We booked a double en suite room after looking at the photos. We were shown into a cramped room overlooking tatty gardens with shop dummies lying on the ground like dead bodies. The lady changed it to a much better room which shows how misleading the pictures are and we felt it was a case of let's see if we can get away with it. As it was for our 40th wedding anniversary we would have walked out. The last day the bathroom was not very well cleaned and no biscuits left! Think the stair carpet will need to be dealt with soon before someone has an accident. Overall it was in a lovely area and has character

A small and friendly B&B right in the heart of Oxford. We were made to feel most welcome and were very well looked after. Breakfast is in the nearby Turl Street Kitchen and was excellent. We tested the management with a request for the iron, the response was excellent with the manager offering to steam and iron some of our clothes required for our daughter's graduation. A first rate response and far beyond our expectation. On departure a further challenge was accepted and performed without complaint or flaw, namely the disposal of a large but unwanted suitcase. We had two double rooms, one large double, recently refurbished, an excellent room with new en-suite. The second was a large double awaiting refurbishment but none the less a good clean room. The hotel is in central Oxford and you couldn't get a much better location. With all hotels in Oxford centre, car parking is a problem, however you can get to the front door to drop off/pick up bags etc then move the car to one of several park and ride car parks. The buses return you to within 100 yards of the hotel.

it's an historical building (built around 1600...), in a very central location, rooms are small and charming, bathroom is clean and functional enough, staff is very nice. Cosy place but not adapted to tall or "large people" Wi-Fi, breakfast included but we didn t have the chance to test it

the place is definitely quaint. The house dates back to a tie when people were smaller and ceilings below 2 meters, with beams at 1.75/1.8 meters hight were not a problem. The carpets are a bit dated, in particular on the narrow stairs; windows a bit difficult to handle; otherwise everything you need is there: a good shower,tea/coffee making equipment, free wifi, comfortable bed. Breakfast at the nearby "Turl street kitchen" (restaurant) is generous and a bit out of the ordinary.
