Locanda del Bel Sorriso - Villa Bertagnolli Guest House - Mattarello, Trento

A very beautiful place. An ancient villa, adapted as a hotel with very good taste. The food, in the restaurant was excellent. And so was the wine. Internet connection is bad. Although far from the city (Trento) and even from the town (Matarello) the place is so picturesque that is worthy just staying around.

Poor breakfast. The welcoming was hard since the girl at the "reception" knew about 3 words in English. Not a standard hotel, a very interesting and special place. Italian authentic place. Dinner was good.

Very unusual, pittoresque location, something for individualists. Remains of old villa with enchanted courtyard. Romantic terrace under vine tendrils and excellent cuisine. Bird cages and lots of bric-a-brac. Would have been highly recommendable, had we got any of the rooms pictured in their broschure. However, the room we got was cramped, under the roof and full of furniture worn with use, like in a youth hostel. This room was not worth the money and very disappointing. In contrast to the delicious dinner, the breakfast, esp. tea and coffee, was awful.

Very good place, very fassinating location and building. But the personnel is not kind as needed. Anyway, is a good place to stay.

Nice place!

A lovely location and a beautiful property. Unfortunatley a wedding party seemed to have booked the best rooms. We were given an attic room (OK/funky -not expected). Never did see what else was avaivable. Staff was wonderful with welcoming beer and treats (they carried our luggage up several flights of stairs). Next time will get more details on what rooms are available.

Our only real complaint about this place is that it is EXTREMELY difficult to find. We had a map and still had to stop 3 times for directions. Then we got there very late and couldn't find a way past the gate. Very difficult time getting in (probably due to our late arrival). Facility itself is nice, clean and interesting. The rooms were exactly as promised. It definitely met our standards.
