Perfect B and B conveniently located near the historic district. Giuseppe was a helpful host who provided much information about the area. Since Palermo was the last leg of our month trip to Italy, we dropped off the car upon our arrival and used the public transportation to visit Monreale. The airport bus was also close by. The grand room was quiet and immaculate and spacious.

Wonderful place, ideally located for music lovers, between Massimo and Politeama, for shoppers, smack in the middle of the shopping area. A bit further for historical sights, but walking through markets and piazzas is part of the Palermo experience anyway, so, no hardship. Very nice owner, who will take good care of you.He even found me shoe laces when mine broke. And you can follow his advice for pizza!

Great location, spacious room. The breakfast was typical of southern Italy: pastries, yogurt and fruit, and fresh orange juice was really nice. Only downside is that the walls in the room and the bathroom could use some cleaning and/or paint. Toothpaste splatters on the wall, chipped paint on the door and grubby handprints on the closets detracted from what could have been an elegant room. For that reason, felt it was a bit overpriced.

We loved our stay here! The parking was a huge bonus in an enclosed courtyard, although we did drive past it the first time and then had a nightmare with Palermo traffic (our fault, of course!). Breakfast was amazing in a lovely light room with freshly squeezed juice and stovetop coffee. The best croissants I had in Italy! Giuseppe was very helpful and friendly. I really could not fault it at all, which is a first for any of my reviews. There were even 2 extra pillows, rather than the seemingly usual 1! Well worth the money, and we would definitely return.

the only problem I had was to find the place (the map was too small and I had no idea access was through a courtyard) and the hotel being in a pedestrian area it was absolute hell for us to drive back home. Major jam to get closer to the street, and then access denied by the police 3 times over a stay of 4 days... Nobody's fault, I guess but a major problem all the same

We received a very sympathetic welcome from the owner when we arrived at 2330 and he tactfully showed us to our room and offered to defer the check-in until the next morning when we were feeling fresher. The room was spacious with a good en-suite shower room and was amazingly quiet for a courtyard building only just off one of the busiest streets in Palermo. Breakfast was very satisfactory. The owner was tremendously helpful in giving advice about travel to various places in the neighbourhood and further afield. We were made to feel really welcome and will certainly go back.

The Palazzo Pantaleo is located in one of the best shopping areas, close to many attractive sights in Palermo although it is very quiet - placed in a courtyard - and has its own parking space there for free, secured with an iron door. The rooms are extraordinary large, with high ceilings, nice interior and typical nicely tiled and a balcony with a little smaller but very comfortable and clean bathroom. The owner of the hotel, Giuseppe, was not only very nice and helping - he also showed compassion in a difficult situation: Because I lost my purse with all my passport, money, keys and and - we looked for it on another place therefore were only able to use one of the 2 nights we booked. After explaining this situation to Giuseppe, he charged us only for the one night we stayed at his place although it was only my problem...So we could fully recommend this hotel to everyone. Whenever I will come back to Palermo this will be my/our first choice!!

The Palazzo Pantaleo is a wonderful oasis of quiet and calm within the hustle and bustle of Palermo. The rooms are a great size, well furnished and with plenty of storage space to put things away. You even get a small balcony (well we did, and I think most of the other rooms do too !). Set back just off the busy main road, the B&B has a small courtyard to the front, providing free car parking for guests, which is a great bonus, in a city centre location where parking is extremely limited. Location is excellent, being right at the heart of the main shopping areas, but more importantly close by to most of the major sights. Highly recommended, with wonderful service too

Sometimes you want to keep the good places you find to yourself. Other times, you feel you've got to tell everybody about the place, because it is just such a good experience. This is my dilemma with Palazzo Pantaleo. Simply put, it is stunning. Many B&B owners, especially in Italy where this is a recent phenomenon, would benefit by staying here to see how it should be done. Its location is great, although we had to phone Giuseppe for direction once we arrived in Palermo (my Garmin sat-nav couldn't find the street - mainly because it was spelt wrongly by Garmin: it's a rubbish sat-nav by the way). He popped along in 5 minutes on his scooter to where we were and guided us there. It's very centrally located, but because it's in a courtyard it's very quiet. Italians don't "do" breakfast very well, but this was an exception. All in all, this was an excellent find. You could do worse in a 3-4 star hotel.

