Great service and quality room for the price. Don't miss a chance to go the other direction when you exit Amy's, not toward the ruins, but to Piazza Vittorio, an urban melting pot that shows a side of Rome not in the guide books.

It was woman traveling alone, but because English was proficient, the staff was able to take enough communication by the English word conversation and had you cope at all kindly. There are a refrigerator, a kettle pot in the room and is convenient because there is the supermarket in the neighborhood. But I felt the shower booth to be small alone. When voices of the next room and the kitchen are loud voices, I am known.

I stayed 3 nights for my work, leaving early and coming back late; so I found the service too poor: no possibility for breakfast before 8, no phone in the room. Payment is due before checking out, and withdrawal is sometimes performed without informing the customer. Other wise, well located - close to Termini and other places, and good value for money.

Very comfortable stay in this fine hotel. It was perfect for us, a family of 6. We traveled by train from Venice to Rome, and the hotel was a couple of blocks away from the train station. Upon departure from Rome, the staff set up a shuttle to the airport for us at a rate cheaper than train. We would return to La Casa di Amy on a future visit to Rome.

The rooms were a bit small but acceptable. This is the first time we stayed at La Casa di Amy. My only issue is that apparently they turn the hot water off at some point in the evening so you can't take a shower or even get warm water to wash your face even at 9:00 p.m. I'm not sure what time they turn it off. Also, it's advertised as a B&B and the breakfast is not included in the price, but they have a very nice breakfast.

Casa di Amy is situated in a busy part of Rome close to Termini station but the rooms are really quiet as the look out onto private courtyards (with no noisy neighbours). The B&B consists of different apartments but inside the apartment door there is a normal corridor like in any hotel. The staff is excellent. When I'm going back to Rome I will stay att Casa di Amy again. There are a lot of restaurants in the area and you can get a basic three course meal and something to drink from 10 euros. At Termini station you find trams, busses and the underground and it doesn't cost a fortune - 1 euro for a single ticket or 11 euros for a 3-day tcket(May 2011). It's faster to buy your ticket at the newspaper kiosk in the station than joining the queue at the vending machines in the underground

Overall, it is fine. The surrounding area around Termini looks a bit run down. The bed and breakfast itself was ok. The duvet looks a bit old, but overall the place is clean and quiet. Our room overlooks a park which was nice. Just remember that breakfast is not included (€8 per person). The pastry and slices of cold meat provided was not worth €8.

The best value for money (bed and breakfast) hotel my wife and me have experienced in Rome. Located in 5-minutes walking vicinity of Termini main station, it´s astonishingly quiet too - depending on the guests you share the hotel with, of course. As the walls between rooms are not very thick, this could become an issue, but was no problem during our stay. Bathrooms are in excellent shape - we have seen others in hotels in Rome. The reception and service in the breakfast room could not be more friendly and helpful -excellent, superior to expensive "real" hotels, also providing valid info and advice. The breakfast is recommendable too, with Nespresso Coffee. (It seems to be a family -women run- hotel.) As we always take single rooms (due to me creating noise problems ;-) we can judge these rooms are recommendable for singles - also not always the case in Rome. So - if you are looking for an inexpensive bed and breakfast hotel for a cultural trip to Rome: just check if there are rooms available. We dare to say it couldn´t get any better than this one.

The staff is great and the location is not bad. Close to public transport but you can walk to city centre for 30-40 min. The rooms are clear. The only problem I had it's a noise coming not from outside as there are double glasing but from inside as the walls are extremely thin.

I stay here overnight before leaving Rome. Great location walking distance to the train. There are only 2 small problems. The mattress was quite hard and I did not sleep as well as usual. The other thing is that I arrive about 6 pm by train and there always seems to be a problem using my credit card to pay the bill at this time of day. Considering the price I pay I do not understand why they cannot take payment at this time of day.

Everyone at La Casa di AMy was great and so welcoming. They have two properties and the one I stayed in had 4 rooms , but I was alone the majority of my stay, very quiet. The rooms are clean and the breakfast was good, very nice spread. The property has an elevator which is good since they are on the third floor. The only con was the bed . The bed in room #1 needs to be replaced. You can feel the springs right in your back. Everything else was great. This is my second time staying at the property, and I would stay again, but not in this room with this bed. Grazie tutti.

