The breakfast and the service for breakfast was amazing, both mornings we had very nice and helpful service. Other than that the rest of the staff acted as though we interrupting their day. The location is terrible for tourist, it's to far from everything. I would not recommend this place unless it was for a casual business stay.

It is nice hotel. But not 4 stars. The rooms are old and small. To go to the beach you have to cross the street. Staff is very competent and speaks english!!!!

The best part of our stay at the Mediterranea was the staff, especially Giovanni and Ciro. These gentlemen were very polite, friendly and made our free breakfasts and our pricey dinners well worth it. The women (and the occasional men) that worked the front desk were very helpful when it came to sight-seeing and the amenities that the hotel offered. When the website says that they are bi-lingual, what they actually mean is that they are multi-lingual! I heard English, Spanish, Italian, German and French. While I can't quite comment on the quietness of the rooms (we had the whole 4th floor to ourselves), I can comment on the surroundings. It is at the far end of Salerno so it's not nearly as busy or as loud of some of the other hotels. While this is nice, you may want to rethink it if you want something closer to old downtown, the free beaches and fun restaurants. The busses stopped at the tobacco shop down the street so that was convenient. While staying there, there seemed to be a number of business travelers and the occasional family. The beds were extremely comfortable but if you use a hair dryer, you may want to bring your own! Theirs is a different breed of dryer I have never seen before. All in all, a good stay, happy with the service and staff and would return again. However, be advised, they were beginning some construction as we were leaving...

We stay one day in the Hotel, and we had a lunch, based on fish special plates. I appreciate the quality of the seafood and the cooking. Very good to reach Pompei archeological site the next day.

Travelling with partner. General experience good, some services were excellent. Breakfast poor as eggs and bacon not kept hot for all guests to enjoy. One day the laundry service was excellent, after that our laundry was not put in on time and they rang to say they could not get it back to us until we were leaving without explanation.

this hotel was in need of some maintainance, but the biggest drawback was the location. it was a good half-hour bus/taxi ride to the center of town and train station

Ideally located right across from the beach, but 20 euros each to access the beach is outrageous. The hotel has a great restaurant for dinner and breakfast with a great variety of food.

L'aria condizionata nella stanza era molto lenta nel funzionamento; la stanza era troppo calda. Colazione abbondante e ben servita. Air conditioning slow. Good breakfast!

Stayed in July 08 Booked a triple room, but got only a double room with pillows and towels for two. Only two beds (small Queen size). OK for two, but do not book if you are 3 adults/teens in the same room. Lots of little ants on the railings in the outdoor breakfast room. Roof terrace not open. Tried the resturant one night. Very god Risotto.

The air conditioning in our room did not work, which was not a huge deal since it did cool down at night, but the door that we opened to let in air did not have a screen, which meant that several bugs flocked into our room. I left with several bites.

There should be an explanation concerning direction to the hotel on the booking / hotlel's website, i.e. bus numbers, taxi fee from central station to hotel, etc.
