Aries is not a full service hotel. It offers clean rooms at a good price and is convenient to the bus, metro, and train stations. We were able to get around easily from the hotel to anywhere in Rome we wanted to go. Three buses stop within 50 meters of the entrance, the trick is to find the entrance. Once we located Aries our stay there was excellent. When looking for the sign, appreciate that it is not big or in neon, just a regular business sign by the entryway.

If you're on a budget this is a great find. It's in a great location and is clean, friendly and safe. Very good value for money. Simple breakfasts, but as much as you'd like and very nice accommodating staff. The only down side was that our shower was slightly random and sometimes hot water would cut in and out. Also, there was a fridge in our room that was a bit noisy.

A bit pricey for what we got, but we paid full price. The room, with ensuite, was clean and had everything but was not first class. Fairly quiet, good bus links to Termini, and keys supplied. A bit difficult to find. Breakfast was not great - packaged precooked toast and croissant, but they were very friendly and helpful.

We were absolutely satisfied with Aries! It is a very very nice B&B in the centre (close to Republic square). It is run by a mother & doughter, who are very kind and helpful if you need anything. We had a double bedroom with shared bathroom. Both are super clean and nice. The room had a TV, wifi, a sink and an aircondition. It seemed that there was nobody else with own bathroom so we basically had a private bathroom :) (which is also great). The only negative we found were breakfests, which are only sweet and each day the same. But thats nothing compared to the overall high quality of this accommodation. For that price it is an excellent B&B. I truly reccommend it to you!! Enjoy your stay in Rome!

We came back into Rome a week later and stayed again in this small B&B. We had a different room, but again - we found the ensuite doubleroom matched all our needs. I repeat my comments from the previous stay: We read the comments beforehand and so had the right expectations for when we arrived. However, it was a pleasant surprise to find the ensuite doubleroom extremely clean, with a decent TV and excellent aircon! The bathroom was also everything we needed. I think this little B&B is perfect for a stopover in Rome. Granted, the breakfast is terrible, but if you don't mind that, it is a good deal. Also, you're given your own keys so you can do whatever you want - I liked the feeling that I was in an apartment and free to come and go as I wished. The location is ideal for Rome Termini main station, you can walk there in 15mins with your bags. And we also managed to walk to the Vatican from the hotel, so it can be done! Thank you. :-)

This was our first time in Rome and we were there only one night so we were looking for something affordable, close to the Termini Station. After reading many horror stories about overbooked or dishonest hotels on online forums, I was a bit nervous to make the reservation, but the Aries was great. Super clean, quiet, safe. Large bathroom with large towels and lots of super-hot water. Large, comfortable bed and pillows. The elevator is very small, so it could barely fit 2 of us and all our luggage, but it was much appreciated. The only disappointment was the included breakfast (prepackaged rolls and crackers), but we had been warned by other reviewers on Venere! A note to ignorant travellers like us: if you intend to take the city bus from or back to the Termini station, you have to buy a ticket before boarding the bus. You CANNOT PAY CASH INSIDE THE BUS and if you get caught you have to pay a 50 euro fine each person.

Aries was an ideal choice for two female college students looking for a budget hotel with high standards of cleanliness. We had a room with a shared bathroom but since the hotel was mostly empty during our stay we had the entire very clean and spacious bathroom essentially to ourselves. The hotel was very quiet, but again this may be related to the small size of hotel and guests. Not sure why this was as the hotel was more than we expected for what we paid. It's a little walk to the metro and from the train station but certainly not too far. Overall a great choice, would stay there again if on a similar budget!

This is a simple good hotel in a very good location (a 12-min walk or 5-min bus ride from Termini station). The rooms are smallish but comfortable and quiet. Wireless internet can be picked up in the breakfast area. Breakfast is disappointing in that besides the excellent coffee, it does not consist of anything fresh (prepackaged rolls and crackers). Also, despite the fact that this is a non-smoking environment, it seemed as if someone on the premises was smoking.

We travelled as a young couple, stayed for 4 days. The room was very spacious and clean; the bedsheets were fresh and crisp, as were the towels. The employees at the hotel were very friendly and tried to help out in any way possible. The only thing I was not happy about was the shower; the showerhead was broken so the flow of water from it was not very good at all. The area around the hotel is not very interesting but Piazza della Reppublica is about 5 minutes away and it's a great place to hang out at. I would recommend this hotel to anyone who wants something cheap but pleasant and clean.

My friend & I (27 and 26, male) were pleasantly surprised by this B&B. We arrived at Termini station & it took us under 15 mins to walk to Aries. We were welcomed by a friendly staff member who quickly booked us in & showed us around. We had booked a twin room with a shared bathroom. Perhaps we were lucky, but it was if the bathroom was our own as we did not once have to wait in the 4 nights we stayed. Also there was a sink & a mirror in our bedroom which made things easier too. Obviously this is no 5* palace, but bearing in mind the price, I doubt you'll find much better. Cleanliness was high on our agenda & we weren't disappointed. Our sheets were changed everyday & the bathroom cleaned. Only negative thing I could say concerns the breakfast. The coffee is good, the orange juice is good. However the actual food consists of a packet sugar croissant, a packet apricot tart, and packet toast! This was fine the first 2 mornings but after that I gave up. I chose to enjoy my coffee & orange juice and find food elsewhere - there are a couple of good little cafes close by (turn right on to Via Settembre & you'll soon pass one on your right hand side). Our reason for choosing Aries, apart from the price, was the location. We were able to walk to EVERY site (the Colosseum, the Pantheon, Vatican City etc etc) without too much effort! Once you find your bearings, you realise just how close everything is to each other. We were extremely lucky with the weather, so walking everywhere was enjoyable. I think if you really want to take in Rome, it's the only way to do it. If walking isn't for you, Aries has a metro station close by which is simple to work out & only 1 euro for a single journey. Last but not least, we arrived at about 2pm & needed somewhere quick for lunch as we were starving! Between our very broken Italian and the landlady's broken English, we were able to find out a good pizzeria around the corner from Aries (turn left onto Via Settembre & take 1st left)

