This too small room is not on the internet : only 1 persons bed and a small table to whrite at ,1 chair, no closet, no night lamp, no water, the small tv not working, the wires of electricity in a holl in the wall. The owner was kind enough to let me stay 4 times in a bigger rome each night there was one free : these are nicely decorated and ok .I booked for a week. The breakfast was very nice in a cafe around the corner. So this bed&breakfast was ok for a younger couple but not for a traveller alone.

I was 4 days in Rome and I stayed in "When in Rome". The valoration is perfect: - The responsible for he hostel, Emi, is very competent and very helpfull. He indicated me about the main interests in city, how to arrive, restaurants,... - The zone is very close of main monuments and nearby main transports. You can walk to Coliseo, Trevi... In general, a good experience.

Great hotel! I stayed with two friends a couple of weeks ago and we had an amazing experience there! The receptionist from the hotel was really nice to us at all times. The rooms are really spacious and clean, and trhe relationship beetween price and quality is perfect! The most remarkable aspect in this hotel was the fact that you had a netbook available at all time with internet connection, that you could also take to your room and use it for as long as you want! Location is perfect because it´s really close to Termini station, and you can walk to every monument or tourist attraction. I strongly reccomend When in Rome, specially for groups of friends that are looking for good and cheap accomodation!

when in rome was a cool experience, the room was as advertised, just a single with shared bathroom but clean and quiet. the bathroom was spotless and I never had to wait to take a shower. the b&b is on the 5th. floor of a block near the main station and it's more or less 20-30 minutes on foot to the centre of rome, colosseum etc. i'll be returning to rome in september with friends and we will book with when in rome; the other rooms they have with private balcony etc. looked great. i'm happy to recommend when in rome very highly :-)

What we liked the most for that hostal was that we had a balcony where we could drink our apéritif (after a long and busy day in the city) before going back to a good restaurant that isn't necessarely far away.(check restaurant "il molo" via Castelfidardo)

When In Rome is a new, modern hostel. Its different themed rooms are a great idea! We stayed in South America and it was lovely. The room was nice and big and we had a balcony where we could sit out at night and watch the sun go down. The bathrooms were always clean and tidy when we used them and the man at the reception was very friendly and accomodating. We really enjoyed this experience and would definately stay here again.

When In Rome was nothing outrageously special, nor was it sketchy or off-putting in any way -- just a simple, no-frills room for the night, which is exactly what my husband and I wanted. The rooms were clean and non-smoking, the beds were comfortable, and the bathrooms were fine. Wi-fi access, air conditioning, breakfast vouchers, and a personal safe are all included in the price of the room. It's located a few short blocks from the train station, which makes it very easy to use public transportation to get anywhere in Rome. Apparently some people think the neighborhood around the station is unsafe, but I never felt that -- during the day it just felt like any other neighborhood, and there were always people around at night. One of the few downsides was that we would have liked to leave our bags at the hotel on our last day in Rome and pick them up late that night before going to the airport, but since there is nobody at the desk after 5:00 pm, we didn't want to leave them unattended and had to pay to leave them somewhere else. All in all, I would definitely recommend this hotel as a cheap, simple place to stay.

We stayed in Rome for three nights after a cruise and When in Rome was a perfect place near Termini for us to stay as we had already visited most of the major sites on a previous trip. We used the hotel as a base to explore some of the churches and relics south of the hotel. The staff were great. We used the fridge to store cold drinks, yogurt, and fruit. They also allowed us to print our boarding pass at their desk. We loved the place and the people there and will definitely return. Just be aware that there are a lot of stairs if the lift breaks. Also, if their internet doesn't work with your laptop, there were other open networks in the neighborhood to use. We just sat out on the balcony all night. It was very delightful. It was an excellent value.

Sconsigliato.

The africa room is spacious for 1 pax, very new and clean with aircon and LCD satellite TV. Towels are provided too and they clean the room daily. But for 2 persons may be a bit small. The 2 shared bathrooms are kept clean, so no complaints. However the receptionist is usually not around so may be inconvenient if you have questions for him or if u forget to bring your b&b keys with u and find that the door is locked. The "kitchen" is minute, quite dirty and not usable. I think the b&b can consider providing coffee & tea making facilities inside the room and forget about the "kitchen". It's also noisy when u open the door with the bunch of keys given, especially at night. Maybe should change to card access. I was given the wrong breakfast voucher for sunday, the cafe was closed so I didn't get my free breakfast :( The area around the b&b is quite good with cafes, restaurants and convenient stores and it's only a 3min walk to the Termini. All in all, it's still a decent budget place to stay (if u hav 2 pax to share the cost).

