Penzion Kovač - Radovljica

We used hotel Kovaz as our base for our entire one week Vacation in Slovenia, and this was a very good choice. First and foremost – location! All major attractions are within one hour drive from the hotel, and the charming town Radovljica is a perfect place for the evening (restaurant, café, music festival during August…). The room was spacious and clean, wide selections of TV channels (which was important during the Beijing Olympics…). However, the main attraction of this hotel is the attentive and warm service. Without being asked, the staff provided most valueable information during breakfast (which by the way was rich and excellent), about weather forecast, tips on traffic, etc. We had the feeling that even the slightest comment or request will be addressed immediately. The young staff that runs the hotel provided, in addition to this high quality service, also a glimpse into the way the young generation of Slovenia come to terms with their turbulent recent history. One point to note – the final bill included an additional tax (1 E per person on top of the city tax which was mentioned in Venere) that was a surprise to us. This should be fixed.