We highly recommend Hotel Aries! We had a two night stay in Rome and and decided to stay one more night on the way back from Florence. This Hotel was great for the price and location. It was a close walk to all major sights and attractions. There was a local bus that we caught in front that took us over to Vatican City (bus 62). We also walked everywhere and found that the Hotel was easy to get to from many areas of the city. We loved that it was so close to the Termini Station. Easy walk about 10 minutes. By the way, take the train from the airport Leonardo Express 30 minutes only 11 euros than wlk to Aries...so easy. A bit of a challenge to find at night but look for the numbers on the buildings and its close to the corner..a big wood door with a sign on the right no light on it so be aware and alert. We felt very safe. The rooms were a bit noisy especially up until about 11pm. This hotel is for the traveler who uses their room to sleep & shower and go! Not a lux environment but very clean, nice hot showers and a tasty cappaccino. We were in room number 1 which was the largest room it seemed and a nice big bathroom. WE had dinner at a restaurant down the street called Andrea pizza and pasta the night we arrived and it was Awesome! Get any pasta on the menu...so good! HAve fun in ROME! Ciao!

on the main road there is no signboard indicating the hotel, at night after 8.30pm the streets are deserted and while walking one can feel unsafe. Rooms have wafer thin walls and next rooms toilets/flushing make huge noise, mattresses are put on spring beds as such beds are very soft and sagging persons with back problem must avoid. Breakfast is very poor quality of juice and bread and nothing to talk about. T.V has poor reception and few channels in ITALIAN as such those looking for English news or channel will be disappointed. Shower is for namesake only water falls in small dribble. For the price paid this is not value for money though location is excellent.

Very convenient to the Termini train station and only a 15 minute walk to the Trevi fountain. Good neighbourhood, restaurants nearby. Rooms quite adequate in size. Thanks you so much ! We had a very pleasant and romantic 4 days journey (for our 2nd anniversary of wedding) at Aries which is 20 minutes away by walk from the Colosseo and other historic sites. The bus can also pick you up in front of the suite to go Vatican (or it takes about an hour by walk - we did it!). That's right, English is not very well spoken but people are so kind and helpful that communication (with your hands if needed) is very easy and make your wishes come true ! Do not hesitate to ask for the Air Conditioning remote control at the reception !

Very clean and spacious room, excellent location, close to the train station and within walking distance to the main tourist area. The hostess does not speak english well, but is a very pleasant and polite presence. We enjoyed our stay.

While the landlord didn't speak English (as everyone else has said), she was great to deal with. Don't forget to say hello to Paulino (sp), the watch dog. Paulino makes sure that EVERYONE who enters the door pays attention to him.

The B&B is very conveniently located. The neighborhood is safe and clean. It was easy to find this hotel. The hostess is very nice and friendly. She does not speak English, but still could explain us how to get to some places etc. Her daughter speaks some English and can help. The room was big, but the bathroom looked like 'budget'. The shower was not very good and was sprinkling water all over the place (you just have to make sure your toilet sit is covered or lifted when you take a shower). Walls are thin. So, if you do not sleep well at night, noise from your neighbors' bathrooms may bother you. Other then that- it was good, and I would consider this place next time I visit Rome.

The Aries was very conveniently located just a few blocks from the central railway terminus. There were several reasonably priced restaurants in the area and we were a short walking distance from the main attractions in Rome.Although the signora did not speak much English, her daughter was more fluent and they were both very pleasant. The rooms were large enought to accomodate our bicycles. There was some bathroom noise from the other rooms , but otherwise it was very quiet. The courtyard was useful for assembling and disassembling our bikes at the beginning and end of our trip. We were also able to store a suitcase and our bikeboxes there for 3 weeks until we returned to Rome. A very enjoyable stay. We would not hesitate to recommend the Aries to friends or stay ther again.

My parents and I had a pleasent stay. We were greeted very warmly and were happy to find a hotel that was close to the main train station and the cities main sites. The room was spacious, clean and very quite. The room had a private bathroom that provided you with everything you needed for your stay. I was very pleased and I highly recommend this hotel for anyone looking for an inexpensive place that is suitable for families.

The lady who operats the place did not speak much English. Though she wanted to help, she could not. We got lost after locating the property and registering when we went to park our car. The directions were very bad. I think they should keep either a written direction or get some business card from the parking garage and give to the customers who have cars to park

Excellent choice for budget lodgings. Short 7 min walk to Termini station. Was given own keys for the main gate, the apartment and our room to come and go as we pleased. Room was better than expected. It was spacious and very quiet - had double paned windows with air conditioning - very necessary with the summer heat. Also came with mini refridgerator and TV. Beds were very firm - a luxury! Room was spotlessly clean. We chose shared bathroom, which was down the hall. It, too, was very clean at all times. Only strange thing was that our shower did not have a door. Some water splashed out onto the bath mat but it was not too bad (did not get the room wet). Breakfast of fresh croissants, coffee and juice served in the morning was nice if nothing special. Our hostess lived in on the premises in private quarters so was generally available for any questions or assistance. Would definitely stay here again next time in Rome.
