Fantastic location, nice clean modern rooms (not in the hotel - next door in the apartments) but extremely small and very, very noisy. Walls are paper thin so everything can be heard from your neighbours. Be quick in the shower, you only get about 30 litres of hot water so share if you can! Great breakfast across the square included in price and overall very good value considering it's location.

Great location and competent staff, but those are the only redeeming characteristics. I've never stayed in a hotel this noisy. The 3E is the annex to the Hotel Abruzzi - a townhouse apartment building a few doors down from the main hotel that's a mix of hotel rooms and residence apartments. Because there are people actually living in the building, there's constant noise from 7am until midnight as people leave and return from work, and then the noise from the restaurant underneath the building takes over. As far as we could tell, there's absolutely no soundproofing in the rooms. The front door is heavy and doesn't close quietly, so beginning in the early morning, all you hear are people going up and down the stairs, the front door slamming slamming slamming, and people talking. It's impossible to sleep in or relax in your room. No wireless or English tv in the building, which would at least help to drown out or distract you from the noise! If you want to stay in the Pantheon area, there are plenty of other hotels in the area to pick from.

Nice location just 30 meters from Pantheon and 20 meters from Hotel Abruzzi (Here you check in). Clean and modern rooms. The rooms was badly isolated and it was very noisy when people walk outside the door or jusing the toilet in the other rooms. Next time we will stay at Hotel Abruzzi, where the reseption are.

We really liked this hotel. You can't beat the location (literally across the piazza from the Pantheon), and the hotel staff (especially Antonio) are REALLY helpful. The room was a little snug for two people with big suitcases, but it was spotlessly clean. The only downside: noise from the piazza at night -- but it quiets down after 23:00.

Stayed for several days before and after a cruise. For the price and location you can't beat this hotel. Confortable rooms with a large shower. You can walk everywhere from this hotel. Despite what I read in other reviews the air conditioner did work the one time I needed it. I did however, have to stand on a chair to turn it on, as the front desk person could not find the remote for it. When I return I would stay here again.

This place is all about location. Unbeatable! My room, though, seems to have been the same room most comments are about - small and in the back, with the noisy fan. And subsequently no view at all. The bathroom is spacious and clean, but the labyrinth corridor and darkish not-so-special room made spending time there less appealing. Unless I could confirm another room, overlooking Pza della Rotunda and Pantheon, I doubt I would book this place again. There are plenty charming small hotels in Centro Storico to choose from. But, again - 3E's location is superb!

Excellent location, especially for the price. Air con doesn't work too well and the rooms are small but we would definitely stay here again. Within easy walking distance of everywhere you would want to visit in Rome and the rooms are very clean and well designed. The breakfast at the cafe was always pleasant and had an excellent view of the pantheon!

I went to Rome with my boyfriend and another couple, to get to know Rome and enjoy Italy. We stayed in the cheapest room in the Pantheon 3E. It didn't start very well because we came to Hotel Abruzzi and they wanted us to have a room at the hotel Abruzzi instead of the Town house because the air conditioning in the Town house was broken. But we didn't like the rooms at the hotel so they showed us the rooms at the Town house and they were much better although it was true the air conditioning wasn't working very well. This is the smallest room they have and it is in the back, so it doesn't have view and if you open the window there is a loud noice that comes every once in a while a bit boring, specialy at night. But the situation is explended, it is worth it and if it isn't very hot the room is ok, the cleaning is very good. If I go again I will go there again, I liked it alot. Of course the breakfast having a view to the Pantheon is incredible, although the breakfast could be better. I recomend this Town house, the price is very good for the situation.

The Pantheon 3E is ideally located in the centre of Rome so that you can walk virtually everywhere. There is a major bus stop only a block or so away. To eat breakfast in front of the Pantheon each morning when there are no crowds around is indeed magical. The Pantheon is a most impressive and unique building. The staff and the room (which has been modernised) were excellent. The place can be noisy, but this is to be expected in such a prime position. The only downside was the rather average breakfast provided. We would certainly return to the Pantheon 3E.

