Maurice welcomed us to his B&B. His family/quad room was shown on the Internet & it was perfectly stated. It was very secure & safe. He offered us a very nice continental-style breakfast with coffee & juice, lovely pastries, bread & jam with daily maid service. The B&B is located near the Vatican in a quiet neighborhood on Bus Route (Line A) #81 & the Metro (Line A) is a short walk. Very easy to get around Rome. I would defintely stay there again.

The location was the best quality of this hotel. The Vatican was literally a couple of blocks down the street. The building, for Rome, was considered to be for middle to upper class living. I was surprised by how small the room was. The picture on line gave the impression of a much bigger room. This was a B&B so there were no amenities (i.e. pool, restaurant, gym, and no WIFI service for the computer and only one american television station). One personal touch they did was serve breakfast to your room every morning if you like, but we opted to dine out. The staff was very helpful and kind.

The breakfast was just jam and breads, but it was a good starter. The hotel is very convenient to all of the tourist sites, especially Vatican City. We had a quad room. It was small for four, but comfortable. Our host were very knowledgeable about how to get around. They do prefer cash. The location is in a palazzo(residential square) where you need a key to get into the square after hours, a key to get into the b&b and a key for your room - very secure. And it seems to be in a quiet(for Rome) area. Market nearby for fresh fruit and no shortage of places to eat. Tip- eat inside instead of on the street, it will cost less. We were charge 1-3 Euros each for sitting out side (cover charge) and nothing extra for eating inside a restaraunt.

The location was great!! We had some troubles tryig to find the hotel. When we arrived, the admiistrator received us, he seemed nice However, after explaig us some addresess, he inmediatly ask us about the payment, my dad show the credit card and then he said that he did not have a system, so we were ask to pay inmediatly all in cash (almost 650 euros, that we did ot have so we had to change the dollars that we had at some bank) as we were 6 people stayif for 3 nights. We understood as qe have to leave a credit card umber that we can actually pay with credit card.. what tourist goes around 650 euros in cash?? it is insane. More over, as we entered into our room, we read some ifo that says that we should pay when leaving. The breakfast was poor and too sweet (jelly, croisant with jelly and coffee)

Very nice place to just put your bags, sleep, have breakfast and spend the day touring around Rome. Close to the Vatican and easy to get transportation to other parts of the city. It's expensive if compared to other cities of Europe but not when comparing to other Rome accomodations. Very friendly staff.

We spent 3 days at the beginning of April, it proved to be an excellent choice as there was not too much crowd in the city. B&B Center of Rome is a perfect accomodation for young couples, with nice surroundings, good public transport to city centre. Only few restaurants in the neighborhood. Mr. Primavera, the owner of the facility is friendly and helpful.

This was our first stay in the B&B The Center of Rome and won´t be our last (if we ever return to Rome). The B&B is located in one of the best quartiers of Rome in one of the high-class shopping streets. A supermarket,a grocery shop and many restaurants and bars are nearby. Public transport is also excellent (Bus 81 will bring you to all major sites/sights of Rome). As scheduled, the owner welcomed us warmly at our arrival and held much important information for our stay (bus, supermarket, city map, restaurants nearby). Our room was faced to the courtyard, very quiet (except for the little child in the flat above) and nicely furnished. Breakfast was served in our room, containing cornetti, toast and cappuccino etc. Altogether, we enjoyed our stay very much in this B&B and can highly recommend this accomodation.

The place was very quiet, safe, and clean. B&B itself was small, but if you are comfortable at a small intimate place rather than a huge hotel, like me, then you'll love it. The location was perfect for sight seeing the city especially for those who wish to see around Vatican. 5 min walk to the entrance of Musei Vaticani. Sweet! The stuff at the desk was very kind and helpful, spoke English well. In the morning, we could hear people talking and working outside our room (so, ours were heard too??). Simple and cute breakfast (ask it anytime between 8-10am). We happened to find a restaurant near this B&B called Lingua Lunga (one street north to the B&B?? not sure), where they had really good pizza. Love it. The street this B&B is located seemed fairly main-street-like, and the place is so-so easily found, but no sign outside and you'll need to go through the big door to get into the suite 'E' through a little courtyard.

I was a mum travelling with adult daughter and teenage son to research wives of Claudius, we shared a three bedded room. It was very convenient for the Vatican and in a pleasant area which felt safe. The proprietor and his wife were extremely helpful and pleasant. The room was very warm on cold winter evenings and despite advertising as a shared bathroom the shower and toilet were ensuite. We had a great time exploring Rome for the three days of our stay and found our room a great retreat to return to. We walked everywhere to all the famous sites none of which were too far away. The breakfasts were continental and were generous.

Reserved room with Credit Card, but they want payment in Cash/Euro when you arrive. This was a great place to stay. It is on a major road for shopping and just around the corner to the Vatican. The parking was on the street (no problems), after circling a couple of times, but better than paying 22 euro in the garage. WILL STAY HERE AGAIN.