The hotel is located just 10 minutes walking from the Colosseum and Foro Romano, 15 minutes from Fontana di Trevi and Piazza di Spagna, which is very convenient. The welcome on arrival was great, Lilla is a very warm person and so are her colleagues. We had a good time in the hotel, the breakfast were fine, so the only thing I could complain about are the surroundings, the area around the Termini station is not the nicest nor the quietest.

Amy was a wonderful hostess, so nice and welcome as was everyone at the property and so efficient. Escorted us to our room and made sure everything was alright before leaving. On check in we were given local information and the staff spoke both Italian and English. There was an elevator, micro mini, but there was a elevator which is one of my priorities. The room was clean and neat and we had a nice little balcony overlooking the courtyard. Many restaurants in the area. Great location to the train station.

La Casa di Amy was a well-run BUSINESS. If I were a business traveler, this mood would have been perfect - solid, professional, a little cool for the tourist, but still no surprises is good. Towards the railway station, things felt safe enough; not so much going the other direction later in the evening. AC worked great & windows dampened outside noise very well. Cleanliness could be a little better, but still a very attractive property.

The breakfast was excellent with coffee, milk, juices, pastries, fruit, cheeses/salami/ham. Rooms with air conditioning which is a must have in summer in Rome. Rooms also have a mini-fridge and coffee maker which are pretty useful. Due early checkout got breakfast delivered to my room the night before. I would definitely stay again here!

The staff were very welcoming and friendly when we saw them. As the hotel rooms are basically appartments in a private sqaure you only see the staff at breakfast or if you need them. The area was very safe but very busy nearby as the main train station is only 3 minutes away. However it is very quite due to being a private courtyard. The breakfast was very good and had a variety of food. The rooms were quite big and had tea/coffee making facilities and a small fridge. The room was very nice kept tidy. The surrounding area was very usefull, as i mentioned the main train station is very close (with a big bus terminal next to it). There are plenty of bars, resturants and shops withing a ten minute radius. Everything in the room worked perfectly fine and we had no problems with facilities. The bathroom was a little small but nothing to worry about. Because of the set up if you are going to need constant help/room service this wont be for you as its more of an apartment than a hotel.

Stayed at La Casa di Amy for 7 nights in July-all the staff were wonderful. Location pretty central-very close to the train station, so handy to arrive and depart from there. The room was quite spacious (tiny but ok bathroom) and had its own air-con (very welcome in the July heat!)We looked forward to the filling and varied breakfast each morning-it gave us a good start to the day and we only needed a snack at lunchtime. The staff were always friendly and helpful. Also on a positive note-there is a very reasonably-priced laundromat opposite the b'n'b, plus a nearby supermarket and overseas phone/fax place. Tavelling with a youngish (9 year old) child, we both found La Casa di Amy very homely after a few days.Would recommend it to the traveller who looks for value-for-money as you certainly get that here!

Good localization close to Roma Termini station (train, metro and bus). No need of taxi from/to the FCO airport with the Leonardo Express (very fast -35min- as has no stops. About 14euros/pax; a little expensive for my taste, but way cheaper than a regular taxi that should be more than 50euros and almost an hour, although there are other services/possibilities for almos the same prize as the train). From the hotel you can walk to many places of the city or use metro or buses from the station (Included if you buy the Roma pass for 3 days upon activation). The rooms are very clean and the breakfast is very good. The hotel has wireless and an extra computer in the reception. The staff is very helpful and kind. I will recommend this place to my friends and of course think of La Casa di Amy if I come back to Rome (I threw a coin to the Fontana di Trevi, so I should) ;-)

