needs perfectly and we would use again for the same purpose. The hotel seemed quite expensive when booking - but felt like very good value for money when we alighted the airport coach just before midnight.

Stayed for 2 days in this hotel. One before taking a cruise, and one night after the cruise. Right in front of bus terminal and close to train station. No need to carry the luggage over the many bridges of Venice. Easy to walk everywhere including the cruise ship terminal. The staff were friendly. The room was ready before check in time upon arrival and on the day we came back from the cruise they let us store our luggage and then took it to our room while we visited Venice. The small breakfast room was efficient. Not a large selection of food but nonetheless it was nice. Our room was facing the busy street in Piazzela Roma but with the windows close there was hardly any noise and at night it was extremely quite. The room was ok in size and the bathroom was pretty big and very clean. The mirrors behind our bed needed to be changed, but that was the only cosmetic change the room needed. Overall it was a small but efficient hotel, extremely well located for people taking a cruise out of Venice or anyone not wanting to carry their luggage over lots of bridges. One tip, we found the food in the Cannaregio area to be cheaper than other areas of Venice.

We arrived at the hotel way before check-in and the staff was EXTREMELY accomodating and helpful. (Thank you to them!) We were also upgraded to a GORGEOUS suite - nicest, largest room I have ever had in Europe. The location was extremely convenient to the bus terminal, but a little noisy for that same reason and a little further from the Grande Canal and tourist sites. Nevertheless, I would definitely stay here again.

We stayed 3 nights and would recommend this hotel. It was very handy for cabs, the bus to the airport, and the train station. The water "bus" was across the square, for accessing The Grand Canal. There is no lift but it only goes to the 2nd floor. Our luggage was taken up and brought down for us. The staff were very helpful but the pet birds need to stay in their cage.

THE STAFF WAS MOST ACCOMODATING AND THEY DID UPGRADE OUR ROOM AFTER WE COMPLAINED. THE HOTEL HAS DRAWBACKS: 1) THE NEIGHBORHOOD IS SOMEWHAT LOW-LEVEL AND INCONVENIENT IF YOU WANT EASY AND REASONABLY QUICK ACCESS TO VENICE AS A TOURIST; 2) THERE IS NO ELEVATOR, SO THE YOUG LADY AT RECEPTION HAD TO HELP HAUL OUR LUGGAGE UP NARROW STAIRCASES TO THIRD FLOOR (AMERICAN) AND THEN DOWN ON CHECKOUT; 3) THE PICTURES OF THE FRONT OF THE HOTEL MASKED THE RUNDOWN CONDITION OF THE ENTRY, AND THE NEIGHBORHOOD. HOWEVER, THE HOTEL HAD SOME PLUSES FOR OUR PARTICULAR NEEDS: IT WAS LOCATED ONLY A FEW STEPS FROM THE HERTZ RENTAL AGENCY WHERE WE HAD TO REURN OUR AUTO AND ONLY A TWO MINUTE TAXI RIDE TO THE CRUISE SHIP PORT -- AGAIN, THE YOUNG LADY AT THE DESK WAS MOST HELPFUL IN ASSISTING OUT TAKING MUCH LUGGAGE TO THE TAXI STAND ABOUT FIFTY YARDS AWAY (TAXIS AREN'T ALLOWED TO PICK-UP IN FRONT OF THE HOTEL. ALL IN ALL, I WOULD NOT RECOMMEND TO ANYONE UNLESS THEY HAVE SIMILIAR LOGISTIC NEEDS, ALTHOUGH THERE APPEARED TO BE A COUPLE OF OTHER HOTERLS IN THIS AREA THAT WERE NICER.

This Hotel is located at a very covenience place, from both Boat-stop and access from town. The hotel was just in front of the boat-stop, so this is located just a biside of the bus station(P.L.ROMA) If you have a plane departing early in the morning, this is the best Hotel to chose.

Ca Doge is right next to the Piazzale Roma, so it is a 50 metre walk to the bus to the airport, or the ferries on the Grande Canale. It is a maximum of 40 minutes strolling to reach the Rialto bridge, and is close to the Frari church and Rocco Scuola. The rooms are very well sound proofed against the outside - there is no car noise, or church bells ringing, however if people were talking outside your room, they were audible. Fortunately they didn't while we were asleep. There is no lift, but someone carried our bags upstairs for us. There was a heavy fog the day we flew out, and Vanessa was so helpful - ringing the airport and airlines and checking through the day for us (as well as keeping our bags for us until 4.00pm) - she left a message for us after she went off duty that the planes were not cancelled.

Location at taxi & bus terminal offset by great convenience to airport transportation, and main vaporetti(water bus)station. Soundproof claim is valid. Reception very helpful/accommodating. Jr. Suites quite spacious, and excellent bathroom. Not a romantic location, but strongly recommended in all other respects, including value. Ideal if arrival via auto or taxi right to front door. & with contiguous parking available. 7 times in Venice; this hotel really makes sense.

