The views of the location was outstanding...The staff wére curtious and helpful. The maid was neglegent in providing 2 bath towels daily, she only provided 1, when there were 2 of us staying in the room. <otherwise, it was a lovely stay and <<I would recomend this hotel if you love secluded privacy in a magnificent nature setting.

The venue is excellent. Beautiful grounds in an amazing location. The service was not great. It seemed like everything we asked for was a hassle, and they just didn't emphasize service like you would expect. That said, they're lucky, cause the venue itself is totally worth it, just don't expect a lot from the staff.

Wonderful, elegant country inn with caring, professional hosts. Beautiful rooms, views, and attitude. Conveniently located between Radda and Castellina (both wonderful towns with great food), so Firenze, Lucca, Siena are all easy to reach. I wouldn't return to Tuscany without booking Villa Sant'Uberto.

It was a beautiful villa in a lovely setting - beautiful grounds. Staff was friendly & welcoming. Bar & snacks were well-priced and good quality. Breakfast was good. The room could have been cleaner. There was a lot of dust behind the bed. Our wardrobe bar fell down and they couldn't fix it. They moved our clothes after 2 days to a high wardrobe where we needed to hook the hangers to get them down.

This is a beautiful hotel in a stunning location, on top of a hill with views across the Tuscan hills to the distant mountains. The villa has large well-kept gardens and wooded grounds with a swimming pool and sitting area right on the hill edge so after your swim you can lie on a lounger looking out over miles of countryside. The rooms are large and furnished in rustic style with paintings and wall-hangings and there are wide terraces for sitting out and enjoying the sunshine and the views. Breakfast was more than adequate with a choice of ceerals, fruit and pastries served on the terrace in fine weather. I was there to do the Eroica bike event and the staff were very helpful in providing somewhere to keep my bicycle. Several other guests were also doing this event. This a beautiful and peaceful place, perfect for visiting the small towns of Chianti.

It was a great holiday. The hotel is magical as well as Tuscany. The hotel is situated in a quiet area surrounded by trees overlooking the vineyards and olive groves. Breakfast at the hotel was good. I recommend a trip to Siena and San Gimignano. You must try their Chianti wine and local food in restaurants. We will certainly visit the hotel again.

A beautiful classic Italian villa overlooking the Tuscan countryside. The staff were extremely helpful and even provided an early breakfast for us before we went on the L'Eroica Cycle Tour from Gaiole. The rooms were clean and well appointed. The dining area offered three options depending on the weather - inside, covered or open terrace. The breakfast selection was very good and various items changed on a daily basis. There was a small bar in the hotel and an excellent restaurant ten minutes walk away. Take a torch if you are likely to walk back when it's dark! Ample secure parking. A stunning place to stay. Highly recommended.

The staff were very helpful and friendly. Beautiful view of Chianti hills from the hotel terrace. Within 7 minutes (driving) of 2 towns (Radda and Castellina) with more than enough choices of restaurants and shops. Enjoy a stunning sunset at the hotel with a bottle of Chianti red wine. Note that there is no internet access due to the secluded location of the hotel, but this is a good excuse to break away from society....!!

My wife and I had an apartment which was very comfortable and cozy with a beautiful view surrounding us with a lovely gardens with swimming pool. Rooms were very large with king-size bed. The management made us feel at home and were very friendly. Always available and very informative about the Tuscany area. Nearby Castellina was a very nice little town for gas, banking, groceries, dining, and shopping.

Villa Sant'Uberto was a beautiful, charming and relaxing place to spend a few days. You must have a car while staying in this area in order to get around - we visited the hill towns of Radda, Castellina, Greve, San Gimignano and Siena during our stay here and it was the perfect home base. The pool is a wonderful feature after a long morning of driving and sightseeing, and you can watch the sun set over the hills of Chianti. The property is very clean, and extremely quiet. Not for families or partiers. All guests were respectful of one another and the tranquil atmosphere. If you plan to stay for longer than 2 or 3 nights, I recommend the apartment, as there is a kitchen and small grocery store about 10 minutes away. We would return again!

