The Residenza A is a fine hotel in a once chic area of Rome. The via Veneto was immortalised in the classic 60`s film La Dolce Vita. The street has lost its apeal to the rich and famous but is still adorned by some very swish hotels and eateries. On arriving at the somewhat hidden building front entrance we were slightly concerned, it doesn’t look like a four star entrance. We were directed to the first floor by the scary looking building superintendant and were confronted by a rather impresive front door. As we entered the true pedigree of the hotel became apparent. I say hotel, but with only 7 rooms it has a feel of a high class guest house. The receptionist was very helpful and showed us to the room and pointed out the facilities. The whole hotel has stylish feel, very modern and totally spotless. The original art that adornes the walls only adds to the ambience. The room was small but well laid out, the computer proved very useful; I was able to check my email, send emails containing photos of the days sightseeing and listen to the BBC radio on the internet. I also took a USB card with some mp3s to listen to. We had breakfast in the room which was convienient but limited and went downstairs to the connected restaurant for a more robust `American` breakfast. We ate out on the Via Veneto which as I said has lost its fashion status but not its high prices. Up the street and right turn to a very nice trendy but reasonably priced Pizzaria - San Marco. The attached restaurant, Café Strega, was pretty good, the Tiramasu was to die for. On the whole the hotel met all of our needs, it is fairly centrally located, although the walk back from the Vatican at the end of the day was taxing. I would recommend the hotel for the Techy tourist and business traveller.

We enjoyed our time in Rome a lot. People in the residence were kind, helpful, correct and extr. friendly. We could only suggest the same for our friends and are looking for similar boutique hotels in our stay in other italian cities

Vey small hotel, about 6 rooms. We had the largest, called XXL. Room faced on a courtyard, so no views, but that made it quieter. Excellent breakfast downstairs in a cafe. Free internet service in room. I loved the very modern decor. Very pleasant staff. I would definitely stay here again.

The rooms are nice - modern and spacious with a great bathroom. Location was excellent on the Via Veneto. But it's really a hotel designed for businessmen - the services provided by the front desk are limited. And one of the people manning the front desk knew little about places to go (she was new to Rome).