This Townhouse Suite is basically a "remote" hotel room. Check in is at the Albergo Abruzzi Hotel just a few steps away. Hotel services are provided by the Abruzzi staff, housekeeping and front desk. The staff was very helpful and the room was clean and modern. It is clear that an apartment was divided up into three "suites" to create this accommodation. After the street level door, you access the room by climbing a flight of stairs, opening another door (with an old key) at the landing, then entering a hallway vestibule with three doors for the suites. Breakfast is at a cafe on the Piazza, standard fare is included, coffee, expresso. cappucino or tea, rolls, butter, jam and a sweet roll. They have a full breakfast (eggs, etc) available but we never tried it. The room has excellent windows; when closed there is no noise from the crowds in the Piazza della Rotunda, in front of the Pantheon. However, keeping to its strictly modern decor, there are no curtains. In order to have privacy you must keep the exterior shutters closed. For the view and daylight, you must open the windows then open the shutters, sacrificing privacy and quiet. Some shear curtains would be nice. The windows are bay windows and it would be great to have a comfortable chair to sit in. There are lights on both sides of the bed, in the correct location for bedside reading lights, but the lights are the wrong type. They can only be used to put light on the ceiling. There were no bulbs in the light fixtures at the desk, so the bedroom area is a little dark. The bathroom has excellent lighting. There is something going on with the plumbing in the bathroom. When one "device" is in use, there is a gurgling noise from the others. There is also a slight odor in the bathroom.

My Mum and I were on a midweek break in Rome-my Mum's 1st time, my 4th visit. The location of the apartment was excellent near to all of the sites we wanted to visit, as other travellers have listed previously. Note you can get the 110 red tour bus on Via Del Corso, near Piazza Navona-the receptionist wasn't clear when we asked. The accommodation was clean, fairly comfortable for 2people for a short stay and reasonably priced for location. Just missing tea/coffee facilities. For Rome, noise level was low, as it is a busy location, but it is October, apart from street cleaning, but would not put me off staying here again. Waking up every morning was a delight, with a view of the Pantheon and 'light' breakfast on the Piazza. I would highly recommend it, and my fit 76yr old Mum, managed the stairs well-(one flight), even after a busy day of walking Rome. Bring comfortable shoes. Note: over 65's Europeans get discounts on tours, sites, etc, ie Colloseum. So bring ID!!! No discount at the Vatican museum!! Best accommodation/location I stayed in Rome.

The location can't be beat -- we could see the Pantheon from our window! The rooms appeared newly renovated and were very comfortable. Not too noisy, considering the busy street and piazza right outside, which is thanks to new windows which dampened the noise well. A simple breakfast was provided at a cafe on the Pantheon piazza, which was a nice way to start each morning. Don't expect typical hotel services. The check-in is at another hotel a few doors down (which was confusing, since we didn't know this when we got there, and the listed address takes you to an unmarked door). That being said, they were helpful when we asked for help, so it was no problem. For a 4 night stay our room was made up only once, but we weren't expecting the room to be made up so again it was no problem. If you don't mind just getting a room with a key (and no lift), you get a really nice room and great location at a great value. Would definitely recommend and stay here again!

