Casa Astarita Guesthouse is a real jewel, located in the very heart of Sorrento. This place took shape from an idea of the Astarita sisters, who, for many generations have been cultivating the art of friendly hospitality and it was created by the fantasy and the good taste for traditions as well as for innovation, of the well-known interior designer, Mr. Marco De Luca. The above-said definitely makes Casa Astarita the ideal solution for those wishing to match good taste, comfort and warm hospitality. Built in the family palace of the 18th Century, this Guesthouse still bears the atmosphere of the period, in which the house was built: a mixture of elegance and simplicity. It is a prefect combination between antique and modern style, where you can admire family furniture pieces, decorated 18th-Century majolicas, together with the harmonic intertwining of arches and vaults. The air-conditioned public areas are not that bad either. What is most striking, is the wonderful sensation of feeling at home, which is why Casa Astarita invites guests to bring the whole family.

Guests have access to complimentary wired and wireless high-speed Internet access.

Breakfast at Inn Casa Astarita

Particularly interesting is a share-parlour, where all guests can have free access to the newspaper and periodical library, tasting the delicious breakfasts prepared by Mrs. Annamaria (you just cannot miss the home-made cakes and fruit-jams) or maybe sipping the traditional “granma lemon liquor” in front of the fireplace, at night.

We thoroughly enjoyed this cozy guesthouse on the main central street of Sorrento. We had a super clean and sweet room with majolica tile floors. Easy to get to all sights and restaurants and the small balcony was great for people watching. The double set of balcony doors did much to diminish outside noise. Very friendly staff and a fine European breakfast in the common room. We're happy to recommend this place to other travelers.

I can't imagine it is possible to beat this hotel for value. Wonderful location in the heart of the bustling shopping area of Sorrento and a short walk to everything. We had our 2yo son with us and there was a cot waiting for us on arrival and the lady at reception was lovely, accommodating and helpful with all our requests. the facilities inside the hotel were excellent. the only slight issue was the noise from other parts of the hotel was very noticeable and resonated into our room. air-conditioned, free internet... even an iphone charging station in our room. I can't recommend this place highly enough.

We loved Casa Astarita! Our stay was very nice and the staff extrenely friendly. Very well located and easy to find (around 6-7 blocks from the train station, close to the port and on the main street). Breakfast was excellent, with a communal table where you really feel treated like one of the family by the hosts. The breakfast is delicious, and you must try the chocolate cake and cookies! The fridge in the kitchen is open at all times for water, juices, and yogurts for all guests - not like in a typical hotel. We would definitely go back and recommend it. quite convenient to visit the Amalfi coast and Capri since Sorrento has a lot of activity and life.

We loved this B & B. It was well maintained, decorated charmingly and was very clean. We had a large room with a double bed and a large bathroom. It was in a good location and was fairly priced. Breakfast was delicious. Don't be fooled by the entrance and stairs- this place is great!

A lovely balance between privacy and friendliness, with lovely interactions with both the staff and the other guests. An open invitation to make coffee or take a juice from the fridge at any time was a lovely touch, and it was possible to bring food to eat there rather than going out all the time. Having said that, the large restaurant next door, with a lovely Mediterranean garden, though not cheap, provided one of the most memorable meals of our trip with a great variety of vegetable dishes (we are vegetarian) and very attentive service.

My husband and I visited Rome, Sorrento, Florence and Venice for our 40th wedding anniversary. We stayed at 4-star hotels everywhere else. The warmest and most welcoming place we stayed was the Casa Astarita in Sorrento. The staff, food, location and price are unbeatable. In general, the feeling was quite simply more safe, welcoming and like coming home. We are most grateful and wish we could have stayed longer and hope to go back one day.

Staff helpful; Stephana excellent; bathroom inadequate for a proper shower. My second time to Sorento. Would not hesitate to recommend Casa Astarita, or, La Bussola in Amalfi (sorry I deleted your previous survey).

Lovely spacious and colourful rooms, good breakfast and a very central location made for a very enjoyable stay. Good value for money and it was noticeable that the rate charged to Venere bookings was considerably less than the rack rate charged to other customers. Would definitely stay there again.

This was the nicest B&B we have ever stayed at. The six distinctly decorated rooms were charming, spotlessly clean, and delightfully pleasing, each one uniquely named with its own personality. The two staff we met were very friendly and helpful, with Adelaide going well beyond her responsibilities to provide excellent service. She was sweet, warm and knowledgeable, assisting us in every possible way. Returning to Casa Astarita and the end of the day totally felt like "coming home". Thank you Adelaide, Anna and Annamarie. !!