We arrived very late as the public transport takes a long time from the airport, but the Hotel had made arrangements for us to gain access and left a note for us, the next day they looked after our luggage while we went sightseeing, they were very freindly, the room was beautiful, breakfast was continental, and the hotel was quite close to the cruise port, but a word of warning, pay 90euro's and get a private taxi from the airport and get a taxi from the hotel to the cruise port, Venice is lovely but when they tell you its a 5 minute walk they really mean a half hour trek.

The employees were very friendly and helpful. It made our stay even more enjoyable. The room was nice and very clean. We had a problem with the door when we left (we left at 4:30 a.m. and we couldn't get the automatic door to close). I have written to them to see if the man in the garage phoned them and they haven't replied. I would like to know that everything was okay. Thank you.

A fine hotel for the price. Big rooms by Italian standards. Nice bathroom. Quiet. It is right on the P. Roma where the busses arrive from the airport. Take the Vaporreto from the train station to P. Roma so you don't have to drag your bags over three bridges with stairs! A great location because you can walk or water taxi to anywhere in Venice. Very friendly staff. Small public area, good breakfast. The best hotel we stayed in during our trip to Italy!

We loved this hotel and would recommend to anyone. Like previous reviews we also booked because Ca Doge is close to the Marittima cruise port, unfortunately the bridge over the railway lines is closed for security, so walking to the port is just a little more difficult. The breakfast was much more than we were expecting, the coffee excellent and the assortment of breakfast items numerous. We loved walking down the sidewalk below street level to the convergence of canals just down the block with so much activity! Exploring the neighborhoods was incredibly rewarding. The staff at Ca Doge was incredible, great recommendations, terrific rooms, and very clean, we felt like royalty. It's nice to be out of the hustle bustle of St. Marks and to feel like you own part of the hidden city. We loved hanging out our window in the morning and watching the traffic coming onto the island and the italian gestures. We kept our windows open most of the time for the breeze and activity of Piazzale Roma, but closing the window insulated all the noise. It was great to take the bus from the airport and to be let off about 50 feet from the door of the hotel!

GREAT place to stay in Venice if you're planning to go on a cruise the next day. It sits right on the Piazzale Roma, where the shuttle buses to the Port and the Airport are found. Of course, being right on the Piazzale Roma, you have the noise of the traffic, but it's quite muffled by the excellent soundproofed windows. Not the most picturesque area of Venice, but the touristy spots are but moments away. The room was very big (Junior Suite - 188 Euro ), clean, with a surprisingly large bathroom. The shower water pressure was a tad weak, but that was the only failing of this place. The staff was very helpful in showing us how to get around the city. Breakfast was great, with fresh pastries, coffee, fruit, and cheeses.

Ubicación excelente. El hotel está en Piazzale Roma, al lado de la estación de autobuses para el aeropuerto y de la estación central de vaporettos, por lo tanto es muy cómodo tanto si se llega en avión como en tren a Venecia. Excellent room but adjoining building site (owned by this hotel) was not mentioned. OK for a couple of days but really should tell people of the disturbance and poor asthetics in Venice with a Crane and Concrete lorries all around. Excellent english receptionist but poor Italian manager. No good for anyone with disabilities as there are steep stairs to all rooms and a cramped public area without any space for luggage when checking in. Expensive for what is provided. Excellent if arriving by car and good point for the Bus from the airport. Vaporetto nearbt, so good location.

We were very happy with our stay at Ca' Doge. The staff were friendly and helpful, both in assisting us in our stay at the hotel, and in our "touristing" and eating 'round Venice. The room was of a reasonable size, quiet and well-serviced. Our rooms' airconditioning was not functioning during our stay but this did not greatly inconvenience us - we only realised this on the last night of our stay, so the staff were unable to fix it before we left. Ca' Doge was a pleasant place to stay, easy to find, and very conveniently located for both travelling from St Lucia train station and traipsing around Venice during the day. We would definitely consider staying there, if in Venice again.

A very well located hotel for those coming in to the bus station (for airport arrivals for example). You will see the Ca' Doge on the right as your bus enters the turn around. A good value for Venice, well located and well staffed with at least one native English speaking staff member. The breakfast was very good and the location worked well for us as we came in via bus and left out of the train station, about 10 minutes walk (caution to those with lots of luggage, there are two bridges with lots of steps). To be expanded soon to increase the number of rooms. Also has car parking due to its location, a rarity.

This is the 2nd time we have stayed at this hotel. It is in easy walking distance of the Water Bus and bus station is opposite. There are a few bars and shops across the road where the service is good and relaxing. The cleanliness of the hotel is first rate and the staff are friendly, very helpful, and extremely nice. Nothing is too much trouble for them. Competent and professional. Breakfast is very basic, but all food is fresh and you can have as much as you want!
