the " breakfast buffet " was coffee, an old cake and plastic croissants. There was no room for breakfast - it should be eaten in the rooms. We decided to have no breakfast at the hotel.

This was very pleasant little hotel, we enjoyed our time in here. The staff was very helpful. We will stay again. Very close to metro, and all the attractions. A lot of places to eat and see. Our room was clean and had a small refrigerator (a plus). A small market across the street. Not noisy at night. The bed was comfortable and we had ac. If ask they will change your lining and towels. And most of all very helpful with directions on how to get around this beautiful city. Lucas and Miguel go out of their way for you. We strongly recommend this place for the money and location. You just cant beat it. It is small but it is clean, safe, and friendly. How much more can someone ask for? Sincerely thank you! Luis and Rosie

When you arrive you don't find the hotel because there is no-one there and there isn't the name of the hotel written on the door. Then you have to call them by phone and someone arrives. They writes that there is a lift but you have steps before and after the lift. In my room the hair dryer did not work. The breakfast was terrible. I'll never go there again.

- Extremely helpful staff. We were given a map of Rome, told how to use public transport, given good restaurant addresses and other useful advice. - Room in good condition (except for the leaky tap and damaged shower door, which resulted in the bathroom being flooded whenever anyone used it). - We ended up buying our own breakfast food, as the food provided was barely edible. - Also, I would not recommend this hotel to light sleepers, as even ear plugs could not block out loud and constant traffic, ambulance, horn, motorbike etc noises. Having said that, we were in one of the front rooms (the back rooms may well have been quieter)...

The place was a bit hard to find- not marked clearly by the door outside. The room was basic with a small bathroom, but well worth the 50 euro I paid at the last minute. The room was also clean and in a good location- Only a few blocks away from the Colloseum, lots of restaurants nearby and right by a subway entrance. I would stay there again.

It was terrible ! The appartments were on the 6 floor (elevatore was nonoperable). We pay not fair price (133 euro per night).air-conditioner was spoiled and was fixed after 24 terrible hours. Fair price of this appartments must be around 75 euro. Don't approach !!!!!

OK - this is the perfect place for a first time visitor to Rome (in my opinion). It's central location Centro Storico and it's location basically at the Metro station, made it an ideal base of operations. The room was very clean, and Luca the owner/manager was there when we checked in, and was very gracious and helpful. After that, the only only staff member we saw until we checked out was the person who cleaned rooms. I'm also not sure if the term bed & breakfast is appropriate for this property. Not much of a breakfast...Public internet station very convenient. Elevator SMALL, and its on equivalent of (US) 6th floor. The room itself was spartan, if not large. No frills is I guess what you are paying for here, and it's certainly what you get. Aside from an odd sewage odor the first night when turning on the bathroom fan, this is an ideal place to sleep and shower as you go explore Rome. On another note, this place is centrally located for 2 gay bars, a gay internet cafe, and a couple of gay restaurants. Considering the prices of other accommodations, this is really the best bang for your buck. If you have been to Rome before and are thinking about taking advantage of hotel and room amenities - then this isn't the place for you.

Little worrying to walk into the building and up the dodgy lift to get to the Tourist House, but once you get inside, things are fine. Room was fine, not very spacious, but we were in Rome to see Rome, not a hotel room. Breakfast is spartan to say the least with pre-packaged croisants, which we supplemented with cereals from the deli across the road. It is an excellent location for the main cultural destinations in Rome. We parked on-street, adding 11 euros/day and the parking is safe. Toilet plumbing a bit smelly at first and the shower leaked into the bedroom, but none of this in any way detracted from the great time we had at Tourist House in Rome....recommended!

This place was "adequate" but I would not go too far beyond that. The "breakfast" in particular was notable for its poor quality. It was easily the worst we had in our entire 4 weeks in Italy and France. It did have an internet connected computer for public use which was helpful. Otherwise there were no major negatives and no major pluses to the place.

My husband and I stayed at this hotel first night during our honeymoon. Nice location, very near to Metro and majestic old apartment. But we are so sorry that next morning there was no one to serve the breakfast. We waited for more than one hour and then gave up to go for a bar. We lost more than one hour, although which was compensated by the owner.

This was our first trip to Rome and chose Tourist House from Venere.com. It was a good location for us. Not far from the train station (1 metro stop and also walkable as we chose the latter when first arriving). It was convenient enough to walk to Colloseum and Forum and the metro stop right outside the Tourist House was great to get everywhere else. We arrived late in the evening and Pompeo was there to greet us. Pompeo and Luca were helpfull and even booked reservations for us at the Borghese Gallery and coordinated with us to hold our bags after check out. The free 24 hour internet service was a nice plus. Describing the Tourist House as a B&B could be a little deceiving on the breakfast side. There were some packaged croissants, multiple juices, water and coffee available that you could take back to your room ... but it was very simple and that was about it. The only real complaint though would be the shower in the triple room as it was small but the bigger problem was the shower curtain was difficult to deal with and it tended to block the drain and cause flooding. Showering took effort and felt like work. Overall we had a wonderful vacation/holiday in Roma!

Location is the best feature of this bed and breakfast. Although my room faces the street, once the windows are closed, it's very quiet. The staff are very friendly and accomondating. There's a desktop hooked up to the Internet in the public area for all to use. That's an added plus. There isn't much of a breakfast but guests can help themselves with anything in the regrigerator.

