Very spacious and quiet appartment, in one of the most beautiful central city areas. Just outside the appartment door, there is a real lemon garden (with lemon trees) . Very good breakfast at the hotel's dinning room, with a spectacular view of the city.

Bed and breakfast Lemon Garden was not available because of works when I arrived. I had to stay in Atlante Star Hotel. They should have informed me earlier about that. The Roof Garden as well was closed because of works. That was disappointing. I cannot rate the price because I payed Lemon Garden and stayed in Atlante Star Hotel.

The "Lemon Garden" is an ideal starting point for discovering Rome by foot. The location is great, halfways between the Castello di angelo and St. Peter. Our room (No 1) was quiet and clean (cleaning takes place every day). Breakfast is taken on top of the nearby hotel, continental style, breathtaking view. Friendly staff, you can leave your luggage at the desk on departure day if you leave late in the afternoon. Be aware: The next Metro stop is approx. 700 m away, not 50 m.

The distance info was completely wrong (from metro 50m and 10 to breakfast). It was much-much more. Overall the stay was nice. The rooms were clean, enaugh of space. One huge shock at first was that the apartment was kind of underground! But it did not bother us because we basicly only slept there. And the breakfast was heavenly :) This was something I could not expect but it was really the best part of whole hotel :) Sadly the roof garden was closed but even the window view was breathtaking!

The terrace that is shown on the photographs was closed, and nobody had told us. We had a beedroom with jacuzzi and didn´t work (and they didn´t care too much). The day we got to the hotel, they made us wait 45 minutes in the lobby, when I asked for a glass of water, they told me that the bar was closed and pointed me where to buy a bottle. So, with the exception of two of the people that work in the reception, the others are trully unhelpful.

Could not stay in the Lemon Garden B&B. very dirty would not put anyone in it. did not resemble the website at all. had to find alternative accomodation. Location to Vatican was great but would not stay in the filthy accomodation that was offered. very disappointed - this was a special occasion which was ruined by the accomodation which we travelled a long distance to get to. would not recommend this property to anyone!!!!

We (family of four) enjoyed our stay in the B&B very much. It's a great place to sleep and take a bath, and one is very well able to experience Rome on foot. Don't expect a great view nor a fully equipped kitchen (two spoons and a knife, lots of plates and beakers but no pans) but the relatively spacious rooms, beds, TV, Jacuzzi bathtub etc, were all in order. We did experience some problems, but these were all taken care of after we reported them: The first two days the airco was not working. This was properly fixed the third day. Also, there was a problem with the sinks in the bathroom that was apparently not so easy to fix, so the third day the nextdoor appartment was offered to us, and a generous reduction of our bill as well. If we come back to Rome we would definitely stay here again.

Despite of pictures in the web, rooms are oldest and we found problems with hot water (not enough for 4 people) and jacuzzi. Anyway, employees were very kind with us and the location is very good. We could walk to every place. If you travel for 3 or 4 days I recommed you to choose it.

In overall the apartment fulfilled our expectations and we were pleased on it. The service was friendly and breakfasts and the view at the hotel Atlantis were excellent. A couple of improvements could still be made e.g. there was a leak in the bath, TV channels were not available and it'd have been nice to have a table with some chairs outside the apartment.

I'm sorry to say that the room I stayed in was NOT the property described on the web site. It was NOT an apartment. It was a standard room with an attached bathroom, but with NO kitchen. It was very small for two people; there was no way it could be used for more than two, and by no stretch of the imagination could it accommodate five. The room I was accommodated in was NOT the one advertised; it was a completely different KIND of property (a standard room rather than an apartment). I must say that looking at the reviews of this property on the web site, I am now convinced that this is not the first time this happens. I believe that the owners of Lemon Garden have several different rooms and apartments which are all marketed using the single "Lemon Garden" property on your the site, but which differ considerably with respect to quality. In my dictionary, this is called false representation.

