The place was better than advertised. The location was very central, only about 5 blocks from the termini and within walking distance of the central historical district and right next to Metro stations. There was a beautiful balcony overlooking the street and several very nice cafe's in the area. The staff was very friendly and helpful. The room looked very newly remodeled and was beautiful. We loved it and plan on staying there next time we go to Rome.

The hotel offer a mini-bar. The bar is useless without electricity. The electricity works only when you let the card for the door lock inside. But you have only this one card. So, if you go out, the electricity doesn' t works.

Termini is the most convenient location if you don't have the necessary budget to move around by taxi. If you have enough for that, then try to get a hotel aroud the river promenades or in Trastevere. Around Termini you will profit from the fact that every second bus you see goes to or comes from Termini, so you won't have to learn about local transportation and will save money for better restaurants. Casa Carra is perfect if all you need is a clean room in the right temperature and a proper bath. It might not be very silent between 10AM and 1PM, due to the cleaning of other rooms, but perfectly normal. Try at least some starter words in italian, than excuse yourself before you get into english. It improves sympathy a lot and will bring the staff to your side, there and elsewere as well.

A very odd system, in which I never saw anyone in reception from day one till the morning I left, four days later. My towel wasn't changed, though it had blood on it. My TV didn't work. But when the shuttle to the airport failed, the owner was extremely helpful, going out of his way to serve. I liked the location - lively and fun. I've usually stayed at the Vatican end. Oh, and it is not 150 metres from Termini as the website says, but a whole Metro stop, or 12 minutes walk. Fine, but not with all your luggage. It advertises breakfast, but this is a ticket to the bar next door which provides only a coffee and croissant.

Casa Carra is not far from train station (Roma Termini) but the street area is a bit dicey. Breakfast at the little bar next door was great. Germanno, his daughter and Enzo were very nice. They even kept our luggage after we checked out (with intent to return 5 days later) while we toured other cities. We had a bit of a noisy room because it faced the street but we were too tired at the end of everyday to let it bother us. The elevator does not work but we were on the 1st floor so not really an issue. The rooms are European size so don't be surprised and expect the type of American style hotel rooms. For the price this was right for us.

We were very warmly welcome by Mr. Enzo. Everything was as expected according to the web page. Enzo and Germano were very helpful any time we needed anything. They were very practical and efficient. I would only suggest that they should improve the breakfast service. It is in a bar next door, just a coffe and milk or a capuccino or milk with a piece of pastry what they call " cornetto", very poor to start a tiring day. Besides the waitress and waiters are not very professional. If tou want toast and butter or a squeezed orange juice, you have to pay extra. In this case I prefer to choose where to have my breakfast.

This was the first time we had stayed at this B&B. Convenient location (7 min walk) to Roma Termini trainstation if you're travelling by rail on to other destinations. The major sightseeing attractions are all easily accessible using the Metro system. A basic breakfast of coffee/tea with a croissant was available from the cafe downstairs.

Hard to find at first. You can walk from Termini but it takes about 15 minutes, or you can spend 15 minutes by metro for 1 stop. Nice room and bathroom, AC, TV, cleaned daily. Breakfast at bar next door, internet cafe next door, near metro, 10 min walk to Colosseum. Located at 1st floor with key & key card access. Make sure to communicate when you will arrive because office is not 24/7 and they will wait for you to get there.

We were there during May for a week and we really liked it. The rooms are secure, very clean, tidy and cleaned every day. The best thing is the location of Casa Carra, it's near to Termini (walk distance), it has subway station on two minutes and it's near to historical part of Rome. There are few good places near where you can site and have a dinner. There is pharmacy on the other side of the street. We used the subway only to go to the vatican city and the other days we were walking so the location is really great. Employees are not speaking good English so it was hard to ask them about directions and other things. Breakfast was nothing special, it's coffee with croissant. About the payment if you want to pay with a credit card you have to go to one restaurant at Piazza della Repubblica. Cheers!

The Bed & Breakfast is ok if you are going to spend most of your time out and about. There are no English Channels on the television and to use the internet you have to go to the lobby room to connect your laptop to an Ethernet cable. The attendant, Germano, told us that we could pay with our credit card but it had to be done at a restaurant in another part of the city. This was not very convenient. He also said that we could get a free lunch or dinner at the same restaurant. When we got there the guy from the restaurant looked at us like we were crazy for asking. Turns out Germano lied and there was nothing for free. That was very shady on his part and we will not be returning here due to his lack of character.

We had a room on the first floor. There was hardly space between the end of the bed and the wall which made moving around unpleasant. The bathroom had a glass ceiling which was very dirty. The worst thing was the terrible sewage smell that came from the bathroom after taking a shower. It was simply unacceptable. Also, the walls need to be painted badly. The room was everything but pretty. We asked for a quiet room, however we were given a room on the 1st floor which had windows to the street and was very noisy.

The front doors would not open with our key. There isn't always someone at the desk so if you can't get in with your key you have to wait for someone else to arrive or call the owner. We asked for a new key and the desk clerk took us downstairs, he jiggled the lock and after was able to open the door after some time and told us the key was fine. But when we tried it infront of him we still couldn't get it to work. He treated us as though we were incompetent, when even he also had trouble with the lock. Finally he gave us another key, which also did not work very well. But we gave up and just made sure we came back the next day before the desk clerk had left.

