We stayed for one night as a family (parents wit three kids). I Vicoletti is situated in an appartment block on the top floor (nice, having breakfast in garden like surrounding). It's located very close to Piazza Dante (metro!), in a rather narrow street - during day time more or less OK, not a place to stroll around after midnight! Breakfast is reasonable - coming from NL we are used to get a bit more fuel in the morning.

Great hosts, nice roof area, very cute little place. Underpriced, in my opinion, at least off season. Area a little questionable- I was mugged/assaulted by Piazza Dante.

Right in the heart of old Naples but impossible to find without Alessandra's help of meeting us outside MacDonalds. Aircon didn't work and forget internet - its only available in a standing position & during the breakfast session with the monitor up high for all to view. Would not stay again.

With outdoor space being minimal in Naples, the roof top terrace is a great space and will be particularly nice in the summer to sit out on. The brother and sister pair who run it are very friendly and helpful. Very close to museums. Long flight of stairs up to top floor.

We were a little aprehensive when we got out of the taxi regarding the area we were in, but our aprehension was for nought. Alexsandra was a gracious host, helped us with maps, told us where the good local restaurants were, gave us alot of good tips. The reward at the top of the 80plus stairs is a beautiful roof top garden. The location of the B&B, Piazza Dante, was within walking distance of all major attractions. Would highly recommend I Vicoletti

An excellent option to stay in a very good central location in Neaples. Just a minute walk off the main road, allows you to experience the real Neaples without having to wonder around dodgy areas...All sights within easy reach. The room was spacious and clean although with very little windows and no views: in winter it was not a problem, in summer night turn out to be a bit of disadvantage. Very quite. There is a lovely terrace on top of the building where to have breakfast. The owners are welcoming and efficient. I would definitly recommend it.

Excellently kept B&B very well located for the casual visitor not using a car. Contrary to other reviews, we found our room to be very quiet, but perhaps the noise varies from one room to another. Bathroom is spotlessly clean and there's lots of hot water. For those of you who come from the north of Europe or N. America: I Vicoletti is an excellent Italian B&B, but keep your confort expectations under control: no bacon & eggs for breakfast, no broadband internet access, only Italian TV (15 channels), and there are no elevators to walk up the 4 stories. Visitors from southern Europe however will feel totally at home. A real Neapolitan experience !

This accomodation is highly to recommend, it is central located, has an terrace to rest from the trips, it's clean, the rooms are fine. But Napoli is noisy, be aware of this ...

I Vicoletti is an okay place to stay for a few nights in Naples. Its location in a typical Napolitan alley, close to the popular Dante square (subway!) is very handy. We didn't have a very cosy room, especially in this hot time of the year. The room was like a bunker with only two small windows in the roof. Not easy to get some breath, so to speak. This B & B has a beautiful terrace on the roof, allthough we didn't feel very welcome to sit on it after the breakfasthours, allthough that seems quite common in Naples' B & B's/hotels. Furthermore: it's a good advice to learn to shower at Michael Schumacher-speed, the two showers will only give warm water for 3 minutes. After that, especially during the busy showertime in the morning, you must endure a spartan cold shower.

The facility is on the top floor (5 or 6th) of a residential bldg. There's no sign. It might be difficult to find it even reffering to a map. There's no lift. Not suitable for the traverllers with big & heavy luggage. The bell for the entrance didn't work at that time. The only thing I was astonished and upset was they didn't accept my wish to keep luggage for a few hours after c/out.

It was nice and spotless bedroom and bathroom. We had difficulty finding the place though. One thing we were not aware was that breakfast only starts from 8:30 which was inconvenient for us to go and catch train to see pompeii. The lady owner is a bit scary as well.

It would have been helpful to have informed me that the property is a fifth-floor walkup without regular elevator service. Also, it would have been helpful to have informed me that the hotel accepts cash only. These inconveniences diminished my pleasure in staying at an otherwise excellent hotel.

I Vicoletti is really quite special. It is run by the three Simeone siblings, Giuglio, his sister Alessandra, and another sister I did not meet. The rooms are simple but clean and spacious; the windows provide air but no view. What makes the place special is that guests have the use of the roof-top terrace one floor up. Part of it is roofed and is used as the breakfast area; the rest is open air. You could be in a five-star hotel and not have such a pleasant place to sit and plan your day -- or recover from it. Moreover, there is a bookshelf well stocked with the best guides to Naples, though so far only in Italian. Alessandra took good care of me, telling me how to reach the place, warning me of the impending general strike, getting me a taxi at a reasonable rate, and generally being helpful. Breakfast was quite adequate by Italian standards but low on protein and fresh fruit by American or northern European standards. You may want to buy some cheese or fruit the night before. Everyone mentions the lack of an elevator. There are, in fact, 87 steps, so pack light and be glad there is no elevator, for if there were one, your room would surely cost twice as much. I Vicoletti is about a hundred yards from the metro station in Piazza Dante. From the metro, go north, uphill, about ten yards to Vico Avvocato, turn left and go about sixty yards to Via San Domenico Soriano; turn right, and 44-46 is about 15 yards ahead on the left. Next to the small sign (about 15 cm wide) there is a bell. Ring it to be let in and begin the ascent. "I Vicoletti" sounds like some aristocratic Italian family. In fact, it is a combination of "Vico" -- meaning, in Neopolitan, a narrow little side street -- and "letti" meaning beds. This is just the first of many original touches you will find here.

We only stayed one night at "I Vicoletti", but we enjoyed our stay there very much. The rooms and shared bathrooms are very clean and friendly, breakfast at the terrace on the roof was good and romantic. The welcome was very friendly (we instantly got clues, where to go and what we should see), we felt safe (they looked after the door), and didn't mind the narrow steps leading to the fourth floor (which - of course - would be difficult for older or disabled people). The house and surrounding is a romantic and typical neapolitan stay - we recommend I Vicoletti to everybody, who likes to be welcomed by the statues of Jesus Christ and Mary and the the eternal light, and we would like to come back and stay for more than one night!

Fantastic bed and breakfast located in the heart of Naples. Rooms are clean (if a bit small) but well decorated and kept. B&B has a very charming roof terrace with views of the certosa di san martino and castel sant elmo. There is a beutiful neapolitan crib also, which is worth a peek. Access is a bit difficult as the b&b is on the last floor of the old Palazzo, however the views and general atmosphere genrally compensate for the struggle to get up every time. Recommended to all travellers looking for that slightly special and different experience from the standard chain hotel :)

I Vicoletti is a very nice place, run by friendly people. They have a great roof terrace. Our room was big, clean, nicely decorated, but a bit noisy. You need to watch your bag in the small alley leading to the place, but that's only a short distance and we didn't feel too unsafe. All in all, we had a very nice stay. I would recommend the place to anyone travelling on a not-too-tight budget, but wanting a characterful place.

A little less noise at night from streets outside, and a "tuning" of pricing could turn the B&B in one of the best choices for a tourist in Naples.

This is a great bargain, but there are one or two major drawbacks that the potential customer should be aware of. It is a five-floor walk up with no elevator. This is fine if you are in shape for it, but be aware. Also, the location is hard to find. Also, be sure to make known to the staff when you will arrive. There are times when it seems no one is on duty and you may stand frustrated outside a locked door. Still, once you get to I Vicoletti, the staff (family run, I think) is very friendly and the rooms quite adequate especially considering the very reasonable price. Breakfast is served on the roof (there is an enclosed portion for when the weather is inclement). This is very pleasant. The location is close to Piazza Dante and fairly central and close to public transportation. I would certainly go there again!