The bed and breakfast lemon garden was a very pleasnt place to stay. Everything was clean and friendly. The breakfast area with the marvelous overlooking of St. Peter is unique! The appartment was located to the back an in the souterrain of an old building. Therefore it was very dark - even during the day - and very quiet. So everything hast two sides ;-) A few points to the information in the web presentation: the distances from metro and to the Atlante Star seems a little longer than mentioned and the photos are a little tricky: the sun never could shine into the rooms the photo shows;-) Overall a very pleasent stay and we could recommend the location.

Family, 2 adults + 2 kids. The arrangement was good, with fairly enough space. The only problem at arrival was, it wasn't possible to access the internal parking because there was another car wrongly parked in front of the gate; however the employees in the hotel took care of our car, and parked in the hotel parking at no charge. The public areas in the building were not exciting, due also to some reparing works underway on the bldg. facade. The position of the flat was excellent, very close to S Peter's church and at a walking distance from many touristic attractions. I would certainly choose this arrangement once again.

Our stay at the Lemon Garden B&B (which is really an apartment building adjacent to the Atlante Star Hotel, where we had our breakfast) was very satisfactory. The view from the rooftop restaurant, where a very sumptuous breakfast was served, is truly spectacular, since it overlooks St. Peter's basilica and the Vatican. We would definitely stay there again, its location alone is wonderful.

The accommodation was as I imagined using the pictures on the web site as a guide.I had emailed in advance to ask for a quiet room at the back away from any road noise. This was what we were given, although it only had views of the pipes and drains in an internal service courtyard. The breakfasts at the hotel were excellant, however the hot buffet was not put out until after 9 o'clock (they stop serving at 10) so we missed out.As like most visitors to Rome we made early starts, taking breakfast soon after 7.It wasn't until our last morning that we had a lie in and realised this!! One of the main attractions for choosing this hotel was the roof garden. However on arrival we discovered that it was closed for repairs and had been for 3 months. Mentioning this before booking would have been appreciated. A couple of problems (air conditioning not working,no picture on T.V.)were not sorted despite their promises to do so. Overall the apartment in the Lemon Garden was very comfortable, spacious and excellant value for money. It was in a good location (although quite a walk from the metro)and overall I would recommend it.

On the day on our arrival we were told that our room was not ready yet and that it would be ready within a couple of hours. Unfortunately we later found out that a water-pipe was broken (at least that is what we were told). But some how we talked to some guests who were living in "our" appartement in the two days where we slept somewhere else??!!?? On the first day we were offered 3 hotel rooms in other hotels, where the first 2 rooms were (absolutly) not up to the standard we had ordred. the 3th. was okay and we were very tired so we took it. The 2nd day we slept in, I would guess, some of the hotels rooms in a building nearby. I don't mean to sound angry. But when we, 1 day before our arrival, had revieved an e-mail saying that everything was ok, and when we got there it was not, I get kind of disapointed. However we WERE compensated by only paying half of the rent for the 2 days, and a dinner in the hotels restaurent. Which was kind of the staff. The rest of the holiday was perfect, and I hope one day to come back to Rome.

============================================== Wonderful location, just a few steps from St.Peters and St.Angel's Castle. We got a wide room, with a double bed and two single beds. Nice bathroom with Hydromassage tub. Everything was very clean, nice and spacious. Breakfast absolutely SUPER, at the Hotel Atlante's restaurant, which is located right next door, with a wonderful view of St.Peter's Basilica. The only negative point about the room is that is was a bit noisy because it faces the road (Via Vitelleschi) and the windows are not sound-proof. Not a problem though, because after a long walk through Rome you go to bed rather tired and get used very quickly with the noise. In a feedback-note of another user I've read they do not accept credit-cards. This is not true. I've used my AMERICAN EXPRESS with absolutely no problem. My opinion is abolutely positive and I'll certainly would choose LEMON GARDEN B&B for my next stay in Rome.

The "Lemon Garden," as I understand it, actually consists of a few rooms attached to the back of the very nice (four stars, I believe) Atlante Gardens hotel near Vatican City. As there were no rooms available at the actual Lemon Garden, we recieved a room at the actual Atlante Gardens, an unheard of deal in the heart of Rome at 125 Euros a night. As we were overlooking a small courtyard, it was also unusually quiet. I'm not sure how long this will last, but if you want the full-meal deal - concierge service, rooftop restaurant overlooking the Vatican, etc. - this is the place to be. Only complaint: the inadequate shower (not unusual for Europe) caused water to flood out the door into the bedroom. We complained of a mildewy problem immediately, but got no response. Other than that, terrific stay.