When we walked into the room, it was even more than I expected! Love the style/perfect for a romantic night in Rome. Balcony view. Heat in room. Choice of tea w/water boiler. Blowdryer. Large towels. Breakfast was very good(much to choose from)...but not hot. AND it is the most comfortable bed I've slept in in Europe yet! It is ACTUALLY a full size mattress. On my way from Siena to Rome by bus I fell and hurt my wrist. On arrival in Rome at Laasa di Amy I was quite distressed. The young lady, Simona, in reception immediately called the owner who promptly drove me to the hospital and stayed with me to organise for an English speaking attendant and an English speaking Doctor to look after me. It was subsequently found that I had a serious double break of my wrist. When I returned to La Casa di Amy after having my wrist set and plastered the staff continued to help me for the rest of my stay way beyond their obligations and way beyond my expectations. I really don't know how I would have maqnaged without them. My sincere thanks and gratefulness goes to Luisa, Simona and Voileta. Apart from this, the accommodation, decor and cleanliness were excellent and I would definately recommend them.

Great location, 2 blocks from the railway station and metro. Very friendly and helpful stuff. I came 1 day after my initial reservation, 30 min after breakfast. They couldn't provide me some snack, while the kitchen was just there in the apartment. I told to the nice, friendly lady that I had traveled from 4 a.m. by that time. The next day I was leaving earlier than the breakfast time and they told me sandwiches would be in the room. I had a liter of milk and yogurt left on a table, out of the fridge. the temperature there was 31C. there were no promised sandwiches. I think the manner to serve breakfast in the room is a little weird, while the nice kitchen is in the apartment. Anyway, that was a little negative moment, not very important. The place is great, the owner, Simona the lady at the reception, are really wonderful, friendly people. I totally recommend the B&B to everyone and will stay there again

La Casa di Amy is an excellent location in Rome for people, who doesn't especially wish a luxury hotel. It is located in a old house near the Railway Station Roma Termini, what was very comfortable for us. The rooms were big (except the bathrooms, but it had all we needed), clean, with lovely details. My husband and I were very pleased with our stay at Casa di Amy. From the initial warm welcome to the personalized attention we received throughout our short stay, we felt like we were staying with long-time friends. Casa di Amy is very close to Termini, so it makes getting to/from the railway station very easy (a good base from which to do some exploring). That said, it's on a quiet side street, so you don't get street noise. The rooms are admittedly small, but this is Europe, so we weren't expecting McMansion sized rooms. Further, the price cannot be beaten given the cleanliness, location, and service. And the breakfast was satisfying and generous. Overall, a lovely stay at the Casa di Amy, and we would DEFINITELY stay there again if we are ever back in Rome.

I have stayed here 3 previous times and this was the smallest, cramped room of my 4 stays. As well, the TV was an older model without a remote and poor reception. Poor lighting for reading. The hairdryer supplied did not fit the outlet in the bathroom and the only mirror was in the bathroom. Previous stays I was on the same floor as where breakfast was served and the rooms were more spacious with plasma TVs. This stay was on the floor below.

Really needs WIFI throughout hotel. They switched me to another room mid-stay, which was kind of annoying. Breakfast has good variety but not good quality, and isn't as super as I'd read. The area is not bad at all, especially if you're only in town a couple days anyway. Metro is right nearby, and you can walk anywhere too.

Staff was very friendly, breakfast was excellent. Room was clean and sized nicely. The walls are paper thin and we had a family who lives in the same building next to our room. You could hear everything that was going on, it didn't bother us much but it might someone who is a light sleeper. Location is great, couple blocks from the Termini train station for easy access to airport train, but also relatively close to the heart of Rome. The area appeared safe and we did not run into any issues during our 3 night stay. I would recommend this B&B to anyone, it's a great value for the price.

We were very happy with the accommodation, it was close to the train station (walking distance) it was within walking distance of the many of Ancient Rome sites, a few doors away was a convience store that served all our needs (alcohol, sandwiches etc.) and overall a pleasant experience.