The area and room was lovely. It got cold however, and our apt was freezing, but I noticed the main living area, where the owners worked was toasty. We weren't permitted there. Great pool for warmer days. The surrounding area was lovely. Had a car breakdown and great difficulty getting back to our rooms, as the owner basically said 'too bad'. Another nice hotel helped us out. Don't let them rent you an Alfa Romeo car!

The stay at the Villa was amazing - if you are coming to the region and need a quite, friendly place to stay with STUNNING views - then look no further. Staff were welcoming and very helpful, especially in advising where we could go on the wine tour ! Breakfast was adequate, but to be frank dont stay here if you want a 5 star hotel breakfast - you stay here for the location and the tranquility - next to the hotel there is a fantastic restaurant which looks nothing from the outside - believe me it is excellent and you need to BOOK to make sure you get a table at the weekend - what else can I say, except we will be going back - soon !!!

Villa Sant'Uberto Country Inn is a superb find. It is 5km from Radda in Chianti (the local town with a good selection of shops and restaurants) in a county setting. The views are very impressive and the rooms more than spacious. We really thought we were very lucky to get such a room for the price. It is very peaceful and quiet and the swimming pool is large and deep. The rooms are well equipped with cutlery, plates and glasses etc. Our only disappointment was the local Trattoria (200 meters from the driveway). It as quiet but the service was very slow and all meals arrived at totally different times. You expect this a little in Italy but there were huge gaps. The pizza though was superb but my dish of roast Tuscan meats was very poor indeed. It was supposed to contain rabbit, chicken, pheasant and hare. All that arrived as literally a plate of bones. Just wings that had been cooked for so long all the meat had fallen off in the cooking pot so left just bones. There was one small 1/2 chicken breast but that was so over cooked that it was inedible. When I complained quietly and politely all the waiter did was to tell me to calm down!. I could not have been more calm so this went into out holiday folklore! Villa Sant'Uberto Country Inn is superb though and very underpriced. We can thank them enough for their hospitality, service and beauty of their villa and the sunset you are privileged to see over the Tuscan hills from your room.

This place is a gem tucked away in the Tuscan hills. It is the perfect place to stay if you want an adventure in Tuscany. We rented a car in Florence and drove to the Inn. We stayed there for 5 days and it was our base for exploring all the wonderful little towns in Tuscany. The Inn was so quiet and the staff could not have been more helpful. They even recommended a great little laundry service in Castellina so that we could have clean clothes for the rest of our trip. You definitely need a car if you want to stay here, but if you are planning to explore the region at your own place, this is a great (and affordable) place to stay!

This country inn is about 4 km from Castellina in Chianti on the road to Radda in Chianti. Therefor you need a car. But when the gates open and you get out of the car, you know this will be a very nice holiday! In the distance you can vaguely hear the traffic, but what you really hear is: SILENCE. Our apartment was in the back of a big house. It was spacious and very clean, with a well equiped kitchen. From the furnished terrace outside the door, you have a wonderful view of the Chianti landscape with Panzano in the distance. We made our own breakfast and dinner, but you can get breakfast in a spacious breakfast room for an additional charge. Very nice staff, lovely pool, lots of peace and quiet. Very good place to spend some days. Recommendable.

The timing must have been just right for us and the natural beauty of the Tuscan landscape to reveal itself in the autumn splendor of golden yellows, ruby reds and not to forget mentioning the silvery olive trees. It’s God’s country for sure, aided by the attentive details of its wine growers. It was one of the highlights of our stay in the countryside to be able to witness that incredible view in the early morning hours at Villa Sant’Uberto. It’s no wonder generations of families don’t part easily with this attraction. We had the good fortune of getting a suite on the second floor and could throw back the shutters on three large windows or access the generous terrace from two sets of “French” (oops) doors. We found our accommodations spacious and spotless with a bathroom large enough for a morning jog. Breakfast was the best we noted in the two weeks spent through Italy; and that again could be enjoyed on a lower outside terrace or in a handsomely appointed breakfast room. Giovanni and Sylvia, our hosts, spoke perfect English (as well as other languages), were friendly and just attentive enough and always very professional with information on local restaurants and wineries to visit. Our only regret was that we didn’t book Villa Sant’Uberto for a longer stay!! It’s a great find.