This is one of the best stays we have had, the rooms were very spacious, and remodeled, so everything was clean, neat and new. The rooms were only a little bit noisy, because we were facing the road, but that was the only downside. The breaksfast was excellent, at their restaurant, with a beautiful view of the St. Peter's Basilica, we were walking distance from the Vatican, nice and friendly family restaurant, good prices and good food. We will definitely stay there again. We travelled with 3 children, so it was great, and the personnel was always very helpful and with a smile.

I really liked Lemon Garden. We were in a building away from the hotel where we registered, had breakfast, and paid. The distance was about two blocks, so it was not a problem, except when attempting to find the place. I happenned to find a faq that mentioned that registration was at a hotel with a different name so I eventually recognized the place. Other than the initial finding of the location, it was great.

I was really surprise when I arrived there because I didn't find AT ALL the room showed on the picture of your website !!!! When I complained to the reception of the hotel about the difference between what I saw on the website and the actual room, a very arrogant man answered me that it could be no mistake as there was only one Lemon Garden B&B room! The review of Venere is completly lying about the room (because this is a ROOM , not an appartment !). First of all, you do not get your own set of key. The room is located in the next buildind of Atlante hotel and every time you need to go in your room, you need to pass by the hotel reception to ask for someone to come with you and open you the main door of the building ! If the room is perfectly clean, the common areas of the building are terrible and smell like stables. Now the room : don't expect anything like shown on the picture, the room, very very VERY noisy has four plain white walls ("large luxurious" !?!), the only deco is the air conditionning, no telephone, almost no space to put your clothes and after two days we didn't succeed to find the comfortable living room and the kitchen !!!! A HUGE DISSAPOINTMENT !!!!

Once again as other users we were stung by the fact that the Lemon Gardens were under renovations but we were shown into what I can only say was a 'quaint' room, no way matching in size what we had ordered over the web. But for the fact that we were only looking for a place to lay our heads at night it was more than adequate, and clean. The staff at the Atlanta Star Hotel were also excellent, so when I got the bath plug stuck it only took them the time that we spent wandering around room that day to get them to fix it, (a plumber that quickly). My only concern was that some poor person would have to normally pay 299 € per night for a room that we paid 125€ a night for as this was the cost of the Lemon Garden room. All the usual stuff was there including roof top restaurant (under rennovation as well) and the jacuzzi bath, but the room was in now way luxurious as was on par with a Travel Lodge in most ways. One point to note that if you stay in the Lemon Gardens they are not next to the Atlante Star Hotel but a couple of blocks away and the view from the windows as on the website, well that's impressive if they exist. My main gripe was that a week before arriving we recieved an e-mail from the Atlante Star stating that they were confirming our reservation for the Lemon Garden (no mention that it was under rennovation), therefore my thinking is is that it was over booked and as we didn't arrive till 10 o'clock there was no room at the inn. Don't get me wrong the hotel is adequate as are the rooms, the staff are fantastic as well but I just like people to know to take everything the see and read on the website with a pich of salt and know that there might be a chance that they don't get into the Lemon Garden or that the lovely view might not be theirs.

A few days ago I filled out this evaualuation mistakenly thinking it was for our accomadations in London. Today, I realized the evaluation was for our wonderful B&B in Rome. We were so pleased with our rooms, the service, our breakfast and the location. It was perfect! Today, I recommended the Lemon Garden B&B for friends of mine who are travelling to Rome in September. The only problem we had was with the TV's. We could not get them to work and neither could the service people sent to "fix" them. It wouldn't have mattered to us normally, except that my grandson was very much into the European Cup games. Other than that, as I have said, everything was wonderful.

For a B&B, Lemon Garden is to be recommended :spacious and clean rooms and is quite well located, close to the Vatican. You need each time to ask the key for the entrance of the house at the Hôtel, but the latest is just next door... Only two main observations : quite noisy rooms coming from the street due to single windows and the fact that you need to pay cash, when you know that the Hôtel (where you pay) do have the facilities for credit cards !