We went to Palermo three times and after trying another B&B nearby (only because this one was full), we realized that Palazzo Pantaleo is the best considering location, prize and quality of stay. We were kindly greeted by Giuseppe both times and he even upgraded our room the second time around. It is inside a quiet, secured courtyard in the middle of bustling Palermo and trust me, no noise is well worth the money. The A/C, great spacious bathrooms and delicious breakfast spread were just as mentioned. Everything was in working order and Giuseppe's restaurant and aiport shuttle recommendations saved us time and money. The lunch rec was highly appreciated! Stayed here for 3 nights before moving on to Cefalu. Location is excellent, hidden in a quiet courtyard just off one of the main shopping streets. No grand entrance: access is via a quirky passageway and lift, but don't be put off. Central location means easy access to lots of restaurants/cafes and good transport links (inc bus from airport). Old town is walkable, just. Room was big, cool and airy; bed v comfortable; bathroom small but reasonably modern. Excellent light breakfast and some great eating recommendations from our most aimiable host, Guiseppe. Would happily stay at this B&B again.

The place is not a hotel (as it was advertised) but a huge old palace/house with big and nicely decorated rooms. One would like a better coffe in Italy, but the owner is very charming and the rooms are very quiet (at least in April), both inside and outside. You feel almost at home. If you like a quiet and "human" place, far from groups, and noisy neighbours this is the place. One would also would like a reception with more hours of attention. But all in all, very recommendable.

And the owner is very kind, always available for a chat, to give restaurant recommendations and the like. Centrally located, but still very quite. Can be recommended without any reservations.

Wonderful place! The Palazzo Pantaleo offers a sweet boutique B&B experience, with beautiful airy rooms. The interiors are lovely, the aesthetic clean and elegant. Breakfast the best we had in Italy - so fresh! Guiseppe is accommodating and attentive. He gave my mother-in-law a book on Bhageria (to keep) when he discovered her family was from there. Priceless.

The owner, Giuseppe, is a warm and friendly person who helps you know what to do, where it is, and how you can get there. He is funny and charming. The room was sparkly clean and enormous, with a couch, refrigerator, and desk.

The Palazzo Pantaleo was probably the nicest B&B we've stayed in during our trip. The rooms were spacious, clean and included high quality furniture. Our host Guiseppe was a delight and we felt very looked after. The Palazzo Pantaleo was a bit tricky to find - you drive down an alley off Via Ruggero Settimo (a small yellow sign directs you from the street). A real bonus to this property is the car park.Driving in Palermo is definitely a challenge. We stayed with Guiseppe on two occasions over our holiday and would definitely stay again.

This was the best place we stayed at in Sicily. We had booked a 'proper' hotel for the end of our trip(getting a good discount etc), but our 3 nights in the Palazzo Pantaleo had been so good that we changed our reservation so that we could stay here at the end of our trip too. The location was excellent. (A 5 minute walk from the airport bus for example). Lots of great restaurants and good shopping in the area too. A very short walk to the local market (don't miss it), and then on to the cathedral. Everyone writes about how good Giuseppe Scaccianoce is. I expected a showman. He was nothing like that: a real gentleman. Organized a rental car for us (free parking downstairs)and best of all got me a speedy prescription that meant that not even my attack of shingles could spoil my holiday. The rooms are large and spotless. (On our way back we stayed in a family room. 2 bedrooms and a bathroom up a tiny spiral staircase. Kids would love it!) And on our last day, unasked, Giuseppe got up and prepared us fresh coffee, croissants and fruit at 6:15 a.m.!! Where else? A great place.

