Merulana Inn - Rome

It was a pleasant stay for us. The room & the bathroom is very clean and in a very good condition with amenities and nicely decor. The surrounding is very peaceful. Hospitality was great with a wonderful petite continental breakfast. Really enjoyed our stay here & will def go back here.

Breakfast: would be nice to have a variety of possibilities, i.e. bread, cheese, ham ... (iso each day the same choices) Douche: in case of late departure it would be an asset to be able to take a shower prior to leaving. Though we loved the stay at Merulana. regards

Nice guesthouse, very clean and very close to the station.I didn't appreciate only the breakfast.

The lack of staff on arrival is offputting especially when trying to access the hotel after 2pm. However once inside the room is good with everything you need. The bathroom was expecially good It would have been nicer if the coffee/tea was stocked up after every use - we only had coffee twice in 5 days and agin because of the lack of staff on site there was nothing we could do about it. Location wise the hotel is perfect for most of the main sites to the east of the river and is relatively quiet at night. Overall I enjoyed my stay at the Merulana and would stay there again if I go back to Rome.

No One on duty at time or arival. Took over an hour to get someone to open the door. No reception! Breakfast first morning, stale bread, no rolls, cold scrambled eggs, small selection. Second morning....breakfast room very small and full. Waited over an hour for breakfast...finally gave up and purchased breakfast at a cafe!

Personally, I thought the overall experience was excellent. The only confusion might be in getting access to the room as you would need to have a mobile to call the number shown (which perhaps some tourists wouldn't). However, I did and the Merulana Inn lived up to expectations and I would have no hesitation in recommending it to others. PS - go to the Colosseum and the Catacombs (outside town on the Appian Way) - both brilliant!

Second stay at this small hotel. Good quad for family (really two rooms). Price high - would come more often/stay longer if it were cheaper! Rooms at back v quiet, only buzz from electrics disturbing us. Breakfast could be much better for same cost to hotel. Big problem was getting in late at night, as it is unstaffed. Phone numbers only INSIDE building, outside 4th floor entrance, and you need to persist. Someone answered one of the lines and told me it was wrong hotel. Then someone else answered from same hotel and let me in remotely!!