Very close to the Vatican and in a good neighborhood (no crime and lots of good street restaurants with good prices). The Lemon garden is actually an appartment located next door to the Atlante Star hotel. This single appartment was divided into 5 bedrooms with a common sitting area (living room). Don't believe you are staying in a luxury appartment with living room and kitchen. What you do get is a regular room (plain) with a nice bathroom. Rooms 1-3 are street side and are VERY noisy (we had to use ear plugs to sleep). The roof top terrace at the Atlante Star was nice and the included buffet breakfast was pretty good catering mostly to Americans. Pick-up service was very nice and we gladly paid the E18 each for the return trip. They require cash for the Lemon Garden but not for the Atlante hotel. They have an internet station at the hotel for 2 euros (20 minutes). Close to the #40 express bus which goes through the major sites all the way to the Collisseum. The Metro is a 10 minute walk. Request rooms 4 or 5 as they are in the back of the building and more quiet. 2 ATM's within 1 block. contact me if more questions. bogart_s@msn.com Scott

Overall, we really enjoyed our stay at Lemon Garden Bed and Breakfast but it really isn't a "bed and breakfast" at all. It is more of an apartment - with a small living area and kitchen in addition to a bedroom. It is 3 blocks from the hotel that it is affiliated with and is rather isolated. It was an apartment on the ground floor of what appeared to be a residential building. Our room had no phone or way of connecting to the hotel in the event of an emergency. Though the apartment was lovely, it's not the "bed and breakfast" that we were expecting. We enjoyed the breakfast at the hotel restaurant a few blocks away and considered it to be the best hotel breakfast that we had on our entire 10 day trip. The day time hotel desk attendant was very helpful but we found the gentleman who worked the desk at night to be less than friendly. We would recommend the Lemon Garden Bed and Breakfast to anyone who is looking for an apartment-type atmosphere. If you are looking for the personal service and attention of a traditional bed and breakfast, you should keep looking. Also, there is no lemon garden, just a lemon tree in the driveway outside the apartment.

we would have liked to have breakfast on the top roof terrace but due to renovations it was not open (and maybe to early in the season also). For us it would have been fine, and the reason why we chose for Atlante Star/lemon garden. We didn't see Lemon garden but were placed in a room in Atlante Star. The room had a nice view on the St. Peter's cathedral. The breakfast was rather business like. Classical music and serenity. Try to have breakfast in the hotel Locarno once and you'll see the difference. There is a better atmosphere during the breakfast, more special.

the room has been vey spacious and clean. It is a very good alternative to a hotel especially because you may use the breakfast in the hotel with a spectacular view to St.Peter.The room is not located ,as indicated on the website ,on a top föoor but in the first floor,so from the room ( appartment) no view.

To quote: "The "Golden House" apartment is located on the top floor of a historical building and boasts luxurious and large rooms offering an amazing panoramic view of Rome and St. Peter's, and right next door from the prestigious ATLANTE HOTELS." We were suprised on check-in to be escorted a block and a half away to a ground level apartment instead of a top floor room with a view. However, the apartment was spacious, clean and quiet and the area was quite safe so we cannot complain. It was just the view that was lacking.

The Golden House was a very nice, clean and private place. It is simple, but easy. There are no bells and whistles, but a nice jacuzzi tub and a little kitchen (no cookware). We enjoyed the distance from the actual hotel (about 1/2 block). It felt like we were more on our own. The walls are very thin, however, as evidenced by the very noisy honeymooning couple above us....wow! Great place to stay.

When we arrived we had to register at the accompanying 4-start Atlante Hotel and they brought us (carried our cases) to Orange Garden B&B without informing us about the change from Golden House (so therefor no comparison possible with website information). After asking reception they confirmed and also indicated lower price. Then we had an excellent time with superb breakfast and stunning views from the roof. I think I will definitely go back there when I want to stay in Rome, all main interesting sites are well within walking distance. All in all I would like to recommend this location for a low budget stay with high budget type of extra's (breakfast, etc.). Free pick-up from the main airport only, NOT from Ciampino!

