We didnt have a good start with this B&B. We arrived around 9pm, and had to call the owner as there was nobody opening the door. Then the owner told us that we need to stay at a different hotel because of some water leakage. He sent me a text message and gave me a new address. We just arrived in Rome, and we had to look for this new hotel ourselves! It turned out that we need to stay at this new hotel for 1 night, and came back to the B&B the next 2 nights. It was total confusion as he didn't explain to us what's going on and we had to find out ourselves the arrangement at the new hotel. The night at the new hotel was scary. The room is OK, but in the mid of the night, there were people coming in! Apparently there was an attic to the room, and that was somebody's permanent house. The next day we are back to this B&B. This is not really a B&B, more like a college dormitory. It's one apartment separated into 3 rooms. There was no breakfast(even though it's included in the price). Nobody came to do the beds. The drain of the shower is not working properly. So after shower, the water is everywhere on the floor. The only positive thing about this B&B is that it's close to Vatican city. But then I guess there are also other better hotel choices close to Vatican.

Breakfast didnt exist. We recieved juice boxes and twinkie like packaded pastries the first night and didnt get any breakast the following 2 mornings. We also never recieved the password to wifi and it was near to impossible to plan our trip to the bus and other excursions without it. I found wifi at a resuarant to email Albotros but they never responded. Also no air conditioning. Would not stay here again.

Room was dirty, plenty of wardrobes but they were locked and you could not put up your clothes. Breakfast was very poor and if someone was before you no breakfast was left. I think for the price this b and b was very poor and I would advise to book elsewhere for Rome for the price and quality of rooms

The front desk service does not exist. Nobosy can help with luggage (even for elder people) and there is no information available about other tours or interest points. When we paid the recepcionist didnt give us the change of our money back and then we agreed to check out at 11am next day and we waited 40 minutes for someone to give our the keys and give us back our change. Nobody appeared so we left without our change and just left the keys on the table. Nobody answered and nobody was in front desk at any time.

This is one of the hostels that deserve to have a comment to prevent hosts to go there. While it appears at first to be a decent hostel is not. It is promissed to be a B&B but the breakfast is hardly anything. The food is left at the kitchen just from time to time by the staff. Furthermore, it was only mermalade with some already cooked toasts and few biscuits. The staff hardly ever showed up to ask for help and it was hard to find them around. The cleaness of the room is probably the worst thing to mention. Although it appears clean at first, the clothes given where old and did not look totally clean. Furthermore, the next morning I woke up with my legs full of bites from an insect i suspect it was either spiders or fleas... Something, I think, a hostel should not have. DO NOT GO to this hostel.

I dream of travelling the world.. My first trip was rome and i must say i had a good stay there.. Not bad for a first time.. It made me dream of more places to visit.. The room is good considering the cost i paid for it.. Yes it is a bit noisy outside but i this everywhere is just the same.. Staffs are polite and accomodationg.. I would suggest this for those who travel in budget.. The location is great though.. It's near vatican city and there are lots of shops and restaurants within the area.. I would book with them again if i go back..

I had stayed in this property two years ago and I returned because I had found it worth it. Unfortunately this time the experience was different as the sheets in our triple bedded room were smelly (as if washed without soap or beds made with sheets still wet). In addition, there was no soap in the bathroom and to wash the dishes. Last but not less there wasn’t matches or a lighter to use the stove which made us wander around the area late at night looking for a place to buy a lighter! Staff was very helpful and about the quality I guess it applies the motto “you get what you pay for”…

I was visited Rome with my teen daughter for the first time. Actually the location was very convenient. Very close to the Vatican museum. Markets and shopping in close vicinity. Good public transport connections. In total very good price for that location... if you are ready to accept the rest. The room was probably lived for ages by an old man with appropriate stinking environment, bed etc. No fridge was working even though specified on a web page. We didn't get any breakfast in fact. It just wasn't serviced. Last but not least: very bad English.

This is a very handy B&B near the Vatican museum (200 meters) and St Peter's Basilica is about a seven minute walk away. The breakfast is self service though with just a few scones provided. Tea & coffee is offered but no milk. The bedroom was spacious, clean, quiet and contained a small fridge to store those little essentials like milk, juices, etc.. which you can buy on the corner shop. Overall, the price is fair for what you pay for! Most of your days will be spent out and about touring sites, so it's just ideal for those who are easily pleased without the trappings of wealth or luxury. Furthermore, Wilson the 'meet & greet'guy was there on time to hand over the keys. I was very happy with my stay and the directions to the hotel provided by email were spot on. Be wary though, as you enter the hallway you will see a marble staircase, 33 steps to climb before you get to the lift..not ideal if you have mobility problems!!!

