After searching a myriad of half baked characterless motor Inns & random hotels, I stumbled upon some rave reviews of the Admiral, and was drawn in like a Pony to water. From the moment of arrival to the leaving, I must say in my 34yrs of existence, this was a 'highlight week' of my working life. Robert & his partner Jennifer, go out of their way to make each and every guest feel special and the superbly reappointed Victorian mansion only adds to the ambiance & 'home away from home' feeling. Indeed the calibre of guests reflected (for me anyway!) the genuine desire for the Admiral to offer that something 'a little different', which in reality is a whole lot different to the indifference that so many 'chain hotel & motels' serve up. The point of working/travelling in my opinion is to meet new people in a non-invasive way that serves as a catalyst for the duration of your stay. Understandably, this may not be everyone's cup of tea, however if your after a 'memorable' hotel experience, then I believe this is the place for you! I was admiring of the fact that everyone respected each others space & indeed went out of their way to 'tiptoe' around the 'old girl' of an evening. The shared bathroom was a preconceived minor concern, however the cleanliness and 'availability' of the numerous bathrooms on offer actually impressed me more than the bathroom at the Meriton's 5 star Hotel. Indeed, fling your 'shared bathroom' trivialities into the nether regions of space, because it just isn't an issue!!! The calibre & expertise of the cleaning staff is second to none, and Robs's Dry sense of humor will ensure that the drought stays... indefinitely!!! Finally, (and if you've read this far and haven't booked....:)) thankyou for taking the time to read this far. This is easily the longest review I've ever written of a Hotel, however I believe strongly in giving back to those who treat you with a genuine sense of care and who are not just in it to take your mone