La Casa di Amy is an OASIS in that desert of pricey, substandard hotels known as Rome! I travel in Italy a lot. Decorated in a tasteful, fresh way with a beautiful breakfast room and wonderful staff -- for the price, you will not find a better place to stay in Rome. The B&B is very close to the train station and in an immigrant neighbourhood, hence my rating of 7 for hotel surroundings -- but if you want the convenience of the station you must accept the fact that the area will be like that. I had an interior room that was very quiet considering the area. If you have a room on the street you have to figure there will be noise. NOTE: The photos actually do not do the place justice. It is absolutely lovely. I was so impressed I must say I am baffled by negative reviews and encourage the reader to attribute them to travel-weariness or ignorance/unrealistic expectations.

this was a great deal. central location to take advantage of walking/public transportation to all of rome. lovely breakfast with quality food. immaculate room. a real as opposed to a plastic place. so much more peace of mind than when spending euro 250 just to sleep, and then another 15 euro for toast and tea.

My stay at Casa di Amy was very enjoyable. The rooms were clean, the breakfast was excellent, and the employees were so friendly and helpful. The location is very central, by Termini, and there are numerous restaurants in the area. I would return to Casa di Amy, and recommend to anybody from a single person to a group. Thank you to Simona and Maria!!

The room was very small, and the bathroom was built inside the room. There was a coffe pot with a variety of teas and coffes. Breakfast was excellent. The BB was very well located, a few blocks from the central station. The area is safe and has many restaurants. This is a place just for one night, because there was no room to keep clothes or to put luggage if you have many pieces.

The hotel is two streets away from Termini station. The neigborhood is busy but my room was quiet. The room was clean and spacious, the staff was friendly, though not everybody spoke English. We managed anyway though :-) During office hours there is an internet computer that guests can use. You get your money's worth.

The staff was wonderful, helpful and very friendly. The only downside was that the rooms do not have telephones. The location is within a 5 minute walk to Termini station, buses, grocery stores and restaurants. There is a wonderful restaurant across the street that I highly recommend by the name of Cencio or something like that. Ask Simona, the manager, for the correct name, but all you have to do is go across the street. I was given a lovely room, large by European standards, with a sitting area and double bed for a very low price. You can sign on to the internet right in their office, no need to find an internet cafe or pay the fees. The breakfast was very nice and they have a coffemaker and coffee in the room if you need that extra boost first thing in the morning. There is an elevator to take you to the third floor, where the rooms and reception are located.

Written directions from train station were a bit misleading. The room is only 3 blocks from the station, but published directions may take you in the wrong direction, depending on where you exit the station. Breakfast room was a bit small and crowded at times. Proprietors were very helpful and friendly.

We Had a bad start at this hotel as the office was not open and we floundered around trying to find the place in the complex it was in. When we did find the correct floor due to language barriers we were a bit at a loss and shown into a room off the kitchen which was so dimly lit you couldnt read in it. But that was minimal compared to the state of the bed! I suffer from a bad back and literally did not get an minutes sleep the whole night. I would have been just as comfortable on the floor! My husband was also terribly uncomfortable. The next morming I was a wreak and lifted the sheets to see what the hell we were sleeping on...only to find that the mattress was literally concertinard as the springs had collapsed and what I thoght was a join up the middle was (I think)springs poking through! Subserquently we asked to be moved or we would be leaving. We were moved to a very nice room with a very comfortable bed and it was very spacious too. However it was by the front entrance and very noisey as inconciderate people arrived during the night talking loudly with little thought of others. (We stayed at a lovely B&B in Lucca that had signs on the doors asking guests to be considerate of others and to shut doors quitely and keep voices down in the hall ways. It worked 100% we never heard a thing!) Ok, the positives were..a good breakfast and it was remarkably clean..Anna does an exceptional job with both those areas. Also easy one block walk to the main Railway Station. It was very cheap for Rome and if your on a tight budget go there. If you can spend 10 to 20 Euro more there are some better alternatives very close by. If you get the bedroom off the kitchen RUN to the nearest exit!!!

Iam a Ph.D.(Historian)coming to Rome to fulfill a part of my research. The visit at La Casa di Amy was much more rewarding to my Rome tripthan it otherwise would have been.

Our late arrival complecated matters. We agreed to pay $15 Euros extra for arrival after 10p.m. Internet map showed limited detail.Street was very dark and signs on corner of buildings hard to read.We were very lucky to find entrance and press the right bell to be met by a nice lady with almost no English.demanded a different room after aircond.failed.Other than that the room was adequated and the location was convenient to Termini station. The owner was out of the country and the manager was very helpful and fluent in English. She even agreed to store our luggage while we did last minute sightseeing before dashing for the airport our last day.Italy is very expensive and their rates were relatively reasonable.