It is called B&B, but breackfast is some trash cakes from a cheap supermarket. Why don't they do an agreement with a bar in the neighborhood? Apartments and bath come straight form the 40s, no manteinance ever done!

The B&B is well located for an unpretentious quick visit to the Vatican and surroundings (2 minutes to the museum gates, 7 minutes to S. Pietro). The metro station Ottaviano is 5 minutes away and there are a number of restaurants in the area, though not the most fancy or expensive ones. The apartment is pretty basic: three rooms + bathroom, a fridge and water heater on the hallway (coffee, tea and cookies make up the self-served breakfast). The furniture and facilities are old, but in a clean state (consider to bring own bedsheets or a sleeping bag, if picky). There is no luggage room, but internet was working great (UPC wireless) and the staff was friendly. The room to the street was quite loud (sleeping with the window open), but then again Rome is loud everywhere and particularly over the weekend. The price/location/quality seems fair, so I would recommend this location for a short trip to Rome (2-3 days), especially for young people who do not plan to spend too much time in the room and are happy with a basic place to sleep in for a few hours.

The breakfast is generous and you have everything at your disposal anytime because the owner refills the stocks every three days (coffe, croissants, cookies, milk, jus). Extremely hot in summer and noisy with two fans rolling + open window. One night the door has been locked so we had to wake up somebody to let us in. It was not a easy task, took us some 15 minutes of ”panic”. However - location is excellent and spring or autumn is probably better time to stay here. The hotel is located near to Vatican. But this is the only advantage. There wasn´t staff when we came but only young boy with mobile phone so we made a call to some receptionist. The hotel was in one flat, there was a hall and three rooms for three groups of guest. There was dirty table in the hall and some packeget croissantns and biscuits so you could make your brakfast. Briefly - accomodation near to the centre of Rome for young groups or unassuming guests.

This is definitely not a bed and breakfast... It is a three room apartment that has been split into accommodation for three groups of travelers. Our quadruple room was plenty of space for the four of us, and it was pretty clean. It was extremely hot in the summer, which is to be expected, but there's no a/c. We had two fans for our room, which helped a little. There is only one bathroom for all three rooms, so expect to wait for the shower (which is not clean). The "breakfast" is a packaged croissant and coffee that you can make yourself. The building is nice and safe, and you can see the Vatican Museum steps from your window, which is convenient and Ottaviano metro stop is only a 5 minute walk. Overall, it was a fine experience, but definitely not the experience described on the website.

I have been staying at this bed & breakfast for 2 weeks now due to work in Rome. It is situated on the 3rd floor and has an elevator but beware you have to walk up a flight of stairs before getting to the elevator so if you have heavy bags, it can be cumbersome but worth it. The staff is very accomodating for extra stays in that at last minute I have had to book extra nights. The only thing I can say is that there is no kitchen and therefore the breakfast is an instant breakfast with a kettle for tea or instant capuccinos and packaged crostini and croissants. This makes the b&b rather independent which can be a good thing should you want a cup of tea in the evening, it is there for your convenience. Albatross allows you to be completely independent and treats you as such. It is close to many restaurants and Via Candia is amazing for picking up food, shopping or grocery items and necessities. The Vatican is close, Piazza Risorgimento is a 4 minute walk and overall I enjoyed my stay. Plus it's above a bar\cafe so you can always eat breakfast there for 2 euros. The hot water and shower are amazing. There are tv's in only 2 of the rooms, but the internet connection is wonderful and fast. Raoul is available to help anytime and as this will be my home for two more weeks I feel rather free to come and go as I please without any hassles. Super happy!! Claudina

This is a family house turned into hotel, the rooms are spacious, with most facilities available for a night's stay, some are not brand new, but can be properly used. The biggest issue is that the heating inside the rooms are very weak, it was freezing sleeping there! Also having a shower in the bathroom can be cold, because there's no heating in the bathroom, water gets colder and colder as we take the shower... Overall the hotel should not be a bad choice to stay near Vatican for a night or 2 in warmer seasons, but personally I wouldn't recommend going there in winter.