Fantastic B&B!!! We are a family of 4 and finding a reasonable "European" hotel is the key to our travels. After long internet searches I finally came across this B&B. We require a quad room and for 120 Euros a night it is a very good deal. The quad room comes with its own bathroom and a standard European breakfast. Crossants, coffee, juice and milk. The room and bathroom were very clean and the beds were comfortable. The beds consist of one queen and two singles. Once you go through the entrance from the street you will walk into a beautiful entryway & courtyard. There should be a porter in little office to direct you to the front door of the B&B. The owners are very friendly. They respond to your emails very quickly. They do speak English as well as everyone else in Rome. They are ready to answer any questions you have and are helpful to anything you need to know about the city. They will take credit cards but prefer cash. Transportation to this B&B is very convenient. Bus #81 is right outsideand takes you to all the major sites (Coloseo, Circo Massimo, etc.). If you walk out onto the street, straight ahead and left (Northwest) 3 blocks is the Ottaviano Metro stop. To the left (West) 3 blocks is the Vatican. Very convenient. In the surrounding blocks of the B&B are an International market, another market that sells fresh fruits, veggies, and shelf milk if you have little ones. There is also a Pharmacy across the street. I highly recommend this B&B to all travelers! Enjoy!

The Center of Rome was a delight. The staff were helpful and accomodating, they even held our luggage at the end of our stay. Every morning we peeked our heads out of our room door and they would immediately bring us juice, coffee, and assorted pastries. The room was huge and very clean. The location was within walking distance to many shops and Vatican City. We highly recommend staying there, a bargain for the price!

The reason it is hard to find is that as Americans we are used to street signs- but in this area the names of the streets are carved into the buildings- once we realized that we did much better. Also, the locals don't necessarily know the street names, so they can misdirect you. The management was very accommodating to our schedule and we wish we had more time to stay at The Center of Rome. mucho grazie, Rose, Carol and Eddie

This B&B exceeded our expectations in location, accommodation and staff. I don't see how we could do better in Rome. Some of the rooms can hear street noise when windows are open. We liked the sounds, but could bother others. Definitely on our list for future visit.

This must have originally been an apartment which has been converted into a tiny reception area and four bedbrooms. The B&B was set in a lovely courtyard, the bedrooms were very adequate with air conditioning and double glazing. The breakfast was brought to your bedroom and was very good. The situation of the B&B was excellent for shops and the Vatican was 5 minutes away. We found an excellent restaurant nearby on the street leading to Lepanto metro ( i think the street was via M Colonna). I would say that the B&B was equal distance between Lepanto and Ottaviano metro stations. There was also excellent lunch available at the delicatessen on the opposite corner to the B&B.

We had an interior room facing the courtyard, so it was very quite. The staff was friendly and the location is convienant. The 8am breakfast is to late. If you want to get into the popular sites then you will probably be long gone by 8am. The room is very small even by European standards. There was no internet. The website and the signs in the hotel stated that they accepted credit cards. We recieved an e-mail 3 days before our arrival that said they 'prefered' cash. I replied that I would be paying credit. When it came time to pay, they refused my credit card and told me that there were 'bankomatics' around the corner. This is dishonesty and shady. I would not recomend this hotel.

I travelled with my nephew to Italy and needed to find inexpensive, but clean and comfortable places to stay. Bed and Breakfast seemed to be the way to go. The Center of Rome was perfect for our needs, with perhaps the exception of the noise level. Our room was on the entry level floor. I prefer to sleep with windows open, the noise was a bit of hinderence. Other than that, completely charming...

Trevelled as a group of 7 for a sightseeing trip. The Centre of Rome was an ideal base for us, very close to the Vatican. A bit of a walk to the other major sights, but that was our choice we could have chosen somewhere more central. It is in a lovely courtyard off a shopping street but we were never bothered by any noise. The staff were friendly and extremely helpful, offering to recommend restaurants and arranging taxis for us. We used 2 rooms - 4 in one and 3 in the other - and had plenty of space, the rooms were also very clean and the beds comfortable. With only a few rooms I can understand why they do not have a separate breakfast room and it was quite nice to have breakfast brought to our room. The Centre of Rome is what it is, if you want something fancy then go somewhere else, but do you go to Rome to look at the inside of an hotel. As a clean comfortable base I would have no hesitation in recommending it.

This B&B has many positive attributes: the service, location, and price were all good to excellent, but were overshadowed by one of the most uncomfortable beds I've ever slept in, and lots of noise from both the street and other guests. Good for a short, cheap stay in Rome.

The only quiet rooms are located on the patio side. Due to the lack of thermostatic valve on radiator, it was cold or too hot and dry air. This comment about central heating is only applicable for Rome cold season.

We also had a wonderful stay there! a very personal place - 5 rooms in an appartment in a special building with a beautiful, silent courtyard in a shopping street. close to the vatican, a market-hall, good restaurants (not overpriced) and the metro (we took a 1 week ticket for metro and buses, that´s a good deal, if you also want to go to ostea antica). the owners and the staff are very friendly and helpful! i liked to talk too them- especially to mauro and carla - in italian. tip: if it´s posible take a room to the courtyard - it´s more quiet.