Golden House is effectively an annex of the 4-stars Hotel ATLANTE. The room is small and being on the street level, and not on the top floor as mentionned, is quite noisy as well. The description on the Website is erronous and reflects the Hotel's situation. Otherwise we have access to the breakfast facilities of the Hotel with beautiful view on the St Peters Cathedral (The photograps are taken from there and not from the Golden House. The location is ideal, close to the major sites, well served by bus or metro.

When we were picked up at the airport, we were taken to the hotel Alante Star (which is, evidently, next door to the Golden House). We were told that the Golden House was having work done on the A/C and that we would be staying at the hotel instead. We were given the only room (facing front) with a double balcony. My wife and I spent every evening on that balcony facing the beautiful view of the Vatican dome. The house keeping and dining room staff were excellent. The front desk: even better!! Our stay was fantastic and we look forward to our next visit to both Rome AND the hotel Alante Star. Two thumbs up!!!

This place was "horrible" The Atlante Hotels should be ashamed of themselves. They talk about the GOldne house and it's rooms with a view on the website. We get there and they tell us that there is a water break and the Golden House is not available. So they give us a room in the Orange Garden B&B. The room was smaller than what we asked and right next to the very loud and busy street. We asked every day if the GOlden House was available and they kept telling us no. They finally moved us into a larger room in the Orange Garden that was not next to a street. Of course the tub leaks every time we took a shower and the bathroom floor was wet all the time. They compensated by giving us extra towels to lay on the floor to pick up the water! What is really irritating is the fact that the staff never apologized! They did not seem sorry at all for the horrible service nor did they offer us a room in the hotel as we were clearly dissatisfied with our accomodations at the B&B. To make things worse we had to ASK for a reduction in our stay even though they knew that the Golden House rates are more expensive than Orange Garden! I can tell that we even got ripped off! We should of had a discount on our bill of 180 euros but instead we only received 80! Never go here....We have traveled to Buenos Aires, Hong Kong, Paris, London, Tokyo. We have never received such poor service and rude behavior. This ruined our whole experience in Rome. Book at this hotel and/or B&B at your own risk!

After arriving late at night, we were shocked to find our room was actually a suite, complete with a small balcony that overlooks the Vatican. The mirrors on every square inch of surface took a little getting used to, but our stay was wonderful. Breakfast was delicious, and the view from the rooftop dining room was breathtaking. Finally, the hotel was kind enough to allow us to leave our luggage with them until our train left late in the evening. We'll be back.

Great location. Private three-bedroom-appartement on fifth floor (elevator), two rooms with Vatican-view. Two of the rooms very big (we did not see the third room). Bathrooms for two of the three rooms across the floor (you get the key for your own bathroom). Room and bathroom cleaned daily. Free airport pick up worked (after one hour - but worked), just send them the flight details and they fax you back where the bus driver will meet you; great breakfast without any extra charge in the vatican-view-restaurant in the hotel (almost next door). Bus-stop across the street. Rooms clean, just the window would have needed a hand. Without having to leave the privacy of the room for reaching the bathroom absolutely comparable to three to four stars standard of Rome hotels. We definitely will come back to stay at the same place next year.

The Golden House is an excellent place to stay. It's in an old building next to the Alante Hotel. So you have to walk across the street (very close) from where your staying to check-in, eat breakfast, etc. The room was relatively big and very nice. Very plush with antique furniture and beautiful bedspread and curtains. The bathroom is big and nice as well, but it's difficult to take a shower as there is no shower curtain. It had a phone, but no TV, which was fine with us. It had a small terrace which we really liked, up high, but there is not much of a view. The building is among others where many people live. So the view is of locals tending there gardens and going about their business. The floor has a common area with a fire place and a place for tea service. It has much more of an apartment feeling, not like a bed and breakfast. The breakfast at the hotel (included) was amazing. It's in a formal dining room with an incredible view of the city and the breakfast buffet was the best we had the whole trip. HUGE. The front desk/bellman service wasn't the friendliest we had, but they were efficient and took care of the things we needed (parking, directions, etc). It is located just a few moments walk from St. Peters. We would definitely stay there again.