The room was fine, however, the bed was a bit uncomfortable (too hard). The breakfast was somewhat spartan but we purchased some frut and other items at the grocery store across the street as a supplement. The staff was very friendly and helpful. It was great to have a communal computer with internet access available so that we could check email. The location was great, next to the subway station and within walking distance to the Colloseum and Forum.

The room was fairly clean and decent, however the bathroom and shower was disgusting (there was a filthy build up of mould , hair and probably other things I would not like to imagine). There is no breakfast room, just take coffee, packet toast and juice to your room (no butter provided, hence no knives provided either). The trade off is the great supermarket accross the road. Our last complaint is the little party that the night attendant was having next door !!! Would not stay here again.

Great location, brothers Pompeo and Luca both have a nice personality and are extremely friendly and thoughtful. Room cleaning personnel is doing a very good job. Though I believe overall service provided is a bit overpriced (by 10% to 15%). Bathroom layout is very tight and I sometimes felt a contention over hot water consumption while taking a shower. But I'm really satisfied overall.

The Tourist House is a perfect place to stay while you visit the beautiful city of Rome. The hotel is situated 2 minutes walk from the coleseum and has amazing views from the window. The hotel is on Via Cavour, one of the best streets in Rome and is close to many great restaurants, metros, and coffee shops. The Tourist House is hard to find and when we arrived nobody was their to invite us to our room. We had to wait for about 20 minutes until somebody arrived to let us into the building. The staff was very friendly and helpfull. I would definetly reccomend this Hotel and will most definetly be back. Rome is an amazing city and via cavour will capture your heart. We enjoyed our stay at Tourist House. The location was good - walking distance to the major sights in central Rome - as well as to some reasonably priced resturaunts in the back streets. The room was noisy as it was next to the live in staff. Breakfast was as others have noted - but there is a good supermarket across the road. Internet access was a bonus. Bathrooms small but clean and OK. It would be good if they had credit card facilities. All things considered we enjoyed our stay.

Excellent location.,everything is within the walking distance. the hotel is on the 5th floor of a large building so look for the street number rather than just the hotel sign. Everybody was very helpful, some staff spoke very little english, but then my italian was equally poor!!!! There is a very good shop just across the road, Michelangelo`s Moses is in the church almost oppostite the hotel. Ok, the plug hole did not work very well, but hey, when the Colosseum is just at the bottom of your street what do you want to worry about plug holes!!!! There are some very good cafes and restaurants down the road, some good secondhand shops in little streets behind the hotel. Watch out for the groups of little gipsy kids. They will distract you very easily and whilst they are doing it there will be one who will be holding a big piece of card. The card will be placed somewhere around your waist line and the little hand will try very hard to get into your money belt!!!! We enjoyed the visit and plan to use The tourist hotel again.

The rooms were very nice, clean, spacious and quiet. The bathroom however was a bit small but clean. Breakfast consisted of a wrapped cone and a couple of biscuits with jam, which was a bit poor. It would have been nice to see someone from the staff from time to time but there was hardly ever anyone around. The location was phantastic though, just around the corner from the Colloseum and Forum Romanum and a Metro station just a few steps down the streets. We found the accommodation very well situated, only 5 minutes walk from the Colisseum and 10 minutes from the Piazza Venezia. Just across from the Metro station and a supermarket. Good area for reasonably priced meals. Proprietor very welcoming, good language skills and helpful. There was some mixup with their booking system but we were offered alternative accommodation within the Tourist House, although the extra cost to us was not pointed out. Soundproofing was very good indeed. Shower in the quadruple room was a tight fit for a larger frame trying to get through the doors, but all was clean and well stocked. Continental breakfast was fine, but knives, even plastic ones, would have been useful to spread conserve on croissants - small point, but important when all you have are plastic spoons. Overall very good value for money and we would use it again.

The Tourist House added to our perfectly stay in Roma: - The room was clean and redecorated, e.g. the noise level from the via cavour was not a problem because of the noise reduction windows. - The hotel is near the most tourist sights and you can walking e.g. to the colloseum only in 5 "Feetminutes". - Only breakfast left a little to be desired: After taking your packaged (!) bread, croissant or zwieback and coffee from the hall you have breakfast in our room;

I really enjoyed my stay at Tourist House, it's new, clean, central to most sites (I really loved walking to the hotel in the evening passing by an illuminated Forum Romanum) and I had a nice view from my room. Only the host speaks english, the staff I encountered didn't, which was quite a problem as I don't speak italian. If the staff was not in you could call the host - IF you have a mobile as there isn't a phone in your room. This was the only negative.

Great location right on the main drag of Via Cavour, but noise level was not a problem because of the double paned noise reduction windows. Room had air conditioning which made things comfortable. Breakfast left a little to be desired; this is not really a bed and breakfast in that there are only rooms on the 5th floor (lift is available) of a professional building, and so there is no dining room. Breakfast consisted of a pre-packaged croissant and coffee made each morning in the Mr. Coffee machine, but we had to eat in our room. So not a place to meet other travelers, but comfortable sleeping arrangements and great beds. What the Tourist House lacked in charm it more than made up for with location and the friendliness of the brothers who run the place.