Arriving after dark, I found it very difficult to locate Casa Carra. There is absolutely no sign on the front of the building, and the street number is smudged, dark, and unlit. Since I was traveling solo and dragging a big suitcase, this was very annoying. Then, once I located the address, I buzzed to be let in, but I had to wait a long time for the tiny elevator only to be told once I finally arrived that THERE WAS NOT ROOM FOR ME AT THAT LOCATION; I HAD TO GO BACK DOWN AND WALK ANOTHER 3 MINUTES AWAY!!! Incredibly annoying! Why could the receptionist not come downstairs to me and perhaps help with one of my bags? Also, they tried to insist upon keeping my passport during my entire stay as security. I flatly refused. To check out in the early morning, I had to reverse the entire process since there was no recpetion at the building where they sent me. Then, they had to go through huge contortions to give me change (they accept cash only, no credit cards). In short, the room was lovely but not worth the headaches! Maybe if you are traveling with another person who can wait on the street with your luggage while you jump through their hoops, it would be okay. Otherwise--run away from Casa Carra.

Nice to stay there for three nights. We were accomodated in new apartments on Leopardi st. Very near to Casa Carra-the opposite side of block of flats. Rooms are completelly new. Nice bathroom, aircondition in bedroom, TV. Everything very clean. Close to Termini station. Vittorio Emanuele metro station about 200m. Colosseo 15-20 minutes walk. The staff is very helpfull. The payment by card was announced "is possible, but..." so we had to pay cash. Nevertheless we were really satisfied there. We can recommend it with no doubt.

It was truley amazing! I feel so proud of myself for finally choosing this B&B in particular because honestly, it was really worth it! I thought it would be much worse but the rooms really were impressive! I'd recommend it to anyone I know going to Rome.. for a short stay or even a longer one! Finding it isn't difficult, but it just isn't obvious because it's INSIDE an apartment building and there aren't big flashing signs outside. But once you have the street right, finding the number of the building isn't difficult at all.. Its location is wonderful too.. one station away from the main station! Didn't find a difficulty in moving around. If I visit Rome again, I'd still pick Casa Cara.

We are a couple and stayed three nights in the B&B Casa Carra in the spring 08. The accomondation is situated in the second floor of the building. You are given three different keys and one keycard to get from the street to your room so it felt very safe place to us. The service in the reception was extremely polite and a good enghlish was spoken. The room looked like just renovated, everything was clean and in order. The bathroom was also very tidy and there came hot and cold water well. The location was very convinient, as almost all the places worth seeing in Rome are in a walking distance. The breakfast was in the bar downstairs. It wasn't very much, only a coffee and a croissant, but more delicious cakes etc. you can buy from the bakery on the other side of the street :) We recommend B&B Casa Carra very much, next time in Rome, we book there again!

Other than that, the hotel seems satisfactory. Rather near to train station, security facilities is good (need to go through 3 doors which will be locked at night before you get to the hotel), room is spacious and air conditioned. Breakfast is just at the bar below the rooms. Room facing the road can be rather noisy at night. So if you are a light sleeper, can be rather annoying. Will recommend it to young couples looking for budget rooms with private bathroom facilities.

The hotel is in a good location, between the train station and the colessium, so you won't need a cab. The rooms were small but clean. The street itself is relatively dirty (but safe) - like most streets in Rome. The staff were friendly. The breakfast was a crossaint and a coffee in a cafe next door. All up though a reasonable hotel for a good price.

Great location near the train station and metro (though not a particularly nice area). The welcome was a little sketchy, as the hotel has no marking or signs. We found the building at the street address and was gruffly told to go to the second floor. After waiting for a few minutes, someone finally opened the door and we entered the "hotel" proper. Casa Cara is actually two wings of a building, but the inside is neat and well kept. The rooms were spacious and clean. Breakfast was weak (its just a pastry and coffee at the bar next door) but for basing excursions around Rome, Casa Cara is great - the price wasn't bad either. The only negative, other than the check in process, is we wish there was a hair dryer in the room.

Excellent location, very close to Termini train station & Colosseum; clean and comfortable room. Just beware of street noise, almost non-existent "breakfast" part (croissant & coffee at the bar downstairs)and be prepared to pay cash - they will tell you that credit card machine doesn't work.

the room was very big, and clean , and Casa Carra was quite close to the metro, bus station, and 20 minutes walk from the coliseum. it was the first time that we went to a bed and breakfast and we didn't regret it. it was the best choice we could possibly make.

This was one of the best "bed and breakfast" hotel in my life. In the heart of the city, 10 minutes walking from Colosseo, 1 minute from undergrand station.

This place has changed hands since I stayed in 2003. It is getting a little (probably not noticable to others!) nibbled/ragged about the edges. I was sad that the formerly wonderful breakfast was now just a pastry and espresso immediately downstairs. Previously the Turkish owners also had a place within the colonnade on the W side of P.zza della Repubblica. They had all manner of nice pastries, fresh juice, etc. AND it was lovely to sit outside and watch all the activity in the Piazza. Sigh! The place is a good value. Personnel are prefunctory at best. Difficult to know which of two bells to push when first arriving. No indication as to which floor one should get off the elevator on . . . Don't fret! it's the first piano/floor. The rooms are modern and quite handsomely appointed. Windows overlooking the busy street below are great fun. No English on the television -=- IF that's important to you . . .
