Hotel is situated near Piazza Venezia and there are several bus stops nearby. you have to walk to nearest Metro stop for about 15 mins, but you could see all the hisoric sites by walking. There was no AC in the room during our stay ( 4 nights ) as there was some problem after the rain few days back, as told by the receptionist, so I really don't know whether their AC works or not. It was hot during the days ( early May ) but cool in mornings & evenings. We NEEDED AC! Anyway, the receptionists are all nice and tried to help us. There were nice restaurants nearby recommended by them. One of them where we had dinner was really good, but on bit expensive side. But besides them there were not many restaurants nearby. One thing bothered me was the NOISE. I don't know whether other people stayed here were complaining about it, but the busy road was nearby, though not facing it, there was some noise and if you are from quite place, you might find it difficult to sleep. They should make the rooms sound-proof as some other hotels do. We stayed in the triple room 204. There was ok space for us, if not big enough for 3 people.

Room 502 had a very charming view over the surrounding roofs, but the window was quite small. It also had a leaning ceiling which effectively halved the space in which one could stand upright. On the other hand this was also the charm of the room, the naked wooden beams. Bathroom and shower cabin was quite small. The bed was quite hard but good to sleep in. The staff was very helpful and service minded, breakfast restaurant was very nice and charming, good breakfast. Very nice restaurants nearby. Try "Ristaurante Veccia Roma" on Via Della Tribuna di Campitelli. Walking distance to all tourist places and the good shopping.

We were a group of 3, stayed in one of the lofty rooms on the 4th floor, it was exquisite. We really enjoyed our stay, the rooms were beautifully furnished and luxurious beds. The staff was friendly and ready to help you any way they could. The location was perfect, just a couple of blocks from most major sites yet it resided in a quite section. My only complaint if you can call it one is that the little street/lane on which the hotel resides seems an unlikely place for such a fine hotel.

I found the hotel a pleasant place to stay. The area was central to sites yet in a quiet street away from the nustle and bustle. The breakfast was adequate(the fresh fruit was a bit past its sell by date), however there was lots to eat. I was a bit disappointed that the roof top terrace was not serving breakfast even though the weather was excellent. The room's were very clean with a good supply of towels in the bathroom. The rooms were also air conditioned which meant they were always at a comfortable temperature. In the hotel photo's there was a sitting room with a fireplace and sofa's but we could'nt find it.The staff were very helpful and most could speak English. All in all we enjoyed our stay in the Hosianum palace hotel and we would have no hesitation in recommending it to friend's.

Good location, although the first impression of the side street entrance was disappointing. The friendly and helpful reception put our minds at ease. The room was clean and comfortable, if not luxurious or overly large. The mattress was too hard for our tastes. There was some noise in the evening, but it quieted down nicely so we could sleep very well. The roof garden was not up to expectations, but nice for an early evening cocktail. After seeing other hotels, we were happy to be where we were! Unless you want to pay very high prices, this is a good choice. There are several nice restaurants in the quiet ghetto neighbor hood just steps away. Breakfast was fine.

A charming hotel perfectly placed for excursions within the Centro Storico (5 minutes from the Campidoglio) and only ten minutes by taxi from the Stazione Termini. The public rooms are attractive with a delightful roof terrace where breakfast is served if warm enough. It wasn't during my visit but I found it a very pleasant spot for a picnic lunch and there is a variety of newspapers available there plus a bar in the evening. (There is also a bar on the ground floor with cheap internet access). The room was a good size for a single with only a tiny attic-style window but attractively furnished with a cool flat screen TV. The bathroom was well equipped but with nowhere to put anything down if you had more than a toothbrush. The basement breakfast rooms are elegant and there is a good buffet with hot and cold food but the fruit appears to be tinned and the coffee was pre-prepared in a thermos and for those of us who like Italian coffee - not good. When the waiter discovered I spoke Italian he offered me decent coffee. They may have got this aspect right for the majority but perhaps it should be clearer that a wider variety of coffee is available. The service and the friendliness of the staff could not have been warmer or more efficient.

We searched for 4 star hotels on Venere - there is no way that this hotel is 4 star. The taxi drivers could not find it & the room we were offered was dark & dingy. I could not stand upright in half of the room due to the sloping ceiling & the bathroom was so small that two persons could not pass each other in there. We paid for the first night but left immediately for another hotel. This is the first time we have had a problem with a hotel booked through Venere.

We specified a preference for a room with a bath but were not told - either by Venere or by the hotel - that none of the rooms has a bath. There was a problem with the heating in our room and for the first two nights we were unable to sleep because it was unbearably hot. Even after it was "fixed" it was still uncomfortably warm in the room. We were also woken by the smell of food cooking from 7.am every morning. It is a shame that these negative points spoiled our stay in what is otherwise an excellent hotel in a perfect location for visiting Rome.