My wife and I stayed here for three nights out of a two-week trip in Italy. We both like being in the center of it all and so we absolutely LOVED the Pantheon 3E!!! I am convinced that there is no better value for money as close to the Pantheon as this place. Pantheon 3E was super clean, newly renovated, very reasonably priced for the location, and it included a continental breakfast at a cafe right on the piazza overlooking the Pantheon. The room was well lit, the shower was spacious by Italian standards, and the windows opened onto a charming street right off of the Pantheon. And when I say right off of the Pantheon, I mean it was about 20 feet away. I wasn't actually sure what we were getting when we booked through Venere via TripAdvisor.com but the Pantheon 3E is a property associated with the historic Hotel Abruzzi, which is front and center on the piazza of the Pantheon; 3E guests have access to the Hotel Abruzzi reception, which was a help to us. The Pantheon 3E rooms are tucked behind a discreet door on a side street so you don't actually feel like such a tourist when you come and go from your room. The only caveat that I would give is regarding the amount of noise in the neighborhood. There was NO noise coming from adjoining rooms or the floor above us, but there was a fair amount of street noise. If you are a light sleeper, then you may want to consider another location. But if you're willing to trade a little city noise for a great location then the Pantheon 3E is sure to please! PS I tried to include more photos of the hotel room itself, but had problems with the website ... sorry.

Staff were very helpful and friendly. The location is absolutly fabulous- we looked out over the parthenon- amazing! The rooms were OK- clean and noise never bothered us despite its' location. Only problem was we checked into the new hotel to find the air conditioning never worked. This was really inconvenient late at night after unpacking but Simon on recpetion was very helpful and offered to change rooms for us that night. We then stayed in a room in the old hotel which had good air con., excellent view but was tad older. We also thought there were bed bugs as we were very itchy but they had the bed sanitised and used extra sheets which made it better. Despite these hiccups we enjoyed our stay but advise you check out if the air con works if staying in new block as it seems the owner is aware it doesn't work and waits for you to complain before addressing the issue (we were lucky there was room available in old part!) Still, an excellent location- hard to beat it!

Although we booked a room at the Pantheon Suite, when we arrived at the Hotel Abruzzi to check in, they informed us that they had "upgraded" us to a room in the hotel itself instead of the suite. Arriving jet-lagged, we didn't bother to have a look at the Pantheon suite which may have been better (given the comments I've read). Whatever. It worked out fine. The location cannot possibly be beat, which is what we wanted. The room we had was adequate and clean enough and we barely spent enough time in the room to care. If I were to return to Rome, I'd certainly book there again but perhaps insist on staying in the Pantheon Town House suite as reserved. Either way, amazing value for location.

The B&B is located above a legendary café, in one of the most romantic piazzas in Rome. We were in room 2, which has a view of the Pantheon. Aromas of freshly-made coffee waft in from below. The room was very spacious, with modern furnishings, nice bathroom fittings and wooden floors. The shower stall is beautifully tiled. There was plenty of hot water, nice bedding, lots of toiletries and big towels. At the time of our stay, the air conditioning was not working. We were offered a room at the Abruzzi Hotel, which also manages this B&B. We opted to stay in the Pantheon room anyway, because it was bigger and more modern. It did get very hot even with the windows open, so a fan would have been very helpful. Note that the piazza is very much alive at night, so you may find it hard to sleep. Due to the bustling location, we would especially recommend this place to a young couple who enjoys a lively atmosphere. For breakfast, you get a voucher for one of the terraces on the square. It’s such a wonderful way to start the day. The breakfast is typically Italian: coffee or cappuccino, bread, butter, jam and a dolce (a croissant or a tiramisu for example). For us it was particularly enjoyable, as up to this point on our trip, we had most of our breakfasts al banco (that is, standing at the counter). If the air conditioning were working, this B&B would have been great value for money, especially given the location.

The room was excellent value for the location. It really is in the heart of Rome. Starting the day with breakfast in the Piazza was fantastic. The only complaint was that the air-conditioner was not very effective. During our stay in Rome it was 36C every day.