We had an excellent stay at the Palazzo Pantaleo. the rooms are spacioous and the breakfast is superb. I would particularly like to thank the owner who went out of his way to be helpful and was wonderfully kind. It was a pleasure to stay there and I would thoroughly recommend the hotel to anyone wanting to stay in central Palermo. the hotel is very well situated.

This owner goes the extra mile ! Flight delayed due to snowstorms in Europe X-mas 2010 by two days. Re arranged everything so that we had beds the first night, the got the rooms we originally ordered for the second night. Great information @ reception. Very quiet surroundings in the middle of Palermo. Would stay here again !

We stayed at Palazzo Pantaleo for 3 nights and it was absolutely fantastic. It was like staying in a luxury 5 star hotel at a much more affordable price. The rooms are beautifully furnished and spacious. Guiseppe, the host, is a lovely man who advises the best things to see and do in Palermo. The breakfasts are great and use of the kitchen is especially handy when travelling with a baby and young child. The location is excellent. Guiseppe and Palazzo Pantaleo made our stay in Palermo memorable and we will definately return one day.

Very nice accommodations! Giuseppe is a very good host even making breakfast for us at 5am so we could catch an early flight! Entering hotel required many doors and security things but this is likely due to location near center of town. The rooms were very spacious and internet (wired) in the room was good. Location of hotel is a bit tricky to find once you get to the main intersection-- it is back behind a hidden courtyard.

We stayed for three nights at this wonderful little B & B and wished it could have been longer. We arrived by bus from the airport and easily found the location as it is just around the corner from the Teatro Politeama bus stop. Centrally located, it was an easy walk to many sights, markets, shops, restaurants and a great pasticceria for some of the best cannoli you'll ever eat! Our double room was large by any standard and was kept spotlessly clean during our stay. The bathroom was modern and had plenty of room to place toiletries etc on the bench. The breakfast is tailored to the tastes of the individual guests and was fresh, plentiful and delicious. Perfettisimo! However, the real highlight of Palazzo Pantaleo was our host Giuseppe. From the moment we arrived he was warm and welcoming and made us feel that we were part of the family. He was a wealth of information with regards to restaurants and sights and nothing was too much trouble to ensure we had a comfortable and enjoyable stay. We shared many laughs together and enjoyed his wonderful sense of humour. We felt like we had made a new friend. Thankyou Giuseppe. We will definitely return!

The only criticism is, if it wasn't for the Police escort to the hotel (as the streets were closed, as it was in the 'safe' are for the Pope's visit), it might have been a bit difficult to find. So, that aside, this was a fantastic place to stay. The welcome from Giuseppe was amazing, and he continually made my parents cups of tea / coffee / hot water and spoke to them, making them feel so very welcome. He also allowed me to practice my Italian, when most people default to English when they know that is your language (which he spoke with my parents and husband). Giuseppe was the perfect host, the rooms were MASSIVE and we were in a nice part of Palermo (which, trust me, has its 'not so nice' areas). We traveled with our five month old daughter, so we were shown the facilities in the kitchen and told we were welcome to use them at any time to heat up her food. Overall, this was a wonderful place to stay.

Terrific host, staff and hospitality. Great location. Very attentive to needs of travelers. Room was spacious offering all the amenities. Breakfast on a very pleasant terrace with freshness in all items served (juice and breads/croissanterie). Wired internet; wished they installed wireless as we each had a computer and had to take turns on the wire.

A unique place to stay when visiting Palermo. The location is very central and if you are travelling with a rented car, there is a safe, free, private parking spot that is closed at night. The area around the B&B was temporarely closed of for all traffic in preparation of the Pope's visit, but the owner of the guesthouse accompanied me in my car to find an "alternative" route to reach the location. Very helpful owner and friendly welcome. Nice, spacy and clean room. Excellent breakfast, prepared by the owner early in the morning, as we had to leave for the airport at 6.30 hr. Quiet surrounding, although in the middle of Palermo. This is the place where I want to stay at my next visit to Palermo.

