This is a very private hotel. It only has a small number of rooms. We stayed in the Penthouse and it was quite spacious. We would compare it to renting a condo. It is in an excellent location and everything in Rome is within walking distance. We walked 15 miles around Rome in two days. We had no problems with safety or navigating the streets. The only issue we had was that the check-in is at the small restaraunt next door. It does not open until after 10:00 a.m., so don't arrive early or else you will need to find yourself standing on a street for a few hours.

We arrived well before check in time with the intention of just leaving our bags, and received the red carpet treatment welcome of a full breakfast and more importanty a great coffee! We were not charged for this and could not have been made to feel more welcome. The hotel is situated above the owners restaurant, and Mamas apple pie is excellent - even for breakfast! The restaurant food is top class, and easily the best Italian food I've tasted. While the owners are Italian, their English is good, but to make sure you are looked after, they have Annette (ex-pat Californian) who can tell you anything you want to know. The rooms are great with a top-class fitout (these Italians know how to use marble!). The TV gets all the cable stations and there's a coffee machine in the room. Everything in the mini bar is free and they restock it daily. Location is very close to the Metro station next to the Spanish Steps and everything else is within walking distance. The main retail fashion strip is just around the corner if you need retail therapy. We will stay here again..