We had 5 wounderful days staying at Villa Sant'Uberto in May 2007. We booked the upstairs suite and it exceeded all my expectations, the view from the huge terrace was amazing, surounded by pinetrees and birds. The staff were very helpful in booking restaurants and with directions & maps to Siena and nearby winerys. The Villa is in a beautiful setting about half way between the small towns of Radda which has many lovely restaurants and Castellina where I would recommend, Trattoria la Torre for homecooked Tuscan food. There is a lot to explore in the area and we only touched the surface but we loved the little town of Panzano, Castello di Brolio is amazing and Siena and San Gimignano are absolute musts. We had perfect weather very sunny and hot during the day and cooler in the evenings. Every morning we ate breakfast on the sundrenched terrace taking in the vista planning our days travels - just perfect.

We visited this lovely B&B during the last week of June. Coming from hot and busy Rome, this place was an oasis of cool breezes, rolling hills and peaceful solitude! Our apt. was facing the hills and swimming pool and was clean and spacious. Out hosts were wonderful and all in all it was a great place for families, couples, whomever! The surrounding towns of Radda and Castellina in Chianti are less than 10 minutes away. The grocery store in Castellina was chock full of local produce, meats and staples. The town itself is warm and welcoming with good restaurants, an internet stop, great little Tuscan shops and of course, wine! We took day trips to Lucca, Pisa, Radda and had fun driving the curvy roads to see what spectacle would appear next. There are several winery choices; we chose a free tour at one of the larger ones: Castello D'Albola and were not disappointed. Do not hesitate to book this B&B if you want to experience the Chianti region at a leisurely pace. Note: when renting an apt., breakfast is an additional charge. Although the offering was ample, we chose to purchase a few groceries instead. Service is available throughout the day for coffe, drinks, etc. The pool was clean and open 24 hrs a day. The grounds were superbly kept and just lovely.

My husband and I stayed there with four friends, and could not have been more pleased. The rooms were lovely and the hospitality incredible. We could not have asked for more.

I cannot say enough good things about Vila Sant Uberto. We enjoyed a beautiful suite that was filled with light. It joined a wrap-around terrace with incredible views of the countryside, in fact there are beautiful patios and terraces surrounding the property to ensure privacy and tranquility. Giovanni was a great help in his recommendations ranging from restaurants to the best routes throughout the Tuscany region and those little known but not to be missed sites. We are looking forward to our next trip to Villa Sant Uberto.

We had a wonderful stay and would highly recommend Villa Sant'Umberto. It is an especially great value for the price. Very good breakfast and the service bar was a very nice addition. We were able to choose from a nice selection of local wines and have them served to us on the terraces and balconies of the Inn. Our only two (minimal) complaints would be that our host recommended restaurants to us that were not open (when we specifically asked what restaurants would be open that evening) and also gave us misinformation re: vineyards which would ship to the U.S. We drove specifically to the place he recommended (about a 45 min. drive) only to be told they did not ship wine and we would have to purchase their wine from a shop which would ship it for us.

We were pleasantly surprised when arriving at the Villa Sant'Uberto Country Inn in that the website photos and description didn't do the place justice. The website info looked and sounded great but the villa was fantastic, the rooms and furnishings were gorgeous and the exterior grounds were a real treat. The innkeepers were quiet yet very accomodating with all of our requests. Every recommendation made i.e. restaurants, wineries, etc., turned out to be a jewel. Breakfast was simple fare, nothing hot except toast. My only small complaint is that when I was looking at a book from a bookshelf in a common area I was told by the owner "don't touch those without asking permission" and then told I couldn't read those books. My friendly advice to the owner is to remove all personal belongings from the common areas as most travelers will assume that they can peruse books that are kept out in open.

Our stay at the Villa Sant'Uberto was very enjoyable. The location is ideal; we were surrounded by beautiful views of the Chianti countryside and the property is only 3 km from Castellina, one of the lovliest hilltowns in Chianti. The grounds are beautifully landscaped and at the same time have a very natural look. The interior of the inn was tastefully decorated. Overall, the Uberto is a lovely property as well as an outstanding value.

