This hotel is clean, secure, peaceful, and comfortable. My experience was reduced however because I had booked a 'superior room' and was down-graded to a 'standard room' without being informed by the hotel. While they did charge less per night, I probably would have gone elsewhere to stay, since 'standard' was not what I was looking for. On the other hand, at $160/night the value was OK. The hotel staff were friendly but communicating in English is a problem at this place. The cook was excellent if you stay for supper, but breakfasts were rather spartan to say the least. The hotel was quiet but is outside of town, so that you really have to take a taxi to go into town. If you are just taking tours this does not matter because the bus will come to the hotel. The superior rooms really were 'superior, so if you can book one, it is worth the price.

We had the separate rooms at this lodge and enjoyed our stay. It is very peaceful and quiet. I was concerned it was a little out of town but after visiting San Pedro, I was glad it was out of town and away from all the people! A unique place to stay. They organised day tours for us as well which were the highlight of our trip.

Solar energy lighting and solar-heated water are used, and a range of natural materials enhances the property's back-to-nature emphasis.Accommodations have private bathrooms with showers and hair dryers.