Staff were great. We certainly recommend this hotel. The hotel is centrally located and near the main station from the airport, so it is only a short distance to carry your suitcase. The street is quiet and with the double glazing and air conditioning in our double room we slept well and undisturbed. Its centrally located so you can walk to all the major sights.

We had an excellent stay at La Casa di Amy starting with a very nice and professional welcome. Added to that, I would stress on the quality and choice of the breakfast served. Really, there is nothing negative about this B&B. The location is the station so this is not the best part of Roma (like any other big city) but still extremely convenient to easily access the airport by train. I highly recommend this B&B and would definitely return when visiting Roma next time.

Excellent, very friendly and helpful staff. We only stayed overnight, but would have no hesitation in and staying again at this hotel. We had to be at the airport early but managed to see most of the major sights and slept OK Would remember to switch off the aircon at night though, as it can be noisey, but that is nothing to worry about.

I ordered this B&B because I trusted all the comments I found from the other people. They were very positive. I'm not disappointed at all ! Nice welcoming, Nice rooms, nice people, nice breakfast ... Also the location is very good, you just have to walk 5 minutes and you are near the main station in Roma(termini Station) where you can catch a train or take the underground, (line A : visit of the Colosseo, citta del vaticano, Fontana di Trevi etc). I would definitively go back to this place !

This place was absolutely great! It was within our budget, and we picked it because of the good reviews it had. We were not disappointed. It is close to the train station and all the major tourist sites. When we go back to Rome we will stay here again! The only thing we would have liked them to have is a phone in the bedrooms. Also it would be nice if there was a refrigerator to put beer in.

Overall the stay at La Casa di Amy was very satisfying. We arrived early, so we had to wander around before being allowed to check in. The room was located about a block from the watch shop of La Casa di Amy, it was very easy to find, and just a few minutes from Termini. The room was smaller than we thought, but it didn't bother us. There was a fridge, air conditioner, and coffee/tee making facility, all worked very well. Our room was located facing the courtyard and hence it was very quiet. The room was located in an apartment with 4 rooms, and the living room was used as the breakfast room. The breakfast was served rather late, 8-9.30 am. On the day when we had to leave early to the Vatican, breakfast was prepared for us the day before and left in the fridge of our room. The service was good overall, although not perfect. One day after the towels were replaced one towel was forgotten as a result for two nights one of us had no bath towels. The second incident was that we ran out of toilet paper and it was not refilled even though we had left a note there reminding the cleaning staff. The next day we left a much larger note on the bathroom mirror and then only it was refilled. We also mentioned that we were leaving very early on the day of departure, although a packed breakfast was promised for us it was simply forgotten. Other than these minor incidents the stay was overall satisfying, since we also paid the discounted price in August. I'd recommend La Casa di Amy to anyone who wants to be close to Termini, and for those who go to Rome in August who need good air conditioning for a good night sleep!

We were thoroughly satisfied with our stay at the B&B Casa di Amy. We have no idea why other travelers haven't been as happy as we were. Yes, the area is not "perfect", but it is not dangerous and is only two blocks from the metro and train station. Additionally, there is a slew of spicy Mediterranean food to choose from, just steps from the front door of Casa di Amy, should one wish to deviate from the normal Roman cuisine . This is to say nothing about the spectacular service and friendly help we received from the owners and their employees. We will recommend this establishment to any and all of our friends, and we will most certainly stay there again when we return to Rome in the future.

Was delighted find a clean, comfortable and modern room. Was concerned that I faced the main street but had no problem with noise. Very convenient location for train and bus access. Good selection of breakfast items and, while I love cappuccino, I really enjoyed having a "real" cup of coffee with breakfast. (Only criticism: Breakfast should be made available at 7:30 a.m. for those of us who prefer getting an early start to the day.) Friendly and helpful staff. Free internet available in reception office. Great value for the price. Highly recommend.