The hotel is very convenient to the train station and easy to find. It is also pretty convenient to most of the Rome sites. We used the metro a few times just to ease our tired feet and save time, but most things were walkable. The people managing the desk were pretty helpful and gave us a map to use that helped out a lot. Our room was not ensuite, but we didn't have any trouble getting in to use the 2 shared bathrooms. The bathrooms have a bit of mold/mildew problem above the shower, but was very clean other than that. The biggest downfall was the noise from out in the street. We were right next to a street with a market. The walls are very thin I'm sure others could hear us talking, but we didn't hear much from the other rooms other than a baby crying every once in a while. The pastry shop they give you vouchers for is great! Delicious pastry and coffee/tea. Lots of locals crowd in there in the morning.

This is a pretty cheap hotel in the popular termini station area of Rome. It is placed a few streets back from the station, with cheap (but excellent) restaurants/cafes in the surrounding streets, excellent transport links by way of termini station which is the main train/metro/bus station. There is also a small market selling food and clothes in the side streets during the mornings. The hotel was lovely, especially for the price. The rooms and communal area were spotless, with rooms being cleaned everyday and sheets/towels changed- and we were there over Easter, the busiest week. The breakfast was provided in the form of tokens which can be redeemed at the cafe in the next street. This was gorgeous- a cappuccino and baked product (croissants/pain au chocolat etc). The streets surrounding the hotels are quiet. However, you can hear people in the hallways outside your room, so quietness will depend on who else is staying at the hotel. The rooms themselves are the epitome of small but perfectly formed. We stayed in an ensuite room which had a terrace as well, which really made it seem a lot bigger and was lovely to sit out on. We found the staff to be wonderful and really helpful too. We had a major upset with tickets we had booked for football (DO NOT book through romalazio.co.uk, they are terrible) and they let us use their phone and internet for free for a good hour, and helped translate between Italian and English for us! They were also generally very helpful giving us directions and helped make our stay a lot easier and more enjoyable. The hotel is set up like all others in the area, taking up a floor in a terrace block of flats (note, blocks of flats in Rome much prettier than high rises in England!). It is situated on the 5th floor. There is a (small) lift, which was working throughout our stay, but if you have to the trek up the stairs is a long one (though useful when trying to burn off all the pizza and pasta). I would recommend th

Overall, it's a good place to stay. The location is perfect and very convenient for travelers to access monuments because it's less than 10 minute walking distance to the Rome main train station Termini. And there is a supermarket on the underground of Termini station. I really like the breakfast they provide, the Italian coffee is so good. The receptionist can speak English and is nice and willing to help us when we have problems. He might not at the reception desk, u can try to knock the room next to the reception, he might be there. They clean our room once in two days(we stayed there 4 night, and our room was cleaned twice), I dont know if it is normal in every hotel in Rome. The sound insulation of the room is not so good, we can hear the people live next to us. But actually, it's not noisy around the area. The room is quite small but new and clean. There is a small kitchen and frig, but no casseroles for cooking. Only a small iron cup can boil hot water or something. Overall, we enjoy our stay there.

I spent two nights in the India room at When in Rome and the room itself was quite satisfactory. It was very small, but since I only really needed it for sleeping it was not a problem. The website claims that there is 24-hour front desk service which I'm fairly certain is not the case, so if your bathroom doesn't have towels when you get there ask for some while you can still find the proprietor. The location was good, very close to the Termini train station, but not particularly scenic. Breakfast is included in the form of coupons for a cafe around the corner which provides a typical Italian breakfast of coffee and a pastry, both of which are quite tasty. My only serious complaint was that the sheets and comforter of the bed were quite dusty. But as long as you don't have asthma, you'll probably live. For 75 euro a night, this hotel was a pretty good deal.

Stay here only if you want a hostel-like experience but with your own room which you can lock. The manager listens to loud music and sings late at night, the lobby phone rings and rings all night, you can hear every movement of everyone in the place, and it's not especially clean. Honestly, it's pretty creepy. But it's a super convenient location at a great price (for Rome)!

Great location only 3 and a 1/2 blocks from Termini Station in a nice quiet area at night. During the day the area transforms into a bustling little street market with plenty of good eating places and convenience stores on every corner. Basic, budget accommodation up on the 5th floor with small elevator and free internet provided. Rooms are painted bright colours and have nice high ceilings and wooden floors. Four of the rooms share 2 bathrooms with a shower. Some rooms across the hall have private bathrooms, but are smaller in size. Front desk man is from Bangladesh and speaks English, but his service needs improvement. Make sure he gives you the breakfast coupons when you check-in as you take these to the little Piccolo Bar down the street for a delicious croissant and cappuccino or tea! The staff at this bar are very friendly and make an effort to try and speak English, but it helps if you say a few words in Italiano. Overall we enjoyed the convenience to Termini Station for transport to everywhere in Central Rome and beyond. Easy place to stay when you have heavy luggage on wheels so you can avoid taking the underground Metro which would be quite a hassle in the heat.

BUON VIAGGIO!!!