Great place to stay, but can be a bit noisy. Rooms are spacious, well presented and clean. Breakfast is very good. Not a lot of english spoken but can communicate adequately. Above a bar and restaurant which can be a little noisy and on main street, but overall very good accomodation and would return

A charming B&B, was just a shame about the ni=oise, our room was one the main drag and I needed airplugs to sleep. They really should invest in some form of double-glazing/soundproofing and it would have been perfect. The place is beautiful however, teh staff very friendly and the morning coffee fantastic!

We thoroughly enjoyed our stay at the Casa Astarita. Our only recommendation would be to get all the bedroom doors oiled as we were awoken quite a few times by creaking doors! The only clientele I don't think the B&B would cater for would be the disabled as there are a few steps to climb to get into the property.

We had a fantastic stay at the Casa Astarita. We were welcomed by the owner (even though we arrived later than announced), could choose between several rooms. Clean, quiet, excellent breakfast. Really nothing to complain about.Would higly recommend it to anyone travelling to Sorrento!

Our main difficult was getting access to Casa Astarita the day we arrived. This took about 15 minutes. After traveling for a day you just want to get to your room and settle in.

We had a great couple of night at this B&B. The room and the communal areas were decorated very nicely and the free juice, biscuits and internet were very much appreciated. There was nobody there when we arrived and generally, no staff were around after late morning, which given the time of year, was understandable. When there was somebody there, they were very friendly and helpful. The location was very convenient, and there is also a good restaurant next door. I'd happily stay here again

Casa Astarita is a beautiful place - very nicely decorated. It is located on the main shopping street. Our room had a balcony that overlooked Corso Italia, which was great, and with the glass dorrs closed it was perfectly quiet and private. The breakfast is really good and we met some nice people staying there at the same time. I think other reviewers commented that there was no staff to greet them when they arrived and the same happened to us. We had to wait about 30 minutes or so. The owner or staffperson that did eventually show us in was very apologetic and explained that he was next door at the shop with the same name, Casa Astarita Living, which we didn't see somehow. If you are asked to submit a time of arrival to Venere.com, you should be more specific than we were - we simply said mid-day. And check the store if no one is around. Otherwise, it is a lovely place in a great location. We walked everywhere, including the marina and train station.

We had a great 3 night stay at Casa Astarita. There was some confusion when we arrived at the property as the owner was not there and the person responsible gave our room to someone else. They were apologetic and had to shift us to their sister Hotel Mignon for 1 night stay. Hotel Mignon was just a block away with same facilities. Anna Marie arrived in the morning to help us transfer next day. She was very helpful. The B&B is in a prime central location, decorated beautifully and has large rooms. It was a very homely environment as everyone had breakfast together on one table by the fireplace. The kitchen was open to guests all day providing free mineral water bottles, biscotti and limoncella. The free internet really helped us. We really enjoyed staying at Casa Astarita.

It was a pleasure staying at the Casa Astarita. Alfonso was a great help, as we do not know Italian. We had some minor trouble checking in late the evening of arrival; it was hard to find the entry, the welcome note was not obvious, and the person who helped us was unfamiliar with the rooms, but we eventually were checked in OK. Internet access is a super feature.

Our time at Casa Astarita was wonderful -- it is perfectly charming, convenient to everything in town and to the train/bus station, and the staff was wonderful and helpful -- they all consistently went above and beyond the call of duty! The coffee at breakfast was some of the best we'd ever tasted, and it was nice to be able to use a computer with high-speed internet access. We would definitely stay there again!

Wonderful find - stylish rooms, very central and yet peaceful. We very much liked the touch of the flask of limoncello available for a late night drink! Sorrento is an excellent base for Pompei and Herculaneum and the Amalfi coast - this is our third visit and it's good to have found such an excellent value place to stay.

We were welcomed by a lovely woman who came running back from her shopping to show us around. We were given a choice of rooms and both were impeccable and spotless. There was beautiful antique furniture and the room was tastefully done. There was a tv in the room, comfortable bed, peaceful house and near it all. Access was given to a kitchen with juices, milks, bottles of water, tea, coffee etc all included in the price. Breakfast was fabulous, jams, breads, cereals, juices: different from the usual italian sweet breads. Lovely lovely place. Wish we could have transported it everywhere we went.