The public area was very small. There was no chance to interact with whoever else may have been staying there because there was no room for more that one party to be in the lobby at a time. The locations is very confusing and unless it is better explained, you don't know where it is. We were told when we checked in that they would be willing to keep our luggage from check out until our train(5:00) but the owner balked when the time came. The luggage is just piled in the lobby. The door man/caretaker for the main building was very nice. The rooms were really too small for 3. However, the location can't be beat! The only reason I would not return is that we usually travel as 3 or more. If we were to return as a couple, we would consider this.

The Center of Rome exceeded all expectations. From the moment we were greeted by Mauro (The Proprietor) we knew we were going to be happy. The Room was spotless, roomy and with its own bathroom and unlike other destinations, very few stairs. Although breakfast was not lavish, it was far more than just acceptable and later we discovered it to be typically Italian. Breakfast was made up of Croissants, Melba Toast, Fresh Bread, Various Spreads, Juice, Tea and Real Espresso. The Center of Rome is in a great part of town, close to many shops, Restaraunts and a supermarket. Mauro was fantastic, although his English was limited he made quite an effort to communicate with us and provide us with excellent directions. On departure he assisted in carrying our baggage to the Taxi and even ensured that the Taxi driver did not over charge us. Saving us nearly 20 Euro on our arrival taxi fare. If you are looking for accomodation for a family of 4, within walking distance to the Vatican and many other of Romes attractions, then look no further. When we return to Rome in a few years we will definitley stay here again. The van der Wolde Family. Australia.

This is very good deal and an excellent location if visiting the Vatican will be a major part of your trip. You can easily walk to St. Peters or the Vatican Museum in 5-10 minutes. This is really important because both open at 8AM and there are almost no lines before 9AM. After that the tour groups arrive and not only will you waste time in line, you have to deal with the crush of people. The property is VERY NICE with large clean and comfortable rooms. The neighborhood is a fairly upscale and very safe. You enter from the street into a lovely courtyard and the rooms are on the 1st floor, 1/2 flight up. But be prepared, this is not an Hotel or a more traditional B&B. It is a collection of nice rooms in a nice building. A lady comes every day from 7 to 12 to make breakfast (Coffee, juice, rolls, and yogurt which she brings to your room on a tray)and clean the rooms. You also pay her in cash on the day you leave. The owners will have someone meet you when you arrive and give you the keys(so be sure to either e-mail or call to confirm the time). But, although the are very pleasant they aren't much help with anything. The have no maps or local information. When I asked what my options were to park our car they smiled and said "It will be a problem" and could tell me nothing. So if you need information come prepared. You can get everything off the internet. Buses are the best way to get around but a cab from the Pantheon for 4 will only cost between 7 & 9 euros depending on time and traffic. As far as parking is concerned, you have two options. There are no parking garages anywhere near but there is a large parking garage in Rome near the Villa Borghese/Via Veneto if you want the car inside. You can also park it on the street. There are a lot of "Blue" parking spaces on the street all around the area. You may have to circle a bit until one opens but many in the area are only 1 euro/hr from 8AM to 8PM and free all night. We went down each morning and put in 12 eu

The manager Andrea was at first very helpful, but when we requested another room after three sleepless nights on a lumpy bed, it took them two more days to move us. So small, it feels cramped and there being no communal area meant you felt that there wasn't enough room to relax. We chose it, because of it's location and for that I give it full marks 10/10.

A nice apprtment style set of rooms with breakfast just minutes from the Vatican. Morning staff not very good with English so be prepared with an Italian phrase book but they are pleasant and helpful to work out your needs and wants. Owner speaks English and is very helpful. Rooms are ten minute walk to metro stops (Lepanto and Ottaviano). Be prepared to pay cash for the rooms. Parking is difficult to obtain nearby. Rooms are in a appartment building on a shopping street in a neighborhood not overgrown with tourists so it gives a glimpse of roman daily living. The A/C worked well and was vital for our stay in the July heat. All in all a comfortable situation for visiting the Vatican. We were very pleased.

At The Center of Rome was one of our best hotels on our 3-week trip to France & Italy. The room had air-conditioning, which was a wonderful relief. An excellent location and building. Our stay was spoiled by the owner telling us breakfast was available from 8 til 10 then not turning up until after 8.30. The second day we had to use a local cafe for breakfast as the owner was unable to turn up (he had to take his mother to hospital). He did supply vouchers. On our last day we had to leave early and he offered to come in at 7.30 but at 8.10 there was no sign of him so we had to leave without breakfast. During our 4 day stay the towels and sheets were not changed and a loose toilet seat was not repaired. Despite the above, because of the location, we would consider staying there again.

1. When booking was made I had to type my credit card number - but nevertheless I had to pay the rooms cash. There has been no advice on that on my booking confirmation - I feel this is irritating. You should improve the form of payment to direct credit card payment. 2. Double room has had air condition, single room not. This is not fair to a single customer who has to pay more for a room - and it is really hot in Rome though...
