My boyfriend and I stayed at La Papessa for 2 days in mid July and it was fantastic! Extremely good value for money. Marcella was incredibly welcoming and helpful in introducing us to Rome. The location is amazing and in walking distance to everywhere. I will be recommending La Papessa to friends.

Excellent stay. Very clean and comfortable providing what you want in a B & B. Breakfast enjoyable and nothing was too much trouble. A little noise from the road at night (but you are in the centre of a city). Central to all the sights of Rome. Would stay here again.

Monica at reception was very kind and helpful throughout our short stay. Location was central and within walking distance to all of the sites. We would recommend this Inn for its location and customer service.

Great location. Just a few blocks from the Trevi Fountain or the Pantheon. Bus stand just outside the hotel entrance. Plenty of places to eat within a short distance of the hotel. Would recommend to any travelers.

We had booked this B&B on the strength of the reviews we had read and were not disappointed. The guesthouse is in a perfect location to visit all the main sites in the centre of Rome. It is clean and comfortable and the hosts are very welcoming and helpful. We were lucky enough to have a room at the back and it was extremely quiet. Breakfast was included in the price and perfectly adequate. Overall great value for money and we will certainly recommend it to friends.

When our door was closed, we couldn´t access the wi-fi form our smartphone. Except for that, the B&B is excellent

You couldn't ask for a better location. The owners were lovely and quite helpful. I would definitely recommend this B & B.

Great position, close to Fontana di Trevi, Quirinale and other interesting points; the room was very clean and nice, the staff very kind and the breakfast adequate. I live in the country in a quiet place, so for me it is a bit noisy (my room was on Via del Corso, a trafficated street).

if you are an independant traveller who require to supprot or help or do not expect much warmth or support from the staff then stay at this B&B. Its very central - in the historic centre of Rome. rooms are small but clean. Breakfast is organized in another B&B ! There is no common area.

The staff at La Papessa were fantastic! One member of our party arrived later than we'd corresponded due to navigation difficulties. The staff member on duty called the cell number we'd given and helped lead her to the site. The other two of us had flight difficulties leading to lost luggage and, again, La Papessa was generous in the help they provided to retrieve it. The limited desk hours were a potential problem for the luggage delivery, but La Papessa helped us work around it. The location is central and the rooms much larger than others I've seen throughout Europe. A great find!

Everything we read about La Papessa was true. Katarina's wonderful care started before we left home. Because she warned me about the taxi charges in one of her e-mails and told me how much we should pay from the train station, we were saved from paying more than double! They provide a computer in the sitting area that was always working and available for our use, so the fact that the wifi did not work in our room, didn't matter because it worked in the sitting area right outside the room. It was very quiet and private, almost like being in a home. I checked mail and searched for places to eat in my PJ's. We are New Yorkers and felt that everything was within easy walking distance, but the buses are right there if you are inclined. We were there in a heat wave and the AC worked great. The blow dryer worked and I was glad I did not have to lug one with me. There is a safe you can program your own combination. They give you an electric tea pot and tea bags for your room. The small frig allowed for keeping water, soda and milk or juice. We watched the news in english on the 32" TV. All and in, a great place and we were lucky, and grateful, they had a room for us.

This is a place to just sleep at. The room did not have much space to put clothes. There was a refrigerator/bar, but it was not plugged in and there was no place to plug it in. There typically is no one on staff on the premises so if you need things - good luck. There were the typical little bottles of shampoo and body wash in the room, but those were never replenished so we had to eventually go buy soap. The internet mostly works but would often quit working. The elevator to go up to the property often does not work so you get to enjoy the bare bulbs hanging by wires that light the stairwell. The air conditioning works well and the property is tastefully decorated. It is not a horrible place and the location is excellent. However, I will look elsewhere next time.

La Papessa truely is a great place to stay in Rome. You can not be better located and this B&B is clean and very (!) welcoming. Caterina speaks several languages, takes her time to explain everything and is very friendly. I felt at home. The breakfast lady is very sweet too, as the rest of the staff. So overall an excellent stay, except for 1 thing I feel I have to mention: I found the breakfast to be rather limited given the price we paid and the fact it is a B&B. The breakfast consists exclusively out of sweet things (marmelaids, italian croissants). Some ham and cheese for example would have been welcome. This is my only less brilliant remark regarding La Papessa.

This b&b was a fantastic location in Rome. Walking distance to most sites or very close to transport to get you to the sites. The rooms had welcoming air conditioning, were very clean, as was the large bathroom. This place was a little oasis in the middle of Rome. I would certainly re book this place if i was to return to Rome. Very nice surprise for couples. Not big enough for a family.

We stayed at the room called Il Re. We had reservation for 3 people. The room had a full bed and two single beds. The bathroom was very good, the room very well decorated. The location was great. Everything looked new. If somebody is looking for silence, my room is not the right one because it was besides the breakfast room. Also, since it is close to Corso street, I could hear noise coming from the Corso street, but it was nothing that bothered me that much. The breakfast was simple, just toast, brioche, cake, juice and coffee. The coffee was delicious. Overall, loved the B&B and we will stay there again.

Located in the heart of Rome on Via del Corso. All major attractions within walking distance. A few steps sq. Colonna, fountains of Trevi, the Pantheon, sq. Venice and the Quirinal. Until the Vatican can be reached by bus 62 or 492. Prior to the Termini station by bus 175. About 10 min. Cost of trip - 1 euro. Tickets bought in magazine stands or tobacco shops. Rooms are clean, spacious and cozy. There are all necessary for a comfortable stay, including DVD, safe, refrigerator, electric. kettle, tea and coffee. In the lobby free internet (Windows - Italian). Friendly staff. The friendly hostess - Caterina.

LaPapessa is perfectly located, once you find it. It would help if the directions to the hotel were more clear. The entrance is located right across the street from the bus stop, back off the corner, next to the pharmacy. The rooms were spacious for Rome, comfortable, the bathrooms were fresh and clean, and the water hot and with good pressure. The receptionists were very friendly and helpful. Breakfast was continental, just coffee and mediocre croissants. We didn't spend much time in the hotel, but it was a pleasure to return after a long day. I would return and stay here again.

B&B is centrally located - within walking distance to all tourist sights (including Vatican City, Galleria Borghese, and Coloseum). If you do not wish to walk, public transportation and taxis are readily available. Being that it is located on Via del Corso there is noise from street traffic - cars, buses, tourists. If this is a problem, my suggestion is to ask for a room farthest away from the avenue. Staff is extremely kind and helpful. They are always available in person or by phone.

The BandB was delightful -- very new and clean, in an excellent location. We walked everywhere. Staff spoke English and were very attentive and helpful. Only drawback was breakfast which was provided as toast/breadsticks in cellophane with a long shelf life. We only saw fresh sweet rolls one day out of five. Going out for breakfast wasn't much better as it was difficult finding eggs at 10:30 in the morning. Maybe bring your own cereal or ask staff to provide. Otherwise, we had a great stay and would return.

It took us 2 hours to find the hotel as not clearly signed outside. The building that had No 61 on was not the one where the hotel was. Other than that it was a fantastic place and will definitely go there again. The proprietors were wonderful so they made our experience of their city more wonderful. There is so much more to see so we will definitely stay with them again as it was so central to everything.