The staff is not present on a regular basis, so it can be hard to connect, but they are accommodating and kind. You may need a mobile phone to connect and to find the right place. we stayed in a room which was quite big, but did not feel like staying in a bed breakfast. Felt like they pulled two beds for us to sleep!, Beds were very uncomfortable. There were two towels for us, each were the size of a tea towel!!! So if you decide to stay in this hotel, please take your own towel. Bathroom/toilet was very old!!! bath looked like 100 years old and it was dirty. I did not feel clean having a shower in that hotel! Even though it s advertised as bed and breakfast, what they mean by that is, there s a kettle and coffee sachets to make your coffee in the morning. thats its. usually in most places, you get a croissant! There is no reception at the hotel, so you have to inform them the time of arrival, so someone can be there to open doors, this can be a hassle as if flights/ trains get delayed!. On a positive note, location is great as it is only 5 min walk to vatican. What i am disappointed is for the price we payed, we could have stayed in a better hotel in Rome. So it not s worth the price you pay. I would not go back to this hotel even if it s 10 euros a night! To be honest, i would never go back to that hotel!

I booked a quadruple room and was given a room with a double bed and a single bed in a different location - although a better location. It was a bedroom in a 3-bed flat, sharing the kitchen and bathroom. It was very basic but the price was right. Don't expect to eat there as the kitchen is sparsely equipped, as is the bathroom. My biggest problem was lack of lighting. We had a bedside light on either side of the double bed and that was it! The bathroom had one light with a round globe that had a hole punched in the glass to accommodate a long life bulb! It's hard to believe that these places still exist. However, having said all that, we were there for a short break and did not spend time in the place, except for to sleep. The beds were surprisingly comfortable. Raul (the agent, I presume) was most helpful, very friendly and spoke very good english. I'd stay there again for a short break. You get what you pay for. The place seemed very secure and is very central.

The owner was exceedingly kind, but even so our group would most likely not stay there again. For one, two of the four members in our group were not convinced that the sheets on their beds had been properly clean. One thought her sheets smelled strongly of cologne, and the other found hairs. Beyond that, the kitchen mentioned in the listing was more of a hallway with a table, some chairs, and a coffee maker. As far as I could tell, the only sink was in the one bathroom shared by the three or four rooms within the flat. In the end, we still managed to enjoy our time in Rome, but then again we stayed out of the room for the majority of each day we were there. There are certainly worse places to stay, but we wouldn't recommend Bed & Breakfast Albatros Vittoria Vaticano to friends.

Room, bathroom, mattress, floor, chests, cabinets, blankets are EXTREMELY FILTHY. Sheets & towels are never refreshed. Room & public areas outside smelling bathroom are never cleaned up, bathroom gets "cleaned" once a day, the lady comes two, three minutes and gone is she, windows don't close, hot water is by large insufficient, the whole place is completely run douwn. Quality of sheets and towels is extremely poor. Breakfast (only tea and coffee) is bring-your-own and make-your-own. Quality of forniture, bed included, is extremely poor, mattress is impregnated with everything you can imagine. I stayed in the place 9 nights,I had to, otherwise they would charge my credit card. I DON'T RECOMMEND this filthy place to anybody. Every single Euro, Dollar or Yen you pay is one too many. This place is an ordinary apartment where the owner rents rooms. He seemed to live in one of them room, by the way. The room was more or less clean, but some furniture pretty dusty. There is a fridge, a kettle, cups, spoons, tea/coffee and sugar in the hall. The TV in the room didn't work. The furniture is pretty old. It can be noisy in the evening, because you can hear perfectly what people are saying the hall and the neighboring rooms. The bathroom is tiny, and while the sink is good, the bath looks depressing. Otherwise it is ok for the money paid, and it is situated in no more than 2 minutes from the entrance to the Vatican museums (via Tunisi leads straight up to it!).

Crumbs and dirt in the cupboads, old linnen, not really clean bathroom. The window opens to the busy street, so you really can't open it, but when closed - provides silence very good. The room is very big - but the lights are very dim (two lamps out of 6 are in order) in the evening it is imposible to see something. Couldn't notice any signes of BREAKFAST...just the electric kettle, water and instant coffee and tea. On the other hand the placement of the B&B is gorgeous. 5 min on foot to the nearest metro, 5 min to Vatican. Nice chance to spend time as a real roman citizen and total independance - you have he keys and nobody bothers you. Untidyness is the only roblem I can see.

We were traveling 2 young girls for 5 night. It was avery big and nice room. Close to the vatican but we had to take taxies every night to get to midtown. You can walk, but after a dag of walking the B&B is not very close to midtown. But We felt safe and would recomment this B&B for other people. Raul is very helpful. I forgot my passport in Denmark and he did a lot to help me get it send down to the B&B.