Location excellent, spot in the city centre. Rooms quite small (at least ours) and bathrooms even more so, plus a bit dark (we were on the mezzanine level, the one usually serving as servants' quarters on renaissance palaces, so windows were a bit on the small size), but well decorated and clean. But, hotel looked brand new, staff were friendly, breakfast was very good, and all at excellent value for money.

I have travelled to Rome many times in the past five years and this was my best Hotel experience by far. I was driving into the city and must say it is difficult to locate in a car due to one ways etc, and there is no parking locally, but for the average visitor sans auto, everything about the place is first rate. Room we had was quite spacious as well as the bathroom. Garden terrace on the roof was great, and you can not beat the location. Lots of terrific ristorantes within a short walking distance. It is as good a hotel as you could hope to find at this price. It has become my prefered place to say in the city.

This is a jewel of a hotel, close to Piazza Venezia, and within walking distance of many of the most interesting monuments and museums. You're within walking distance of the restaurants in Campo de Fiori. There is also a charming restaurant, Vecchia Roma, tucked away in one of the narrow streets close to the hotel that is well worth a visit for dinner. The city bus lines are convenient and inexpensive; we rode one bus (#218) from the stop across from San Giovanni in Laterano to the entrance of the Catacombs of San Callisto. (You can have lunch at a roadside trattoria just across from the entrance.) We would recommend the hotel to our friends and family and are likely to stay here on our next trip to Rome. Note: The hotel is a bit hard to find. So, we'd recommend you get a cab to the hotel when you arrive. Thereafter, you'll have no trouble finding your way back.

After our short taxi ride from the airport to Hosianum we were greated by a friendly man who spoke english well. We are 4 females who booked a quad room but that wasn't available for the first night so they gave us 2 very large double rooms then transferred us to a huge quad room for the other 2 nights. Price was as quoted on the website & included breakfast which was the best buffet we had in our 14 days elsewhere! Quaint rooftop dining with bar. They booked site tours and arranged for taxis for us. Convenient location w/walking to all major sites-Roman Forum, Collesuem, Spanish Steps. We even walked back from our trip to the Vatican. Very clean, pleasant and friendly place to stay!! If we go back we will definitely stay there again!!

I've stayed in many hotels in Rome for several years and this one is very good: - Excellent location (a bit difficult to find though, you'll need a detailed map showing all small streets aroung Plaza Venezia), on a quiet backstreet - 90Eur for a single room on a weekend is a very good deal for this category in March Being Rome, the room is of course very small, has a single bed (90cm wide), the view is non-existant (walls of a backyard), and the bathroom has only a shower, but it still has a desk+chair and does not have the spartan feel that so many single rooms usually have elsewhere. No idea about the breakfast (skipped it). You have to ask reception to change the temperature in your room (it's remotely managed). All in all a good find, I would come back.

Location just ideal. Our room had hardly any place (hooks, cabinet, shelf) to put and store personal things and cloths, so we had to live "out of our suitcases" for four days. This applies even more so to the bathroom: no hooks nor shelves. We had one hot water supply breakdown.

I have some sympathy for Hosianum Palace. It's definitely very pretty and clean, and the location's even better than they promise it is. But they just mess up too many things. The service was grouchy and incompetent; my room was small and noisy; breakfast was almost insulting with half-stale fruit and cake; the entire premises, rooms included, was freezing cold (the promised "air conditioning" turned out to mean central heating that isn't turned on till November); the "bar" you see in the pictures is the size of a broom closet, with about 3 chairs; the roof garden is the same size and doesn't have any nice view either. There are worse hotels, I guess. Go on Hosianum if the price is right (120 Euro for a single room off-season seems OK in Roman standards), but remember to compare prices with 3-star hotels, as Hosianum doesn't seem to have any advantage over them.

I spent four nights there (1st week of Oct. 2005) and couldn't have been more pleased. The room was well-equiped and spotless, the staff spoke English and were very helpful, and it had the best breakfast--including bacon and scrambled eggs!--that I encountered in a month of travelling in Switzerland and Italy. The worst thing about this hotel is that the neighborhood isn't quaint. It's not a dangerous neighborhood, just rather dull. Having said that, though, it certainly is convenient. I found it to be less than a half-hour walk from any place I wanted to go, e.g., termini (train station; 30 min), Vatican (30 min), Spanish Steps (20 min) Forum/s (10 min), Capitoline Hill (10 min), etc. Also, a stop for the 110 sightseeing bus is at Piazza Venezia, about a block from the hotel. Advice on getting there: Though the hotel only a 30-min. walk from the train station, I suggest taking a cab, as it is on a very small side street which you ain't likely to find on your own. The ride was only 8.5 Euros; make sure to wait in the marked taxi line outside the station, i.e., DON'T take a gypsy cab (gypsys are the ones that accost you walking to the real taxi line). A gypsy quoted me a fare of 30 Euros for the aforementioned 8.5-Euro ride. Also on the subject of cab fares, a ride to Fiumicino Airport cost me 65 Euros.