We absolutely loved the villa! (And were so very unhappy to leave it!) It was beautiful in all ways, and we have every intention of returning in the future. Our room and bathroom were both huge, comfortable, and tastefully decorated. The same can be said for the villa. We loved the pool and the view of the rolling hills of Tuscany. We loved the quiet serenity of the place. Breakfast was excellent--the best brioches we had in Italy! The people who run it are wonderfully nice and very helpful. Every suggestion made to us by them(we took them all!) turned out to be magical. We could not recommend this place more highly. It felt like a second honeymoon. So romantic!

Beautiful setting in the Tuscany area. Giovanni was an excellent host. The room was spacious with a balcony overlooking the countryside. My wife and I could not ask for a more relaxing and wonderful place after the hectic pace of site seeing in Rome.

This is a wonderful place! The grounds of the hotel are lovely & relaxing. The rooms are very spacious & furnished with lovely antiques. The manager, Giovanni, is very friendly & helpful, too. We would definitely return here. It's also ideally located in Chianti, between Radda & Castellina. This hotel was our favorite of the 4 hotels where we stayed during our 10 day trip to Italy this May.

This was an outstanding Villa. The smell of the pines in the morning and the sound of owls at night was icing on the cake. Very central for day tripping to surrounding towns and vineyards. Great typical breakfast to get your day going. Will return...

This is one of the best places we stayed in Italy (probably the best). It's in the country and requires a car... and is about 5 minutes west of Radda, 5 minutes east of Castelina, 25 minutes east of San Gimignano and 30 minutes north of Sienna. The owner spoke perfect English and was very helpul in planning activies. The room (a junior suite) was huge... about 20' x 20" and a large ensuite bathroom (and private access to a huge deck that look northward to Florence. The pool wasn't open because we were there in late March. I truly fine establishment that we will surely return to in visiting Toscana.

Beautiful outlook over the Chianti Hills. Quiet location. Need a car to get into closest village as it's off the beaten track a bit. We enjoyed out stay. Was good to be able to order a cup of coffee at the end of the day and relax in the beautiful lounge area after a busy day sight seeing.

Find this hotel before dark! The address is Radda, but it's actually much closer (about 5 km) to Castellina in Chianti. The hotel is an old villa, fixed up nicely. Views from the terrace are spectacular, and you can eat breakfast overlooking the hotel's own beautiful grounds and the Tuscan countryside. The room and bathroom were spacious, the bathroom very modern. There's a swimming pool which we assume is available for guests. The fellow at the desk was surprisingly aloof for an innkeeper and gave us incomplete driving directions that forced us to change a side trip.

Très belle demeure idéaalement située dans la région du Chianti. On s'y sentirait chez soi si le responsable des lieux n'apparaissait pas à chaque fois que l'on faisait un pas. Le service de chambre (changement des draps et des serviettes) serait à améliorer

Amazing accommodation. The villa is run by the owner and his family, so it is very authentic and the service is second to none. They were extremely friendly and gave us great suggestions on little out of the way villages to visit that made our trip to Tuscany perfect. Can highly recommend Sant'Uberto to anyone looking for a good base to explore the Chianti region and beyond.

Our 4-day stay at the Villa Sant'Uberto was just lovely and the countryside was so peaceful! This was a very welcome change after the noise of the city. Our room was beautiful with many comfortable features. Giovanni and his family were very welcoming and hospitable and made us feel right at home. The full breakfast was quite nice, as well. We highly recommend a stay.

The location of this Villa is perfect - in the middle of wineyards, in the very center of Tuscany and Chianti. A pitty that the pool wasn´t already opened...although it was still quite fresh:-) Overall we spent nice holidays in "Villa Sant'Uberto Country Inn" and highly recommend this nice place.

This was a very enjoyable place. It is obvious that the family who own and operate the inn are new to the "hosting business", but they were very nice. The qualiy of the breakfasts could be improved...dry bread/rolls and rather bland coffee.