The price/quality rate is good. The location is good. It is easy to reach. A B&B without breakfast is strange. But for this price you can't complain.

The location of the hotel is ok, it is about 300 m from Vatican museum, near is a nice marketplace...But this is not really a hotel, but an 3 room appartement in a condominio and it has just one bathroom (with toilet, shower allthogether)and sometimes you have to share it with 7 other people!!!! It can really be a mess... A room for 2 persons is also very small. Everything is very old (the furniture, the toilet.)

This facility is ok for short holiday. We slept in a 10 square meters room (not presented in web page), breakfast was poor, but we were aware about that. We were lucky because it was not so warm during our 2 nights, but air conditioned is not provided. Bed was hard, not so comfortable.

It should be called just a 'B', not a "B & B", because breakfast consisted of instant coffee and dry biscuits, and it was self-serve!! The room was really stuffy, but opening the window brought in loud car noise as of 6 a.m. since the rooms look on to a main street, via Candia. No welcoming notes posted, only ones that told you all the rules we had to obey, printed in block letters with exclamation points. Dark and dingy foyer/ entrance; looks like it hasn't been painted in a few decades. We left after two nights to find accommodations elsewhere. For 80 Euros this seemed really unreasonable, even for Rome; I'm just glad we didn't come in high season: I can't imagine what the prices are like then...

Its perfect for young couples. From the door you could see the Vatican - Situated pefectly. Supermercato about 50 meters away, typical italian market nearby. Shared bath and kitchen. Its perfect if you just want to sleep there and then be the whole day in the city.

The room was great according to our expectations. The building was so close to the Vatican Museum that we could see the lines from our window. We were in a 5th floor with a classic elevator (those that you have to manually close the door). We brought another couple to Rome and the staff found a nice room in a nearby building. We are planning to come back and use the same services. We did not know that we can leave the baggages after checkout at 10am. It would have saved one night as we went to Rome airport late night. It was also cheaper to go by taxi (e 40) than to take metro and train. Ciao

The best thing about this B&B was Raoul, the very accommodating young man who lives on site. There is no breakfast to speak of - just a sideboard with large bags of biscuits and sugar, instant coffee, 3 tiny espresso cups and 2 electric kettles sitting in the small entry hall. If you are unlucky enough to get the small room you barely have any where to sit, let alone put your luggage, clothes and damp towels. Having said all this, the price is about as good as it gets for a central area and the rooms and shared bathrooom -if you can get into it (3 rooms with up to 9 people) were clean.

Position was excellent (10 minutes walk from Vatican), stores and market nearby. Very close to the metro station. The room was spacious and clean. The host was very nice. It is not a place for those who search 4 stars, but it's perfect for someone who want to see Rome and to have a clean place to sleep for a very good price.

DO NOT stay here if you do not have a phone to reach the man in charge. I luckily was able to get in because some other people staying in the apartment were there. I was also asked for more than I was quoted online, but ended up paying the amount quoted after I showed him my reservation. Other than that, really nice, cheap, and good location.

Very friendly and helpful staff! 'Raol' does not live at the same adress, as often is the case with b&b, but can be contacted by phone. Talks fluent english, easy to understand. But .... The labelling 'b&b' is not quite correct - should rather just be called 'bed'. And.. According to the booking we were promised a quadruple room, but got a room with a double bed and an additional camp-bed, which is not especially comfortabel for a grown up person. The windows can't shut properly - hence the noise and the natural air circulation, which definitely must be a plus in hot italian summertime, but not so good in February ... Well, however - don't want to be unkind - Raol is a very nice chap and does his best - I'm sure.

This is a great choice for people who are more looking for a private room in a private house. So this is not a hotel, but for me it is far better. You stay in a old nice house, have you own keys and can feel like you live there. The interior is nice, the room was huge (~30m^2) but again it is not a classical hotel, so don't compare that. The Bathroom was simple, but clean. The double bed was a bit old, but I could sleep very well. In overall, I will choose to take it again when I come back to rome and other people I met paid more for a not so nice room in a not so good area (yes it is really 300m to the entrance of the vatican museum, you can see the city wall from your window if you look to the right hand side).

After paying my bill, I have got a "receipt-like" paper, instead of the expected fiscal receipt. Then, I realized that it was a simple apartment, without any particular facility for travelers. I do not complain, but I was a bit surprised about this experience. Anyway, it has a good quality vs. price ratio!

