Best place to stay in Rome - 3 minutes from Termini Station, you can walk all around the main places in Rome by foot - I didn't use the metro at all, was on foot even in Vatican (55 minutes). Area is quiet, not so dirty. Breakfast is always the same but much to eat - croissants, biscuits, toasts, jams, milk, cereals, juice, coffe, tea. Owners are really nice. Rooms are so clean and have fridge, tv, hair dryer, towels, bath amenities. All was really good.

The room suited our purposes and was an acceptable price. This is a four bedroom B&B with an absentee staff so you are on your own. We had to make special arrangements to meet the owners and pay for the room. We never saw them agin for the four nights we were there. However they left a receipt In the room and were very accommodating about buying a little alarm so we would wake up in time to make our flight home. There are no phones in the room and bums dumpster dive in the road in front of the apartment building . If you are flexible with low expectations this is a good choice.

Overall everything is excellent - 8mins walks from train station, spacious room, great breakfast, free kitchen access and good Wifi and tv. But the location - the neighbourhood - is not very good.

Eterna Roma was a very pleasant stay. Our room was clean and spacious and it was well-located (close to two metro stations Termini and Vittorio Emmanuelle) and out of the craziness of the core centre. It's by no means a beautiful area of Rome, but we felt safe. Our room was not ready when we arrived which was disappointing after the tiring trip there. The breakfast is very stale and boring, but it's nice to have access to a kitchen. The walls between rooms are very thin. I wouldn't return to this hotel myself, but I wouldn't deter potential guests from staying there either.

Good value for the money when taken in European context. Don't try to compare this to an American hotel, though. Very clean and modern room. Whisper quiet A/C and plenty of hot water Small as to be expected for Europe. Extremely convenient to Termini train station and a pleasant walk to the Colosseum. Even though it's in the middle of China/Korea/India/Arab town, felt reasonably safe walking, even at night. Doors to access the room are vault-like. Only real gripe was that the bed was hard as a rock. I'm not talking firm...I'm talking body-numbing hard! Good communication between myself and management leading to check in. Francesca requires you to let her know ahead of time so she can be there to greet you. Breakfast was Spartan, but plenty of places to eat around the neighborhood. All in all, a positive experience except for that hard bed.

We stayed at Eterna Roma for five nights and, overall, were delighted and would definitely consider Eterna Roma were we to visit Rome again. It was ideally situated for transport from the airport, as it is 5 minutes walk from Termini train station. This was also handy for the metro to get to the Vatican. All other attractions are within walking distance. The colosseum was only 10-15 mins walk. We had a lovely continental breakfast provided for us each morning. The area is not the nicest area, compared to places like the Spanish Steps, for example, but we felt perfectly safe walking about day and night. The staff were lovely. However, I gave a slightly lower rating on this for two reasons. The first was when we arrived there was no-one at the property (the owners do not live there - all accommodation is for guests). This was slightly worrying, having just arrived and not knowing where we were. It was 10.30pm but I indicated in the booking that we would be arriving at roughly this time. Fortunately I had my mobile and called the owner and she was there within 5 minutes to let us in. The second reason I marked down the service was because after we arrived we unpacked and then went out to get something to eat. While out I received a text (this is now 11pm) to say that we would have to move rooms the following morning. Although not a major hassle as we didn't have alot of things, being there for only 5 nights, it meant we were later leaving than we would have liked the following morning. We had planned to leave early to try to beat the queue at the Vatican. However, we were about 30 mins later leaving which meant we had to queue a bit longer at the Vatican. These weren't major problems just minor irritations, but I felt I should mention them to give a fair review. Overall, we were delighted with the accommodation itself and the proximity to all the attractions. I would recommend Eterna Roma to other travellers without hesitation.

Although the hotel surroundings are not really good, the hotel is clean, room was really spacious and clean, with a good private bathroom. Breakfast is not really “served” until 10am - you have to prepare you own breakfast (they provide milk, butter, bread, coffee, jelly, choco). There were not enough recipients to warm the milk and no microwave, so we had to wash a recipient for us. A really drawback is that they do not accept any credit card and you have to pay in cash for the whole stay immediately when arriving. Also, it was difficult to find it at night. We could not find anyone that gave us accurate information about the address. So if you plan to arrive at night, make sure you have a map. And always ask for Piazza Fanti and not PIAZZA MANFREDO FANTI , as no one seems to know the complete name of this square.

This place was great. Centrally located. We went walking a lot at night and felt totally safe. We had laundry done down the road, a bit pricey but it was even 13 years ago. The grocery store next door had great prices on beer and wine.
