The Hotel was like staying at Boarding School with Bathroom sink inside bedroom and toilet and shower in tiny cubicle with noisy sliding door and even noisier extractor fan whenever the light swich went on. The reception was not on hand when we arrived at 5:00pm and had to ring bell and go looking for member of staff who then checked us in and took us the wrong way!! It is like a rabbits warren, we got there eventually and the view of river was pleasant, watch the windows with small children as no restrictors! The mains socket are something from the Victorian era but there is new sockets by the tv, had to get new batteries for the remote control! The bed was comfortable and tea/coffee facilities ok. Food in the restaurant was appalling, we had Sirloin steak medium rare that was impossible to eat and a pigion breast which needed a steak knife to cut, tough and inedible meat, stick to something like soup or pasta. Breakfast was continental with the smallest possible plates they could offer, so one slice of salami and Presunto later we could not butter our toast as no room, do not eat the crossants as old, hard and great way to have indigestion, tea was fine apart from the corn flakes floating inside the milk that was served at the table. The Staff were polite to a point and then became cycnical, did not accepted criticism very well and we left with the knowledge that we would never ever return.