A wonderful place and well located for visiting Palerme. We have been delighted by the spacious rooms and the quality of the service... as well as by the parking lot where we let our car during our visit. Our host, who was speaking french fluently, was very helpful for our stay in Sicilia. We recommend this town house suite Palazzo Panraleo highly.

Palazzo Pantaleo was perfect for our family. Located just steps from Piazza Ruggero Settimo and many restaurants, shops, and the Politeama Theatre. Signore Giuseppe was attentive and generous. The suite for four included two separate rooms with a couch that converted to a comfortable bed. The bathroom was quite spacious according to others we stayed in in Sicily. More than enough room for a family of four.

Palazzo Pantaleo is wonderful! It is a terrific little B&B in the heart of Palermo -- but very quiet because it is in a small courtyard in an area of upscale shops. Our host, Guiseppe, was great!! He made us feel welcome and at home. He also gave us valuable advice on sights and surroundings, and made our stay in Palermo perfect. Our room was beautiful and spacious with a large double window out onto a small terrace. The location is great and the shuttle to/from the airport is just around the corner and across the street. This little gem is a great value and I wouldn't consider staying anywhere else on my next trip to Palermo.

Without a doubt my most favourite B&B of all time! The beauty of the rooms puts most 4/5 star hotels to shame! Guisseppe is the best Laissez-Faire host possible, utterly relaxed and helpful. We stayed at the start of our trip, but once there also booked it for our last night in Palermo. Excellent location!

We stayed here for four nights, and this B&B is the best accommodation during our trip in Sicily. You can easily access "Palazzo Pantaleo" from Palermo airport by shuttle buses bound for Central station. It is located near the bus stop “Theater Politeama”. Its rooms are all clean, spacious, good taste and cozy. Owner Giuseppe’s hospitality has made this B & B so special – warm and welcoming atmosphere. We would like to visit Palermo again to meet him again!

Outstanding B & B ... the host, Giuseppe, was exceptionally friendly and hospitable. He went out of his way many times to ensure we had a comfortable stay. The morning we left for the airport (0600am), he personally gave us a wake-up call and made sure breakfest was made for us. The next time I (we) stay in Palermo, it will be here.

The Palazzo Pantaleo was our favorite Bed and Breakfast during our visit to Italy. The location was perfect, the room was beautiful, and the owner, Pepe, was warm and inviting. Breakfast was served on an enclosed porch and included fresh squeezed orange juice by Pepe himself, fresh pastries, and coffee or tea.

We would highly recommend staying at Palazzo Pantaleo. Our room was fantastic - very spacious, quite luxurious and very clean. We were able to access the kitchen at any time during our stay to make coffee or tea. The location of the Palazzo Pantaleo was perfect. Right in the middle of the shopping district and close to many good restaurants but just off the main street so it wasn't too noisy. Giuseppe, the owner was very helpful. I really don't think anyone could do better when staying in Palermo. The rooms were large, clean and quiet. Even the shower and elevator were bigger than European standards. The breakfasts are huge, tasty and individualized. A vegetarian meal was no problem. The free parking in Palermo was a big plus. I would definitely recommend this place to my friends.

This property far exceeded our expectations. The rooms were beautiful, spacious and spotless, the bed was comfortable. It is in a building in a courtyard off the main street so it was relatively quiet, even in the heart of the city. Guiseppe was a helpful and gracious host, waiting for us to arrive even though we were three hours late. He served us delicious fresh-squeezed blood orange juice with breakfast every morning, what a treat! There is a bus from the airport that drops you off at Piazza Ruggero Settimo, a two-minute walk. The location is convenient to all major sights, but bring sturdy walking shoes, as you will be working off all that wonderful pasta. We loved Palermo, grit and all. We hope to return and stay here at this B&B again.

Immaculate, large rooms in former family house, all fixtures modernized. Owner very friendly and helpful. Private elevator system ensures high security. For those addicted to it, you also have satellite TV and internet access for free. The location could not be more central, but being in a courtyard removed from the immediate street it ensures a high degree of quietness. Great value for money.