This place is a real gem, you could not ask for a better location. My wife and I stayed in room # 1, from our corner windows we could look a the Pantheon and the action on Piazza della Rotonda. The Pantheon 3E is managed by the Abruzzi Hotel, the manager generously offered us to stay in their hotel at the same rate (a nice enough room overlooking directly on the fountain) but after seeing the sleek and large bathroom in the 3E room, we declined. For everyone who is wondering about the location, well, it was simply the best!!! Right on top of the famous Tazza D'Oro coffee house, everything (except the Vatican & Colosseum) was less than 10 minutes away. The only 2 things that kind of bothered us were; the dripping of the powerful a/c unit, we simply put a waste paper basket under it. The second was the boring breakfast (croissant & 2 small bread rolls with jam/marmalade and cappuccino/espresso) served on the outdoor terrace restaurant right next to the Pantheon, this was a big plus. I would also like to mention that there is about 20 steep stairs to climb to reach the unit and no one is available to help you with your luggage, you are on your own, same goes as for the cleaning, towels, etc, they will only clean up when you leave, so be warned. The room is very quiet and secure, as you need 3 keys to get pass all the doors. Overall, the room had a very minimal boutique feeling to it. Like a small studio apartment with a great view, a large bathroom, killer closets with a safe and mini-fridge. Will definitely recommend to all friends and on Trip Advisor Rome Forum, with more details about restaurants and other places of interest.

Super appartment, super decorated, however; the airconditioning was leaking and dripping all night which led to no sleep at all. It did not appear to be the first night; according to the status of the wooden floor, the airco had been dripping for quite a few time already.

Just a room, (NO service) but...Location Location Modern, new and clean, refrigerator in the room. No electric kettle for hot drinks, no public area and they do not change your towels or sheets. But is a very good worth for and above for this low price at this location. Location is fabulous, in the meddle of Rome, walking distance fro all major attractions. Breakfast in the square is a good change vs typical Italian old hotel. Air condition was only noise (but may be in May they do not turn the "Cold" option). It is not suitable for children (to small) only 2 pesrons!. Be aware not to lock from the inside the upper lock of the front door. We stood there for about an hour out side of the door because the couple inside locked it by mistake and we could not get in (at 23:00to 00:00 tiered from the flight and with our luggage with us). But…the hotel person from which we took the key for the house was very helpful, and already booked for us another room at another hotel when this couple opened the door.

We decided to book the Townhouse Suite as an alternative to hotel accommodation having been to Rome lots of times previously. As advertised the location is excellent and we really could see the Pantheon from the window. The accommodation itself is comfortable and although the bathroom off our room was small it was perfectly formed. My only small criticism was that the aircon was ineffective which was fine for a stay in March but could be difficult in warmer weather as to keep the noise out the very effective double glazed windows would need to be closed. Over all it was a brilliant base from which to explore the city. We would stay here again.

Pros: Helpful and friendly staff at the Albergo Abruzzi where we checked in. Very, very conveniently located a mere 100m from the Pantheon. This basically puts you right in the middle of everything one might possibly want to see. Nice to be able to return to the room with only a short walk. Breakfast (due to good weather when we were there: outside!) in a cafe directly on Piazza Rotonda with terrific view of the Pantheon. Room was relatively small, but in top condition (my guess: brandnew as of 2008?), stylishly furnished, plenty towels, good bedding. Good, hot shower, small fridge, TV, safe, and aircon unit. Cons: Our particular room (there were some more rooms with different layout i think) had the window to a backyard with a pizzeria, so since we had our window open (only tilting) during nightime, we either had to endure some noise or close the quite soundproof window and run the aircon. Also bothering us was a lit green diode indicating the functionality of the emergency lighting. Well, I guess we are somewhat spoiled, as at home we have the luck to sleep in a pitch black room in total silence. Overall: When someone bothers to actually mention a lighted green diode in a review write-up, you can probably figure yourself there was not much to be desired. I recommend the place, we had a very good stay and would return any time. On a side note: If you are on a budget: There's a nice supermarket in the Via Monterone. We had some good meals consisting of wine, fresh olives, bread, cheese and very good freshly cut smoked ham. Also we found the Chigi's next to the Palazzo Chigi at Piazza Colonna a good and inexpensive source of food. Drinking your coffee standing puts you back only 0,90€.