This being my first visit to Italy I was very pleasantly surprised. I had heard many bad stories of Italian hotels but this one could not have been better. Both my Mother and I had a fantastic stay in Rome, the hotel staff were very polite and helpful and the room and bathroom were immaculate. Ours was a little small, but with the buildings history it added to the charm and was more than adequate. I cannot wait to return to Rome and I will be planning to stay here again. Would recommend with no hesitation. The location was also terrific with the majority of the main sites a lovely short walk away!

This hotel is really in a perfect location, right in the middle of the city centre of Rome, about 10 mins walk to the Colosseum in one direction, 10/15 mins walk to the Spanish Steps via the main shopping areas and the north of the city centre. There is a bus stop just around the corner, with the 64 going straight to Termini Station. However there are 2 metro lines, Linea B has a stop at the Colosseum, and Linea A, the closest station is probably at the Spanish Steps. The hotel itself is immaculate, the staff were friendly and professional, and were helpful with any questions we had. The rooms were small, which was too be expected in the centre of Rome, and the shower room was tiny, but this was not a problem for us. There was also a flat screen TV with satellite channels and a minibar. A highlight of the hotel in the Summer months is breakfast on the rooftop terrace. The breakfast was plentiful with hot food like bacon, sausages, eggs and cold e.g. cereals, cold meats, bread, yoghurts, fruit. The cappucino's in the morning were very welcome! At night, you can go up to the roof top terrace for drinks although they are quire expensive (the wine is reasonable but it cost 7 Euros + for a bottle of beer!). One thing to point out, the hotel may be quite difficult to find as it is in a quiet side street and doesn't look like a hotel until you reach the door.

Owned by a nearby Polish Church. Just opened in February so it is new and clean. . Very friedndly and helpful staff,(especially Luciano) although some do not speak English and this is a problem if you have an emergency.. which we did.. as my sister was pickpocketed. But they were so helpful when we did get someone who spoke English. The rooms are very nice although one of the rooms we rented had a soffit where someone kept hitting his head. There is practically no room for storage if you arrive with a fair amount of luggsge. The bathroom is small with no shelf space but clen and new. 'the towels and hair product are good. It is rated as a 4 star hotel.. If so it is much much different than the 5 star Intercontinental that we stayed in , in January. There is a wonderful breakfast on the roof terrace and it was nice to watch the sunset there. The location is good but it is hard to locate unless you have a vey detailed map and a very competant taxi drive as it is in a small alley . With all these caveats, I would still recommend staying there if storage is not a problem. It is close to the Synagogue and the Forum and Plaza Vinezia. The location is quiet .. but we were there in August when all of Rome is quiet. Also we booked close to our arrival time so the price went down by 60 Euro from 1 week to the next. So keep checking the rates before you book.

While we weren't too thrilled with the city of Rome, we LOVED Hosianum Palace. The staff was gracious and professional, the room was beautiful (we stayed in the one you see in the pictures), and breakfast on the rooftop terrace was a highlight of our days. I can't imagine staying anywhere else!

The hotel was lovely and the location unbeatable. We loved the rooftop deck and the bar service and bar staff open until midnight. Our only comments relative to opportunities for improvement are: 1. Access to ice machine with an ice bucket in room. 2. Wait staff for breakfast in the morning were aloof and grudging to assist. 3. The room that 4 of us were in was small. We had to crawl over one bed to reach the 4th bed in a small alcove in the room.

We all were very impressed with the hotel and its location. When we return to Rome, Hosianum will be our first choice!

The hotel is not easy to find, located in a warren of small back streets, but is worth navigating the one way systems and narrow lanes. It is very centrally located, so many of Rome's major sites are only a few minutes' walk away, or a short bus or taxi ride. Although it is a converted hospice, only the plaque in the foyer (in Polish, confusingly) would give this away, and the bedrooms are elegantly furnished and decorated. It had only been open as a hotel for three months when we visited, so the decor was pristine; hopefully that level will be maintained into the future. Although facilities are not extensive - there's a small roof terrace for breakfast and evening drinks in season, and a ground floor breakfast room when the weather's less clement - the staff are very welcoming and helpful.

This is a small but clean and very well located hotel. Perfect for a few days stay. Breakfast was good quality served on rooftop.

This was a great value for Rome at that time. When we first checked in, we thought the room was very loud. You have to close the windows if you have a street room, then the sound is blocked out and the air conditioning kicks in.