So future guests! this hotel(hostel) has good lacation, near vatican like 10 min by walk; to metro lets say 10 min as well; no kitchen, one bathroom for 3 rooms, double room we stayed was big, no much noise maybe if you open the window is just a bit laud but in most cities is like that. no dishes available just cattle. a lot of places to eat near, 2 markets lets say cheap; So sum up it was good place and i recommend it to you, just nice place to sleep; aha and for me disadvateages was that it was like 3 separate flats; nb speaks to nobady; people were avoiding each other. ok so thats it. have a nice stay there

Very convenient to the Vatican. The metro is just a few blocks away. This is a more residential area with shopping and restaurants. There is a two flight marble staircase to climb before you reach the elevator. The room was spacious with lots of storage and comfortable beds. The bath was shared but never a problem. Plenty of hot water. Charley met us when we checked in and he is a great guy. Spoke modest english but we got by. If you are interested in quick access to the Forum this place is not for you. If you are willing to use the subway and if you want to see some of Rome that is not so touristy this is a great location. p.s Take some time to learn a few phrases about illnesses in Italian. I had the flu and had to do some quick thinking to describe my symptoms to Doctors who did not speak much english.

I really recommend not to stay here! To begin, as it was summer it was extremely hot! About 40 degrees in the room - no air con or proper fan. There were no locks on the bedroom doors (!), no hot water, the man who greeted me was rather forward which I found inappropriate ("Sei Bella" was repeated too many times), the bed pretty uncomfy and the surrounding streets not safe for me at night as a female single traveller. Only plus was proximity to Vatican and spaciousness of the room. There are no services, I didn't see anyone after check in - the rooms not cleaned. Breakfast is scarce. I was booked for 5 nights but left after two.

We liked the room was great and we were alone, the district was accessible, and to me that the hostel does not appear in all I liked the stay because it gives you the feeling of freedom to move, but if you need anything of them can not contact. On the other hand, offer a breakfast in the price, which did not exist, because there was not even cooking, and cleaning the bathroom left something to be desired. However, if I had to return to Rome again in this hostel. The overall assessment is positive.

I truly enjoyed staying at this B & B. The location is superb. There is a wonderful market right across the street and the best seafood restaurant I've eaten at in Rome. The entrance to the Vatican Museum is only 2 1/2 blocks from the room! The common living quarters and bedrooms offer all of the comforts of home! The washing machine in our room didn't work, which wasn't really a big deal. Just check it before you put laundry detergent in. Overall, I thought this place was spectacular and well worth the price paid. The neighborhood was wonderful. I will definitely stay there again.

We were very happy with this type of accomodation. There was enough privacy and we could use the common kitchen. It fullfilled our expectations - comparing the price and location. Of course I wouldn't recommend it to someone who searches for luxury. This is exactly the type of accomodation when all what you need is a nice, clean, cozy place to sleep, not to spend much time in the room. The only thing is, the noise from the surrounding streets, but what can you expect in the heart of big city!!! :-) (even though our group had 3 double rooms and one of them was heading to the inner part of the house, so it was very quiet). The gate of Vatican was about 10-15min. walk distance. Entrance to the Vatican museum and Sixtin chappele about 5min.

First things first. This is NOT a Bed & Breakfast, but instead, a Bed. Not only was there no food, but there wasn't even coffee or tea served. There was one young girl who lived there that was apparently in charge, but did not have much information. The B & ?, not only had no info on tours, but didn't even have a map to give me!! No towel was provided and the sheets, bathroom and carpet were very dirty. The one good thing is it is only a quick 5 minute walk to the Vatican!

This was perfect for us. It's someone's apartment converted into a B&B. It's a 5 minute walk from the Vatican Museum entrance and a 10 minute walk from St. Peter's Square. There's a metro stop a few blocks from the apartment building. There is no air conditioning or elevator. You must walk up a rather large set of marble stairs before you can take the elevator up two more flights of stairs. So if you can't handle stairs, this place isn't for you. If you're fine with stairs and you're looking for a conveniently located, inexpensive, spacious place, then this B&B is perfect. Be prepared, they do not speak English.

Albatros vittoria b&b : my biggest concern was the bathroom. The shower courtains were so dirty and old ( plastic) that a terrible odor was coming from there. my family and I had to shower did not have another choice, next time I wont stay in any b&b. The person in charge was super nice and try to help as much as he could. The location was convinient 1 1/2 blocks from vatican museum , 1 block away from a local market . To get to your room have to use first stairs and then the elevator did not work for me . I think for young people this place will work good but not for a family. No AC
